  • Excellent! Shawn is so 'top notch' - he just knows everything about each little problem. He is very time-efficient and gives forthright reviews, immediately. Shortly thereafter, we had a serious problem with our clothes dryer: couldn't get a button to work, thus it wouldn't turn on. Boom! Shawn came a.s.a.p., and after taking top front panel of dryer off, he discovered that button was irretrevably broken, & asked if we could live without it! It was either that, or we would have to purchase a new dryer (they don't make the part any longer - dryer is 15 y.o.). We opted to go w/out it & dryer works wonderfully!!

  • This was the second time we've had Shawn out to help with a broken appliance. Our dryer had stopped working completely. Shawn was able to come over the same day that we called and brought the parts he thought he would need to get the job done that day. He had us back up and running again in no time. Not only that, he noticed that our lint trap was wearing out and stopped by the next afternoon to bring us a new one that he had from a salvaged identical machine! Not too many folks nowadays go to those kinds of lengths to help their customers. Shawn is friendly, warm, takes the time to answer questions and explain things for the not-technically inclined. He was even good with our barky German Shepherd! There's no one else we'd call when our appliances need help. Shawn is the best!

  • Shaun called.  I  explained my problem. Range would not work. Previous electrician identified the  problem with motherboard. Said I  could order one and he could come back and in stall.   Ordered but was not the one.  After a lot of communication with several, I found Shaun.  After a discussion over the phone and Shaun looking up model #'s and etc. The mb was not available;range too old.  I said "if I was your mother, what would you reccomen others. d?"  He he would say to buy a new  range. He said he would come anyway  and look at it, but did not want to charge unnecessarily ..  That had to be the best experience I have ever had with a problem. I am   very impressed and have already  shared withMany thanks Shaun.!

  • The repairman did his job on time and in a timely and professional manner. He could not fix the refrigerator though--a disappointment to us because we had considered just getting a new one but decided for a variety of reasons that it made more sense to try to fix the old one, which was a non-standard size and had to fit a specific dimension within a slot in the wall. Instead, we paid $125 to be told that we needed to buy a new refrigerator. Obviously, this kind of thing can't always be avoided--some machines can't be fixed without going to great expense--but I will say that $125 was more than I really wanted to pay for an "assessment" of a dying refrigerator.

  • I contacted Dan Reed when my refrigerator stopped cooling. Mr. Reed promised service between 12 and 2 PM and arrived promptly at 1:00 PM. He went straight to work, determined the source of the problem and replaced the defective part. The service was professional, courteous, and fairly priced; a real home run when it comes to repair services. I would recommend Dan Reed Major Appliance Repair without hesitation.

  • Shawn is extremely efficient and knowledgeable. Following introductions to myself & my husband [as well as our two dogs], he got right to work doing his analysis, all the while managing to speak with us @ the same time! He found a problem with the washer right away (a spray "straw" from a can of WD 40 was lodged in the drain pump) , and he continued with his analysis. He didn't feel the need to 'push' replacement of the pump; but rather, made some very helpful suggestions as to how much (or more appropriately said, "how little") detergent to use w/ each load, as well as NOT using fabric softener [which itself contains detergents], for one month. He suggested using white vinegar, instead, which is a natural softener. Amazingly, the vinegar does not leave any odor on the clothing. By golly, he was right! The washer is working as it did when it was new, the clothes are soft (even those that I hang on the clothesline), and our towels are softer and more absorbent! Shawn is truly a delightful person - very pleasant, easy to converse with, a great sense of humor, witty, and very polite. Our 10 y..o. Westie, who is extremely protective of me, felt so comfortable with Shawn that he decided to curl up on the floor right beside him, as he was busy working!! Now that's really saying something about "vibes"! Five years ago, we remodeled our kitchen, and believe me, when those appliances need repair, Shawn will be the ONLY one we call. I am thrilled to have Angie's List available, and most thankful that we were able to find Shawn.... ^_^

  • I had used Dan before some years ago and then called him to replace the ice maker on our refridgerator. He ordered the part and installed it as soon as it came in. He did a good job and now we have ice. He was on time and the price of the unit was fixed so the price was in line with what I expected.
