  • There were numerous instances when things didn't go well.  For example, one time when a team arrived it was very obvious that they had been arguing with each other.  That continued while they were here.  They were sharp with each other - one woman in particular seemed to be the target.  The "target" started to clean the kitchen counters and I gave her a spray bottle of the product I like to use and asked her to use it for cleaning.  She grabbed the bottle from me, slammed it down on the counter and started complaining under her breath.  She continued to do that the whole time she was here.  I called the home office after that and told them I didn't want that particular person at my house again.
           One time the person who was supposedly cleaning the bathrooms did a very poor job.  In some places it looked like no effort had been made to clean.  The faucets, mirrors and floors were still in need of cleaning when she was done.  The team leader had the woman redo the bathrooms.  The end result was marginally better.
    The last time someone was here to clean was the day that had been schedule as an extra cleaning to get the house ready for company associated with a family wedding and get together.  .  The scheduled time for the cleaning came and went  with no cleaning team at the house or any other type of contact from the company.  I called the home office and was told that the person I needed to talk  wasn't available and I would get a call back.  Some time later I received a call back and was told that the scheduler (the woman I was then talking to) hadn't told a cleaning team about the appointment.  She was the only person permitted to set the schedule and she had been tending to a personal matter.   She told me she would have a team at the house as soon as she could.  I  reminded her that I had spent all afternoon at home waiting when I had so many other things to do.   The quality of the cleaning was poor.  The same person who had done such a lousy job cleaning the bathrooms before "cleaned" them again.  The team leader had her return to the bathrooms twice after they were supposedly clean to redo things.  In the end the team leader cleaned the bathroom.

  • Working with The Maids was an unpleasant experience for several reasons.!  On one day the team showed up and it was immediately obvious that they had been arguing with each other.  While they were here they were rude to each other, spoke in harsh tones and slammed and banged around my house for the whole time they were here.  One person in particular seemed to be responsible for much of the discord.  When I asked that person to use a specific product  when cleaning the counter tops she slammed the spray bottle she was holding down on the counter and proceeded to talk under her breath making it very clear she was angry about switching cleaning products.  After this team left my home I called their employer reported this incident and asked that this team not return to my home in the future.
     
          On another occasion the woman who was assigned the cleaning of the bathrooms was told several times by the team leader that the rooms weren't clean and to go back and do them again..  I had asked the team leader to check the quality of the work because on a previous occasion this woman had done a very, very poor cleaning job.  
           I had a cleaning scheduled to be done two days before my granddaughter's wedding.  We had a couple family events planned so an extra cleaning was to be done just to be sure every thing was ship-shape.  The time scheduled for the cleaning came and went ...no one came to clean and no one called to let me know what was going on.   So, I called and was told by the company representative that something had come up (a sick child needing medical attention) so she hadn't reiterated to the team leader that I was expecting the team at a specific time to do some last minute cleaning.  The company rep told me she was the only one who handled the schedule.    I said that I thought that was no way to run a business and that customer service didn't seem to be very important to them.   I said I was particularly upset because I had stayed home wasting time when I still had many things to do to get ready for my out-of-town guests.
         There are other examples of my poor experience with the Maids that I am not going to get into because I think the above comments will give a pretty good sense of how things went.
