  • I don’t usually have to wait long in the office when I have an appointment. He is a fine vet, but don’t let him convince you that you have checked your brain at the door. Ask intelligent questions and expect intelligent answers. He will tend to put you off like you won’t understand the answer anyway, so I won’t bother to tell you. His partner is fantastic. I can’t remember her name, she’s good.

  • We then had a vet that would come and do house calls for large and small animals, but he didn?t have his own building. In the evenings, you would have to call these other emergency people and Steve and Angela happened to be the ones that was on call.

The dog bit me too, so my daughter was driving me to the emergency room. My son & husband had the goat in the back of the car and they were trying to find his clinic. They had to go here and there. They went one place and they were told, ?we can?t do anything for that goat!? Then they said, ?why don?t you try this place!? They tried the other place and Steve & Angela thought he was just going to put her down, but he took one look at her and said, ?this goat just has too much life left in her!?

She had a hole through her neck into her windpipe, which we could hear whistling. My husband who is not the medical person in the family learned how to give goat shots because she had to have 5 shots a day, pain shots, antibiotics and all kinds of stuff.  So, we are real big fans of Steve and Angela. The pricing is amazingly reasonable. I have told friends that are new to town or new to animals that they are good people to call.

  • The whole staff signed a sympathy card. I had never seen that from a large animal vet before, because they figure you are farmers, your livestock, your practical. I called them the next day to say thanks for all the help, but the ewe died. We started using him 11 years ago.

  • In general we'd been happy with this place. Our dog seems to really look forward to going and is always tuckered out when we pick him up. Lately a few issues have started to bother me. First, they don't have a limit on the number of dogs that can attend during a day, so the yard might be completely packed and there is no way 1-2 people can keep a safe eye on the dogs. Second, we were away on vacation a few weeks ago and a friend of ours was picking up our dog on a Friday afternoon. Without our knowing, our friend sent our husband to pick up our dog instead of herself. Our dog doesn't know him, and can be a little skittish around men he doesn't know, but nothing signifiant. Usually, if the guy ignores him for a few minutes, lets the dog sniff him out, he's good to go. We're not high maintenence dog owners, and our friends own dogs so they know what's up. We got no less than 5 calls from the panicked staff member who didn't know what to do because the dog was being shy and nervous. We were in SAN DIEGO. First of all, what were we supposed to do about it? Secondly, aren't you supposed to be dog professionals and know that if you're freaking out the dog will freak out? But if you just relax and give them a few minutes they'll likely be fine! In the end, our friend's husband had to talk the staff member off a ledge, buy a treat for the dog, and the rest was harmonious history. I was just so unimpressed with how they handled the situation when that's supposed to be "their business." Last incident was the icing on the cake. Our dog is not a jumper. But we got a call that he jumped up on a fence in response to another dog which caused an injury to his paw. They'd bandaged him up nicely and we were there in 20 minutes. He'd only been there for 2 hours that day, and not only did they charge us for an entire day of care, they didn't seem apologetic about the incident at all, or the lack of supervision, or the fact that there was an exposed fence in the dog yard where a dog could injure himself. We get it, these things happen, but comping us those 2 hours would have been the considerate thing to do.

  • We keep on going back there.
