Martin is an amazing professional. Great personality. He described exactly what needed to be done (especially the water damaged ceiling) on the various projects, provided quotes as to cost and made the repairs and installations expertly and efficiently. Martin was always on time and performed the work within the timeframe quoted. Martin's pricing was very fair. The quality of his work was excellent.

Fantastically. Dan finished his miraculous transformations of our bedrooms and bath a week ago. When we bought this house, we agreed that only a professional painter would do to turn what were the "Star Wars," the "Rose-and-Purple Tiger-striped," and the nearly black and gold "Nascar" bedrooms into something elegant and fitting for a retired couple who may someday have to remarket this home. There are not words to describe what those rooms were before his magic happened. They were out of some psychedelic Alice in Wonderland dream, and that included the ceilings. When he first saw the spaces, he turned to me to say, "You know, this is going to require more than one coat." A huge understatement, indeed! Dan works with only the best materials and prepares his clients a detailed contract in advance of the work, explaining every step and materials. He follows up after the work is done to make sure you are completely satisfied. Dan is meticulous and gifted in his work. This includes the job itself but also speaks to his work preparations of the area and the cleanup afterwards. Since we are retired and home a good part of the day, I can attest to how incredibly quiet, neat, clean, organized and timely he is. My pictures don't come close to showing the craziness before he got underway, but one or so show the lovely improvement. Wish I had better to post. Elaine Lawson 159 High Street St. Albans, VT 05478

I requested a specific type of paint called Benjamin Moore and he didn’t used that. He tried to get by and fake using that paint. He transferred all the paint into baggies and left me one gallon. I went to wash the wall and the paint started to come off. I know Benjamin Moore paint does not come off like that.  He used cheap inexpensive material and got paint on my furniture and floors. He also didn’t go in and cut the trim a second time. I’ll have to paint the whole place again. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I could not recommend Paul enough!! I am a homemaker so it is sometimes uncomfortable to have someone in my home for an extended period of time. Not only did I feel comfortable with him here, he was so kind to our cats, who (of course) had to help him. He is a perfectionist, and also has an incredible feel for color. Together with my decorator, he helped us pick out the colors for our walls, and I am more than pleased. If you just want someone to slap some paint on your wall, Paul is not the person, but if you love your home as we do, Paul is the person to call. He has already corrected many errors made by my previous painter, and he will be continuing to paint for us in the spring. He is one of the most trustworthy artisans I have had the privilege to work with, and look forward to working with him again. I cannot think of one negative thing about my experience with him, and I have extensive experience with remodeling and redecorating, both here in Vermont and previously in Milwaukee WI. You cannot get any better than Paul.

Ray contacted my father-in-law who was having the interior upper floor of our house painted as a house-warming gift for us. The house definitely needed the TLC but overall was in pretty workable shape. Ray had come in and seen the house with no furniture in it and as it was when the prior tenants moved out so there were no illusions about what had to be done. He looked it over and gave my father in law a price of $125 per room and we would provide the supplies, paint, brushes, tape etc. We were impressed with his speed but when we actually moved in a few months later is was painfully obvious that he did absolutely no prep work on the walls. The bathroom in particular was really bad with fixtures getting paint on them and the edges around the tub having gaps. Wall sockets didn't get taped off so quite a few of them got hit with paint. Window sills got hit with paint in more than one place. I'm thankful that none of our floors had been put in yet so he wasn't able to cause any damage to them. At the end of the job, a few tools and some other small items around the house came up "missing". Unsurprisingly when I asked Ray about the tools he didn't call me back to let me know if they had made it into his bag. My biggest gripe is that the skim coat that is used to prepare walls for painting just wasn't done in some key areas, especially the bathroom. To top off everything, he ended up charging $125.00 per coat of paint per room. My father-in-law is very non-confrontational so I didn't find this out till many months later! I think he was just out to turn a quick buck in a slow time of the year and didn't care how it came out. Use this guy at your own risk!
