AThey did a great job. We were really quite happy with them. I got quotes from three different companies and theirs was comparable. It was excellent quality. They did a really great job. They showed up right when they said they would, they did exactly what they said they would do, and it cost exactly what they said it would cost.- Steven J.

AFrom my call to obtain an estimate to the time he finished the work on this home, Steve Kirby was professional, trustworthy, reliable and easy to work with. He was conscientious about answering my questions about the estimate, the terms of the contract for services and the work he was doing in the home. There was a delay--wholly attributable to me-of approximately ten months between his estimate and the signing of the contract and commencement of the work . Steve honored his original estimate without any need to update or adjust the price due to my delay.
By mutual agreement, this residential re-wire was fit in around other jobs he was doing, and spread out over two months. This was possible because the home was basically empty. He started promptly and finished well ahead of the agreed-upon end date. I gave him his own key to the home and he came and went as needed. His presence is the home left little or no footprint, except the new outlets and switches that I saw when I stopped by. He was quite good about cleaning up, which I frankly did not expect. (sheet rock dust was swept up, old wires and other electrical trash was put in boxes and bags, ready for disposal.) Especially noteworthy was his prompt, patient and thorough communications with me about all aspects of what he was doing, mostly by email since we rarely met in person while he was doing the work. He would also call/communicate with me regarding the longer periods of time when he would not be working in the home so that I could plan accordingly around security concerns. He answered all my questions and graciously ran interface with a finicky utility company inspector whose imprimatur was necessary to complete the job.
This was an older home with original sheet rock and, in some rooms, plaster. That there was minimal need to do repair and touch up work on the walls and ceilings once he was done is a clear indication that Steve took great care in his work and respected me as a consumer.
I would strongly recommend Kirby Electric to anybody who has a residential re-wire, and would not hesitate to call upon Steve to do similar electrical work in the future.

BContacted Melody Electric and immediately talked to a pleasant office receptionist. I explained my problem and we immediately set up an appointment at an agreed upon time. Two gentlemen from Melody Electric showed up exactly at the appointed time. They were extremely polite and professional. They work from a set cost structure for services performed and tell you up front what they will charge you for each of the services you want them to do for you. We agreed on the work and the price. They did their work very efficiently and professionally. They were done in almost exactly one hour. For the scheduling of the work and getting it done efficiently and correctly, I would give Melody Electric an A+. They were fantastic. The reason they get an overall B is on price. For the $447 cost I was charged, I judge I could have purchased good grade parts (two switches, one outlet and a GFI circuit breaker) for no more than $90. That means that I was essentially charged $360 for two people for one hour's elapsed time or $180/hour for two people each for labor. No doubt that covers the overhead of the office, etc. but it is not something that strikes me as cheap. For that reason I gave Melody Electric a C on price and an overall rating of B. Having said that, would I use them again? The answer is, probably, yes. It was easy to contact them and immediately set up an appointment. They showed up on time and did efficient excellent work. They were extremely courteous. They told me up front what it would cost and I had the opportunity to show them the door if I didn't like it. I compare this to another provider that is rated A in Angie's list with 33 ratings who did not return my phone call. Compared to what a nightmare it can be to have someone come to do a small job and wonder what kind of work they will do when they get there, it was a very pleasant experience indeed to have Melody Electric come in a timely manner and do quality work. I just feel I had to pay a premium price for this excellent service and this is reflected in my rating.- Robert O.

AI found them incredibly helpful, honest and I really liked their work. I liked the fact that they were honest about everything, and they could have told me anything and I would have believed them. My husband thought we needed much more work than we got done, and I just appreciated that they were honest, and they knew what they were doing. The work turned out perfect.- jennifer f.

CThey did resolve the problem but they never told me over the phone what to expect on price. When they arrived it cost $200 to just diagnose the problem. Then it seemed like it took them a long time to find the issue. I pointed out the problem and they ended up fixing that, the GFI Unit. That cost $100 per unit to replace. Their prices were very expensive and I wouldn't use them again.- Sue F.

AThey did just fine. I decided to use them because the electricians were associated with the building that we were using. Their work was fine, no problem.
They were very nice and pleasant. They got the work done, no problems. As far as I know we did not have any problems with the work at all.
It was part of the bigger deal and it was part of the bills that I paid.- Gene C. -
AZeberiah Snow was referred to us by our Realtor during the sale of our property. We no longer live in the area, and needed someone just to install photoelectric smoke alarms in the townhouse before the fire inspection. We also asked him to attend the fire inspection and resolve any issues found, as the inspection was two days before closing was scheduled. He agreed with no hesitation, even though it was short notice. The inspector found 4 violations that needed to be resolved before we could close - one of which required a permit to do electrical work. He got the permit required and completed all of the work the following day. The morning of our closing he completed the forms required by the fire department, delivered the forms to them, and closed out the permit so that we could close without a hitch. He was a lifesaver... we easily could have had to delay closing. He was always very professional in communication, and did a good job keeping us up to speed on what was going on. We would recommend to anyone.- Julie L.

BTheir method of using up front pricing is nice in that you know exactly what it will cost you but it also left me feeling like I may have paid too much. However, we felt that with the time the two electricians spend trouble shooting the hot tub issue and the installation of the light (parts and labor) was worth it. They were very prompt. Returned our phone call the same day and came our to trouble shoot the hot tub on Christmas Eve. Since they were there we had them do the light installation then although it was not as urgent as the malfunctioning hot tub.- Dave B.

AThey were
extremely knowledgeable, professional, and a pure pleasure to deal
with! There was an additional component of the job that we weren't
anticipating. And rather than leave it for another day (and probably
additional changes) they had someone drive over the materials that they
needed. They were also creative about the solution needed. Wow!
They also kept in touch to try and get me in earlier than originally scheduled.
Steve even went so far as to recommend a few other service providers when I mentioned we were new to the area.
In summary, these gentlemen are 100% trustworthy and great at what they do. Cannot speak highly enough about them.
