    I had called several paint companies prior looking for a quote to paint my downstairs bathroom but couldn't get anyone to call me back. Sean called me back right away and was very quick to give me a quote.     Reworked plumbing and electrical, rebuilt back laundry room, installed new appliances, rebuilt back half bathroom, insulated room, installed new rear sliding door, drywall, tiling on floor, took down kitchen wall and put in a new beam, installed butcher block for breakfast bar Outstanding job, thorough, professional, worked closely with us on design, getting appropriate materials, worked with our vacation and availability, all of the workers on site were excellent, and Mark was responsive and fantastic.     Johnny did a great job across the board. The overall work spanned the course of several months and he was flexible with my schedule and understanding of delays and change of plans, which was greatly appreciated. In terms of work, he did a great job installing floors, trim and painting the downstairs and I have zero complaints. He often offered suggestions that were useful when deciding on a final plan (colors, materials, etc). Where Johnny really excelled was his craftsmanship. He built a coffee table, bathroom mirror and coat rack that are fantastic. They are simple, clean and built from quality materials.

    This is the third project that we have hired Mark for, and for good reason. His bids are very competitive, his responsiveness is second to none and the quality of his work is top notch. He has an incredible attention to detail and approaches every project as if it's his own him. He oversees all aspects of the project, including management of sub contractors, all of who are carefully selected and highly qualified. We are beyond thrilled with the result. As with all renovations, unexpected things always come up. Mark clearly articulated any issues and presented solutions we were happy to work with. He is 100% committed to the job and won't leave until he is sure that we are completely pleased with the result. He was sensitive to our budget and timing needs. We will definitely use Mark for our next project. Highly recommended.

    Before renting our condo, we needed to make few changes to meet Burlington's code for rental units.  I thought all I needed was 4 smoke/co detectors, but Steve helped me find other issues that needed to be addressed in order to meet the code.  Everything he did made sense to me and we passed the inspection flawlessly.  Steve is a great guy, personable, professional and he always returns calls/texts/emails more timely than necessary.

    How did it go? Poorly.
    Joe Gay was a tenacious salesman, and his quote was very competitive price-wise, 2nd lowest we received. We mistook his enthusiasm in follow-up calls after the initial quote in 2012 as, it was just sleezy salesmanship. After those first all-smiles meetings everything went downhill.
    We discussed the work to be done in person multiple times, on the phone again, and had 3 contract revisions before giving a deposit in Spring of 2013. That spring was very bad weather wise and Accent Painting had trouble scheduling us. We were supposed to be done in mid-August, so my wife and I planned on having our colors chosen by then (the paint-scheme was settled in the contract, but not the final hues). But, since his crew was working a job down the street in July and other jobs were getting shifted around due to weather he told us our time slot was now the end of July. Woops! Gotta rush to finalize colors.
    The crew started putting on primer before colors were chosen, and then it turned out that the gray primer they used would show through the light hues we settled on. We had to pay $1500 extra to re-coat so our colors would work. The fact that the mistake was made because we were accommodating his 1 month shift in schedule was not allowed. We paid for their rushing and assumptions.
    Since our house is from 1899 it had previous lead paint. Joe assured us that his crew worked to all the required lead-safe restrictions, but it was obvious they did not. Our neighbors' house was being painted at the same time by a crew that DID use lead-safe practices and the difference was plain to see while they worked within sight of each other. Accent Painting crew did not use water-spray bottles to reduce dust, they did not wear masks or eye protection, they did not hand out pamphlets to all our neighbors alerting them of the work being done, they did not put up a and quot;lead workand quot; sign, they did not clean up all the paint chips at the end of the day (a year later we are still cleaning old paint chips out of our yard and driveway, it went everywhere!), they did not use the lead-safe HEPA filters on their shop vacs (I saw them cleaning the filters).
    Once it became time to actually put the colors up it got worse. Fortunately I work from home, so I was there, because they asked questions about the paint-scheme at least 5 times per day. This is despite me going over the plan verbally many times with every member of the crew and Joe (who never showed on the site once the check cleared), I even pre-painted a section of the porch trim so they had an example they could follow (seriously guys, just look at what's already painted, do that!), finally I took photos of the whole house and used Photoshop to re-color all the trim to give them a map of every surface. I printed out multiple copies of these annotated images. They still messed it up, repeatedly. Every day I had to ask them to re-do an area because it was the wrong color. This was not rocket science, it's a pretty standard Victorian trim scheme, similar to our neighbors' homes. If I had not been home it would have been a disaster.
    Once they got all the right colors in the right places they still did a poor job. Their edging technique is sloppy, there are bleeds and drips throughout, even right at eye level on the porch trim. I understand that trim on the roof 30ft in the air doesn't have to be perfect, but the posts and railings right at eye level by the front door should be will edged. Nope, it's sloppy.
    Finally when it came time to do the window trim Joe claimed that was not included in the contract. it would be an extra $800. I was livid. We had discussed this multiple times. He was condescending and kept telling what a great investment it was and how I should manage my money better. He then took my 2nd upcharge check and left the job site to and quot;go out on my boatand quot;.
    Our interaction on the final walk-through was similar; condescending, telling what I should do with my home and my family. We pointed out several errors in the work and he promised that someone would come by in a week or two to touch up the areas.
    That person never came, and I never followed up because I just couldn't deal with them anymore. I just didn't want anything else to do with Joe or Accent.
    In the end I don't give them an F, because the job did get done, and the final out of pocket price was not different than some of the higher quotes we got...we just didn't get that level of quality or service. I think if you want a cheap done job, and it's REALLY easy (no multi-color jobs, no victorian trim, no lead paint, etc) then Accent Paint could save you some money. They'll slap paint on the side of a building for cheap. Otherwise steer clear.

    They had to work around construction being done in the bedrooms and hallway, which was a bit stressful for everyone, since the work was done on a very tight schedule. The quality of work was very high.
