  • Very well, The person that was sent out was very professional and was able to do the entire job from inside the house so there was no need to go on the roof. He kept the work area clean and explained what he was going to do, and then explained what he did. The flue now works correctly and I am enjoying my fireplace again.

  • Excellent service provider. Two men came. They placed a vacuum in the fireplace and sealed it off to prevent any soot getting into the room. One man got on the roof and swept while the other man insured no soot entered the house. They did a thorough job and worked quickly and efficiently.

  • The yard landscaping went relatively well. They started off strong, but problems toward the end of the job.  The owner stopped showing up, and only sent his crew once the job was underway.  A key component in the landscaping design was the waterfall in the back.  They did not build the reservoir at the bottom large enough to contain all the water when the falls are turned off, causing the reservoir to overflow.  Their solution was to install an overflow hose, and to take the overflow water away everytime the waterfall is turned off.  This then results in there not being enough water in the reservoir when you turn the waterfall on, which requires us to add water.  As you can image, this means that if you shut the waterfall off every night, you lose 20-30 gallons of water, that has to be refilled every morning.   They have been back 3 times to fix it, but it still is not working properly.
While they were landscaping the yard, we also secured a quote from them to clear a building site for new garage.  Quote #1.  Three months later we hired them to clear the building site.  They increased the quote by 35% (Quote #2) for the work, based on the final size of the building.  We agreed to the price in Quote #2, and signed a fixed price agreement.  After they started the project, the owner increased the price again, by another 35%.  We tried to negotiate for them to finish the work at the agreed upon price but we were unable to reach an agreement.   We stopped the project and asked them to leave.  We paid them 50% of the agreed upon price for the work done to date on the building site.

  • After 2-3 cancellations and no-shows, these folks finally showed up last night at 7:30 pm.  They had scheduled for 5-7, so when 7 came around we figured it was another no-show and started to get ready for our evening.
By the time the worker arrived and got set up, it was dark outside.  He was a quite pleasant person, but didn't seem to know very much about chimney cleaning.  He didn't put down any drop cloths for either of the flues, and proceeded to get soot spread throughout our house's main floor.  He came into the house, covered in soot and sweating profusely, and got sooty sweat on several carpets and all over our fireplace hearth.  To his credit he noticed some of the soot, and said he would vacuum it up.  He vacuumed up a few spots, but with a small shop-vac that proceeded to blow even finer soot out of its exhaust vent, and even further into our house.  When I asked him why he didn't use a long hose connected to a unit outside the house (as every other chimney cleaner does that we have used), he seemed mystified by the concept.  I finally signed off on the job just to get him out of the house, as it was now almost 9 pm.  All in all, from the late visit, to the disregard for the cleanliness of our house, it was an unpleasant experience.  To top it off, I noticed today that he didn't clean the stovepipe connecting our wood stove to the chimney, so I'll have to bring someone in to do that before I can start using the wood stove.
Today my wife and I have spent over 6 hours cleaning the entire main floor of our home, this after we just had floors refinished.
    Not very happy here!

  • I don't use the wood stove except when the power is out. I don't remember how many years since the chimney was cleaned. I called QCO for maintenance. It need it. They promptfuly made an appointment. They were efficient and clean. They found the odd sized cap and the lining that repaired. They even fixed the upstairs doors to the fireplace with no charge.

  • Colton was professional, efficient and timely. He cleared out a significant amount of soot and residue. He provided detailed report of services. He was to the point and thorough. Would recommend and will use for wood burning chimneys this spring.

  • Contacted Mr. Voigt on the phone and received a service date and estimate based on my description of the work I wanted done. As they were very busy they showed up on the agreed date about 10 days later and actually a little early. John and his assistant inspected the fireplaces and chimneys then proceeded to clean them. They partially disassembled the fireplace insert fire bricks and cleaned everything. After looking over the basement fireplace they determined it did not require service due to none use. They left absolutely no mess even bringing glass cleaner cream (the correct method) for cleaning the fireplace insert class but did not need it as I had already cleaned it prior to their arrival.
Anyway in the end they adjusted the price down because of the downstairs not needing service and offered to bring out some replacement bricks for the four cracked ones in the insert unit plus a rain cap for the one chimney flu that does not have one.
Good professional service and reasonable pricing while offering options for additional service without pressure.

  • Very well. I was in the process of selling my home and meeting a requirement by the buyers. I explained what I needed done and didn't want any notations on the paperwork that would lead the buyers to require me to do any more additional work. I needed them to listen to me and they did!!! Another company I called off Angie's List was adament that they would write inspection notes. I felt like the other company was just drumming up business because they told me that ALWAYS find something wrong (and that was going to cost me more maybe even the sale).

  • The tech was on time, very knowledgeable, and polite. I haven't owned the house for long and never had a fireplace before, so he patiently answered all my dumb questions about how to operate the fireplace. He ran me through the drill and passed on a lot of safety tips. He cleaned the chimney, and you couldn't even tell he had been in the house. He was very careful to put drop cloths on everything, including the rug I had just finished cleaning.
