  • Selena Hunter is not my regular vet, but since she covers for my vet during emergencies we've had several occasions to use her services. She is wonderful. The October 2012 visit was an emergency; my dog had a massive tumor which ruptured into his belly. When we arrived there he was in a very bad way (and so were we). Although it was a Friday night and she was missing her son's football game, she was compassionate and caring, never making us feel rushed. She spent considerable time with us, reviewing options, but there really weren't any. We lost our beautiful golden retriever. Selena's warm, knowledgeable presence made it as easy as such an terrible thing can be. When I went some time later to pick up his ashes, the staff member (whom I had never met, and who did not know my dog) teared up as she handed me the ashes. That tells me something about the people in that office.


    We have been to her office before, and our experience has always been similar - knowledge, caring, and common sense. I would recommend her without hesitation.

  • Do NOT go to this place. They are definitely for-profit, greedy folks who do not care about the outcome of the treatment they provide. I wish we would never become their customers in a first place.

    Our eight year old Scottish terrier started to limp and we took him to this hospital. Dr. Averill suggested a simple X-ray test of his leg. During X-ray procedure our dog was hurt so much by Dr.Averill that he could not step on the foot anymore.  Then we were told that he needs an operation because now the ligament was torn completely. We agreed again.  In a conversation about complications of operation we were never told about dangers of anesthesia. Dr.Kenney performed an operation. Our dog died 4 weeks after operation due to the massive liver failure caused by anesthesia. We didn't get any support from the hospital: they right away referred us to the emergency care. Doctors told us that our dog liver was probably not normal from the start. However, he never was diagnosed in this hospital with liver disease and all his blood tests were showing normal levels of liver enzymes before operation.

    We are absolutely devastated: we lost the best friend.

    We will never come back to this place and will make sure no one else does.

  • They're recommended by our vet. They did a really great job so we keep using them. They really know your dogs, pay attention to your dog's needs and learned like groomer to your dog overtime and they're like teachers who can tell you things about your kid that you didn't already know. They talk to you, tell you and teach things to do for your dog. I would use this provider again in the future.

  • Over the years, we've taken all of our cats to Cats Vermont because we trust Dr. Linda Moore and her knowledgeable, dedicated staff. We highly recommend Cats Vermont to anyone who wants conscientious, high-quality care for their felines. That her practice is restricted to cats keeps down on distractions and tensions from other types of animal patients in the waiting room. Dr. Moore has a droll sense of humor and a directness that may be off-putting to some, but she is thorough in answering questions and always involves her clients in discussions about their cats.

  • My 7-year-old cat had been suffering for years from various inflammatory issues. Last February he had a mystery illness, he was lame and was running a fever and his appetite was off. He was sluggish and just not himself. After a number of quite extensive (and expensive) tests, no diagnosis could be made except and quot;fever of unknown origin.and quot; Over the rest of the spring, summer and early fall he never really thrived. We were away for a week in October, and when I came home he looked noticeably thinner, had patches of hair falling out and his ears and upper head were bright red and very hot -- obviously inflammation issues. Since conventional western vet science had failed to help, I took him to Qi on the recommendation of a friend who was a former vet tech. Dr. Nate gave a chinese medical diagnosis that really explained the root of my cat's problem. (I have used Chinese medicine and acupuncture for years personally, so this all made sense to me.) He also gave him acupuncture and some formulas to help alleviate the cause of the inflammatory issues. After 2 months on a new diet and with supportive supplements my cat is better than he's been in years! The entire office staff is very friendly and supportive and Dr. Nate is simply amazing -- his training in both western and eastern modalities means that my cats are getting the best care possible from a vet that is truly committed and caring. The initial visit is a bit pricey but SO worth the investment. The subsequent bills in line with previous vet's bills and the peace of mind I've gotten from my cat's return to health is priceless!

