    I was hit by another car who backed up without looking. The damage was to my right front (lights, front panel, body...etc). The work was estimated to be 50 hours. I picked up my car 6 weeks after dropping it off. There were delays due to unprofessional interactions between the shop and my insurance company. The shop would not let certain adjusters and kept submitting supplements causing delays. The insurance company (State Farm) stated that this fix cost $2000 above their estimate and would not authorize a $520 bill three times. So, the body shop says it is between me and my insurance. The insurance says it is between the body shop and me. The body shop refused to let my car go until I agreed to pay $520 above my deductible. After playing the blame game, they held me responsible. Ultimately the other insurance company (at fault) agreed to reimburse me after I pay for it. I have used this shop twice before when it was the preferred provider for the the insurance company. Apparently it is a mess now as several YELP reviews suggest. I would advice to stay away from this shop.

    It took much longer than I expected (> a week) to get an estimate and for Fix to close the loop with my insurance company. I made several calls to get status & to try to move things along. The rep answering the phone was very nice, but I soon tired of hearing how busy they were as a reason why paperwork on my car was always delayed. My car was considered to be "totaled", mostly due to its age, so no repair work was ever initiated.

    started off fine, set appointment, they were going to get my rental set up as well. I arrived on time for my appointment , 15 minutes AFTER the shop is supposed to open. I stand in the 40 degree cold while I wait at the locked door. No one opens the door, and no one appears to be there. I call the # and get the after hours line hoping I might reach someone inside the office that cant hear the door. I fail. So I continue to wait in the cold. Finally a man from the shop wanders over and unlocks the door, not apologizing at all for my wait, or anything. If I was late, Id apologize! I've wasted his time, set him back with his other appointments for the day. We go in, hes very nonchalant about everything, tells me to go ahead and grab what I need and the car will be there to meet me in a bit (from the rental agency) Fast forward 4 days to Friday (mind you I was quoted 2-3 day turn around) I get a call Friday telling me that one of the parts that the didn't realize I needed was just ordered (when the other parts arrived, and when they went to put it all together realized they couldnt see the damage till they actually got in there) I first wonder why you wouldn't get in there to see everything you need BEFORE you order? Well needless to say, friday came and went, and the car was still there, got a 3:30 call telling me that probably monday (and have to pay for a full 3 more days at least of car rental) . Disapointed, and wont use them again.

    It was great! Exotic Motors was the shop my insurance co referred me to so I didn't need to have a claims adjuster look at the car. Mark provided me with an estimated date it would be ready which I never thought they'd meet and the car was ready 2 days early. I received a voicemail almost daily with a status update. It always is a bummer to have a car in the shop, but Exotic Motors made it as painless as possible. I would definitely go there again.

    The job went very well. The job involved more than merely ordering the parts and installing. The staff is very particular about making sure the paint finish matches exactly with the rest of the car and so they caution that they may take an extra day to verify that the color is matched after application. They were very good at explaining the process and the time required (over a week) and they kept to the schedule, with an occasional phone call to update the status. They have a fleet of loaner cars that are available for free. These are vehicles probably 10-20 years old and they're showing their age. In fact, the first one we used had a leak in one of the tires and so we swapped it out. The next one had an outright flat when a nail went through the tire. The flat happened on my wife's way to work and she called before the shop was opened and someone came right out to pick her up and get her a different car--that was great service. The finished product was flawless. You can't tell that there was any work done and the paint job is perfect. I highly recommend this company.

    GILMAN AUTOBODY CARSTAR
    We have taken our vehicles to Gilman Autobody in the past for smaller jobs so it was a no-brainer to bring in our car to them again.  We were told that we would be able to pick up our car July 3rd.  As that day approached we called to check in and then were told it wouldn't be until the 10th. Since we have 4 drivers in our household we can't be down a vehicle for long and our insurance pays squat for a rental.  It was an inconvenience but what troubled us the most is the lack of communication from them.  It was us that called and got told the bad news.
    So the morning of the 10th we are getting ready to leave to get our car and thought we should call ahead.  It was at this point we were told it was going to be at least another week.  They had found more things that needed to be repaired and needed clearance from the insurance company and so forth.  No matter what the reason is, why were we not communicated with?  What happened to good customer service and communication?  Communication is a critical part of professionalism and getting customers to come back.  The least they could have done was gotten us a loaner or paid for a rental but all we got was I'm sorry's. 
    If you have a large repair job I would think twice about going to Gilman Autobody.  The communication is bad and they didn't even try to make it better and keep us happy.

    I brought the car in and they took a close look at it, inside and out.  Rob O'Brien was caring, sympathetic, and thorough.  He gave me a reasonable estimate, and said they could start work in 3 days. They worked with the insurance companies involved, and coordinated a a rental car for me while my car was being worked on. They gave me updates twice while it was there via text.   Their office was clean, staff was courteous.  They all seemed to take pride in their work. I was extremely happy with the work they did.  The car looked fantastic and they even bumped out a dent from an unrelated accident at no charge.  The only reason they didn't score perfectly was because they estimated it would take 3 days to fix and it took 5.  I would absolutely go back for any body work I needed done, and highly recommend it to my friends and neighbors.  They went above and beyond what I expected and were extremely customer focused.

    This is the second time I used Doug's Auto Collision. It has been awhile - used on my last car, and used several months ago on my new car. I've not had time to write something, so just doing now as I want to be sure to say how pleased I was with their service. Everything went well from pricing, job done well, and friendliness of service. He and staff will be honest with you.

    The only negative I have is that I would like to see a cleaner waiting room/bathroom in case you stay to wait. However, they are a smaller operation, so probably hard to keep up on that end. There are lots of restaurants and stores nearby, so if you want to wait, you can go to a one of them. He does offer cars for use, too.
