    We bought our Ford Escape from Walker Ford in 2006. Then Formula Ford bought them out. Ever since then all service work on the Escape was ok and the service folks are quite nice. BUT when we brought in the Escape in 2011 with some severe rust in the rear wheelwells (mind you this is only 5 years after we bought it) FF said they would replace them for some seven thousand $ - no discount for the product having been defective. I have a 2003 VW that is still wonderfully in tact and has travelled on the same roads for three years more! After some internet searching we found many, many folks who have had the same experience - especially with the Hybrid as the batteries supposedly off-gas corrosive fumes. Their stories were similar around their experiences with their Ford Dealers. Eventually we located an independent garage that did the work for under a thousand $. |Shame on Formula Ford for not trying to help us. Shame on Ford Company for probably making it impossible for them to do so. We will NEVER buy another Ford product! |And never take out Escape there again.

    They replaced the gas tank and all was well as far as that goes. What they did not tell me was that the car was rusting out underneath and was a hazard to drive. I had to junk it soon afterward.
    It would have been of more use to me if they had let em know this so I could have used my money more wisely; e.g. to buy another car.
    I had other cars servcied there for years and, although it is pricey, the work had always been good. I have always felt burned about the fact that they continued to "fix" my car to the tune of many hundreds of dollars, when they must have known that it was rusting out underneath and had reached the end of its life.

    Overall, this was a very good car buying experience. Our salesperson was helpful, with minimal pressure and provided us with a good deal. We should have been more firm and could have saved another $500 but, in the end, we got a beautiful car, equipped just like we wanted/needed.
    We did spend time we didn't have to trying to figure out if we should lease or buy (buy) and with the usual pitch for add ons (tire and wheel insurance, etc.).
    Just watch the deal from start to finish; get the deal's paperwork before you agree as we and quot;dickeredand quot; some only to find that they reduced the price of the car $1,000 BUT this was a and quot;givenand quot; as it was a Toyota rebate. BUT they did take $2,000 off the MSRP right at the start and that helped.
    The sales person was respectful of what we needed to consider and make decisions and the car was delivered as promised and in perfect condition.
    Overall we would return to 802Toyota and we do have some service done there. The service department is helpful, efficient, courteous and knowledgeable - and the and quot;techsand quot; are skilled - they fix things right the first time!.

    We always go to Morse Auto because after years of dealing with other auto service dealers, we finally found Morse Auto in 2005. We have never had an issue with them - they are so honest, and do their best to get you in whatever your problem. I would highly recommend them to my friends or anyone who is looking for a mechanic who doesn't rob you blind - they built their reputation on honesty and good work ethics.

    The recent repair work was done competently. We were given a loaner car and picked the car up at the time promised. Eight years ago I purchased a used Mazda 626 from Auto Craftsmen and there was an issue with the check engine light coming on all the time. They replaced the O2 sensor, which appeared to be the problem according to the codes, but every now and then it continued to come on. They serviced the car at no charge well beyond the warranty, and after about a year we agreed that the light was not indicating a problem since the car was reliable and always ran well. When I brought it in for routine maintenance, they'd turn the light off, but as soon as the engine warmed up it came on again. I never felt any worry because I knew they had checked the car thoroughly and I never had any problems with this car. My ex bought my son a used Nissan Maxima, and I took it to Auto Craftsmen because it was not inspected by a mechanic before it was purchased. They helped me prioritize the work the car needed--safety first--and I was able to spread out the cost of making the car useful and reliable over several months. They provide in-town shuttle service for people who work in downtown Montpelier in the morning and again at the end of the day. There will provide a loaner on a first-come first-serve basis. This is an excellent repair and maintenance business. I prefer to pay more to them because they stand behind their work and want to prevent problems.

    In every effort they have done, I have always felt that I was treated honestly and fairly. Even when I did not know what was wrong and they could have charged much more, they were honest and charged only the actual cost of the repair. I had a flashing warning light on my 2006 Highlander Hybrid - an expensive car to work on and repair. The light could have meant anything. They traced it to a loose wire on a sensor and charged me nothing at all. Another time, I took a car in for a trip inspection and they discovered that I had a wheel bearing about to go out. If it had failed on the trip, it could have caused a major accident. I asked for a wash and wax and interior vac. during one visit. The price of $50 was very competitive but what I got was a cleaning and detailing job that would cost $250 or more at any other shop. They stripped the interior down to the metal and deep cleaned EVERY nook and cranny in and under the car, cleaned the carpets (steam cleaned?) and put it all back so it looked and smelled like a new car. When I asked them for work on the Hybrid system, they referred me to the local dealer - admitting that they were not qualified or trained to do the work. They have since sent one of their mechanics to a special school to get certified in hybrid vehicles. They offer coupons and discounts all the time that have saved me lots of money and put their prices in the very competitive range for being such high quality. The owner is very involved in local charities and contributes a lot of time and money to them. They will sell cars for their customers but only if they have maintained them so that they can honestly vouch for the quality and condition of the car. It is rare to find a car dealer and repair service that you can really and honestly trust to deal with you in a fair and forthright manner. I have owned more than 50 cars in my life in all parts of the country and have used car repair and service businesses hundreds of times. I can count the times I have felt like I was dealing with an honest auto repair business on one hand - the rest left me thinking that they were exclusively out to make a profit at my expense. If you live in Vermont or are traveling up here and need car repairs or maintenance, I would recommend a call or visit to Auto Craftsmen in Montpelier. If they can help you, they will and if not, they will refer you to someone that you can trust.

    This has been a great replacement vehicle for the Chevy Corsica and the Toyota 4x4 I used to own. Gas mileage is not great, 24MPG with all season tires. I bought the automatic because I have a small pop up camper I tow with it.
