With the first project of removing the old supply lines, there were leaks created but they fixed them the next day. Hopefully I didn't have to pay for the issues the staff created but not positive. the work for the water heater and washer were fine and timely. The biggest issue we had was with very misleading pricing on the hybrid water heater. In our area, Efficiency Vermont provides a $500 rebate on the water heater. Kevin provided a bid without this $500 rebate saying that it would be mailed to us. Even our invoice of $2900 has a statement that the rebate would be mailed directly to us. When it didn't arrive within 2 months, I contacted he back. he showed that HE received the rebate directly from the supplier and then showed me a breakdown of his costs (never provided with his estimate). This felt really unethical to us. We were expecting $2900 MINUS $500 rebate. His bid of 10 man hours to install an electric water heater was pretty excessive to me. He basically thought that him providing his labor and materials cost would make me "understand" his mistake in the invoice to us. It does not. I would not hire again and would urge others to rethink as well.

Spafford was extremely professional. All the workers who came to the house were very pleasant & tried to be as unobtrusive as possible. I feel the well work was done correctly. It was not a fast fix however. It took two months from placing the first call to completing the well. I know it was a very busy year but that's a long time with little running water. Once they got the drilling rig to the house it only took 2-3 days. I do wish I had gotten another estimate. The original estimate was $7500 but the final price was $10,000. So I'm pleased with the work that was done but I would definitely shop around next time to try & save some money and/or get it done faster.

I had requested a plumber to replace some cracked copper piping in my basement leading to a garden hose. The name of the business left me a little weary at first as I was concerned about getting an electrician to do my plumbing work. David did an excellent job Ina very efficient manner. He was very punctual and timely in getting the work done. Although the price was a little higher than I expected, I chalk that up to not really knowing what to expect for a market rate. I would/will certainly bring him back for future projects.

Geroge and an associate removed and replaced our outdated boiler with a Baxi boiler that supplies hot water on demand to the radiant heating and the household fixtures. At the same time he relocated the laundry and converted the laundry area into a second bathroom. George and his crew were efficient, effective, personable, timely, professional, accomodating....I could go on and on.  Definitely a number I will keep close at hand.

We are extremely pleased... Milton and his coworkers are very nice people and a pleasure to deal with.
And there's not much to tell in terms of a "story," but suffice it to say that you will not be disappointed.

They were very friendly and courteous over the phone, had our records, answered my questions, showed up on time and completed the job promptly. Excellent service and I would highly recommend them.

They did ultimately get the system running again and advised that it would hold for awhile but would actually need to be repaired again in the future. I share the system with a neighbor who actually is a professional estimator. He quickly identified that there were gross overcharges and addressed it directly with the company. They came to an agreement with an adjusted amount and we paid that amount in full. The company then decided to sue both of us and put leins on our properties AFTER they accepted our payment. This was an $1,800 difference. We're dealing with our attorneys now and have found this is not unusual for them.

Mr. Holstein showed up as promised on both jobs. On the first job, he had to find a way to wedge a replacement cabinet in a space that was slightly smaller than ideal. We had already had a quartz backsplash installed with a cutout left for the counter cabinet. The original cabinet we had to place in the space fit perfectly but the replacement was a tad larger. Mr. Holstein ingeniously shaved a bit of the wood from each side to slide the new cabinet in without any evidence of a problem fit. Our only other option was to rip the installed backsplash from the sheetrock, cut a hair from the side to accommodate the cabinet, repair the sheetrock, and then replace the trimmed piece of backsplash. Mr. Holstein's alternate solution took about an hour to complete and we were charged his very reasonable hourly rate. On the second job, Mr. Holstein found that there were leaks coming from both kitchen sink drains. These sinks were installed a couple of years ago by a man recommended by Bouchard Pierce (not sure he was really a plumber as much as a carpenter). Anyway, since the system installed wasn't optimal, Mr. Holstein recommended we change it out with components that would be easy to access were there ever a need to repair them again. To gut and replace the existent plumbing took 2 hours. Once again, this generous man charged us his hourly rate and the cost of the needed parts to do the job. He had all the tools he needed on his truck upon arrival at both jobs. He worked efficiently and neatly on both jobs and gave us a thorough rundown of what services had been performed before leaving. This man is a straight shooter. There won't be any callbacks on these jobs and look at the price!

It went well. Cost a fortune: $460 for 1.5 hours of work.