  • A very positive experience from start to finish. The client was comfortable with being handled by all members of her care team. I always felt included in her care. All questions and concerns were answered. Dr. Nate is a wonderful, compassionate provider. His passion to provide holistic care is the reason I was drawn to his clinic. He provides handout information for traditional and Chinese Medical Diagnosis as needed.
    He did acupuncture for another event and that was successful also. He prescribed herbs for her again with positive outcomes.
    He is competitively fair in pricing.
    If holistic care is what you embrace for your animals, this is the best place to go for care.

  • The pricing is very fair compared to the rest of the vet's around. This veterinarian is only for cats so I feel as though the staff and Vets know everything there is to know about the cats. I have been using them for 10 years and am very pleased. I will continue to use them in the future.

  • I needed to board my 15 1/2 year old Pomeranian for 2 nights.  It was her first time.  I had called and inquired about a tour.  The people were very understanding and reassuring.  I went in the same day to view the facility.  They had different areas for different types of dogs. It had an outdoor playground and sectioned off indoor areas in case of inclement weather.  Some of the older dogs stayed inside in the office with the staff.  I preferred my dog to be in the office.  The dogs have their own little rooms, and I love that they do not use crates.  I will definitely use them again!

  • We just moved into the area, and have a 15 year old pomeranian that needs a basic grooming; shampoo, conditioning, and shave.  The person I set the appointment with was very pleasant to talk to and professional.  She understood my concerns regarding my dog, and recommended Heather to me.  On the day of my appointment Heather took the time to "feel out" my dog.  She petted and scratched her for a little bit and was able to hold her to get her ready for her groom.  When I came back, my dog was walking around with all the other dogs.  Unlike Petsmart and Petco, they do not cage them (something that I love).  I have found my groomer and will definitely go back again!

  • This service started out well and stayed that way for several months. I had originally contracted with the person who owned a pet sitting business initially and the 2 women who own it now worked for him. Due to him moving out of state and familiarity with my 3 pets, I contracted with Unity after the original pet sitter left the state. For months, Eve and Kristin were of tremendous help to me as I work long hours on some days. As my 3 pets were older and some had medication requirements, they were very helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty including transporting pets to and from veterinary visits. They were compensated for all of these services and tremendous gratitude was expressed for them. However, during the last few months, there has been a definite change in professionalism and overall attitude. In fact, there disdain toward me was palpable. After carefully considering my options, I decided to stop using their services at the end of the calendar year. I was paid to date and contacted them on 12/30/10 to advise that I would no longer be needing their services. I chose not to go into the details for my decision but thanked them for their services and wished them well. I asked for my keys to be returned by 1/2/11 by 6PM which was 3 days and seemed more than reasonable to me. Eve contacted me by e-mail despite to inquire again why I chose to stop services with them and I responded to the e-mail provided explanation about negative attitude and gave specific examples. I also requested that they not contact me any more about the matter but reminded them that I would like my keys back by 6PM on 1/2/11. I again thanked them for their services in the past. On Sunday evening, I had not received my keys back and sent them a text requesting advisement of where they were if they had been dropped off and if not, request that the keys be returned by 7PM that night or the Burlington Police Dept. would be contacted about the matter. They responded that they had put the keys in the mail on Friday, 12/31/10 but they had not contacted me as I had requested "no contact". This seemed very immature and unprofessional to me but I responded back that this was perfect. However, I spoke to one of the people that worked for them after this who advised that she had returned her keys on Saturday, 1/1/11. As this was confusing, I contacted Kristin and Eve to inquire about this and confirmed that they had made a duplicate set of keys without my permission and sent them back to me when in fact they still had a set of keys. And if I had not discovered this, they would still have them. I contacted them again and suggested they return them that night or would contact the police. I received a final text message from them on morning of 1/3/11 advising that they had put my final set of keys in the mail after consulting with the police dept. I was so angry and disappointed. I have worked with pet sitters for 12 years (mostly in OH and WI but here for the last 5 years) and this is the first time I have ever had anything like this occur. Though highly disappointing, the thing that bothers me the most is that they felt justified to make a set of keys to my home without my permission and attempted to justify it. I want others to be aware of this as it was absolutely egregious. **Please note: There are more minute details that were included in text messages that I have saved but did not include in content above but this represents a detailed overview of the situation.
