I purchased a vehicle from Duncans Auto at the end of December (which was inspected 30DEC2014), the day after we purchased the vehicle, the check engine light came on. When I called Duncans and spoke to Al he told me to bring it in and they will take care of it. They believed it was just an issue with the sensor and reset the error codes. The next day the same issue. They told me to bring it in and "discovered" a huge hole in the exhaust (which...if they inspected the vehicle...they would have noticed that). They believed this was causing the issue with my check  engine light. They repaired it. Yet the check engine light came on STILL. After driving the vehicle for a week, I took it in again because of a weird noise. It turns out that whoever repaired the exhaust didn't properly tighten everything. They fixed it. At this point I was calm. I had taken it in SEVERAL times. They finally conceded and told me to have the car looked at by the local AUDI dealership and give them the error codes. A week later I took the car to Audi and got the error codes from AUDI, very specific with the reccomendations on what needs to be done. I took it to them as soon as they opened (about 730). I recieved a call from them less than 4 hours later telling me that everything was done.
At this time I would like to point out that the minimum time it would take for AT LEAST the valve cover is about 2.5 hours. That doesn't include all the other issues (but we'll get to that).
When I took the car home, the next morning the Check engine light came on (AGAIN). I took it to them and they told me it was the Turbo. Ok...so I'm having misfires in all my cylinders and it's the turbo. When I spoke to Kelly she told me to talk to Al about it. He told me this was a completly different set of issues and is not covered by his original "promise" to repair the car. He quoted me about 1050. I told him "I'm still covered under warranty." To which he snapped back "you are only covered for 6 months 6,000 miles." reluctantly I told him I'd do it. I took it in and HAD TO CALL to find out that my engine is shot. I was then told by Kelly (Who per the BBB website is the owner) that she doesn't feel comfortable doing the work because "working on an engine is hard" (are you kidding me...your a garage).

My wife had all the paperwork from our original purchase of the car. Turns out that we have a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. Al told me that the guy who sold me the car "Bob" must have given that in error (actually it was from the inside of the car) but said that "even though he doesn't have to he will honor it," because "He's not a liar." He quoted me over 8000 for the vehicle repair (which unless they are having the engine flown in from Germany is impossible). He said he'd cover half. While the vehicle was under his "I'll take care of it" warranty I mentioned all of the issues (including the turbo), which of course they dismissed.
When my wife to Al, he had admitted that they hadn't done anything when we turned it in with the results from Audi. So...they didn't do any work on the car...but still tell me that this is my fault?
I've already reported them to the Consumer Assistance Program, turns out they have had complaints before for nearly the exact same thing. They are liars, cheats, they sold defective products. And they refuse to refund the money that they I paid for the Lemon.

I was satisfied with out initial transaction. It seemed I received a set of snow tires for a fair price. They worked swiftly and I had my car in about 1.5 hours.
After 2 weeks of driving on these tires I found a flat tire. I brought it back to VT tire, and they took it in and looked at it. They came to the conclusion that it was some thing I had done to the tire as to how the tire. They told me I needed to purchase a new tire. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went ahead and bought another winter tire.
Again, 3 weeks later I had a flat tire, and to no one's surprise it was the same tire that I had purchased twice. Well sure enough I brought it back to them and they took it in took take a look. They came to a new conclusion that it was a and quot;mysteryand quot; as to how the tire went flat. I asked him and quot;how do I avoid this again in the futureand quot;. He convicned me that it might have been a piece of rubber, but ultimately was a and quot;mysteryand quot;. Luckily this time they were able to reuse the tire.
Once more, 3 weeks later I had a third flat tire. And to no one's surprise it was the same tire. This time I brought it back and they took a look at it. It turns out the inflation valve was faulty. It was the same one we had be using this entire time. So now I was on my 4th visit to VT tire, 5th brand new winter tire in two months, and probably 6-10 lost weekday work hours. They fixed the tire for free (as they should) and sent me on my way. I have NO plans to voluntarily go back to them. But I won't be surprised if the tire deflates again.
Ultimately they are professional and courteous, but I found them negligent. They clearly didnt have time to fully inspect my tire and the inflation valve on my initial visit, or the susbequent three visits. This is not something that adds up to a good recommendation, unfortunately.

Very helpful. Extremely reasonable. Will shuttle you to work or home within a reasonable distance and pick you up.  No long waits to get in.  Very accomodating. People are friendly.  They bend over backwards to be helpful and of the workers are polite. Also had to take my daughter's car in for a headlight and tail light Christmas week.  Easy to get an appointment to fit my schedule. Work done quickly.  Again, extremely reasonable.

I put N/A for price.  Even if you have an old BMW, one should expect to pay a lot for service and parts.  The key is to trust them and have a little knowledge of what they are doing.  Also I would expect them to stand by what they do.  Clearly Mike knows BMWs and I was very happy to find someone in Burl, and he is very generous with his knowledge.

The headlamps were expensive, but I had already gotten a similar quote in another city from mechanics that I knew so it was not an unreasonable amount.

Normally the entire head of the engine would have to be removed in order to re-tap the spark plug socket as metal shavings could get into the engine and cause serious destruction.  That method would cost $X,XXX.  The guys at Waterbury Center Auto used a tap covered in grease and made short turns removing it multiple times to remove the grease with shavings attached.  It saved a ton of money which I was very grateful for, and it was done correctly this time around.
I used this shop for 4 years from a friend's recommendation.  It turned out that everyone in town recommended them.  The two owners used to work at the Toyota dealership and then decided to open their own shop.  Their rate at the time was $40/hour....absolutely ridiculously cheap.  The work was impeccable, communication prompt, and it was always enjoyable just visiting their shop.  I have since moved to Burlington and needed a replacement only to find Smith Vehicle Services.  Check them out too....separate review.

Darren is the owner of SVS. He is what we all look for in an auto mechanic in Vermont: honest, very fairly priced ($60/hr), many years of quality experience, professional, and a quick turnaround. I've been having my vehicles repaired by him for the past 5 years. You cannot find another shop as honest and reliable as this one in Burlington. You'd most definitely have to drive way out of town....and then get lucky.
    Highly Recommended.

In ABQ on a cross country trip we had a noise start in the right wheel well.  We called Toyo Masters in the morning and Steve took the call.  We explained our situation, that we were traveling through, and were worried that the van could break down if we did not have this looked at and assessed.  He agreed to look at the car that morning, checked it out immediately after we got there, found the problem, located the replacement part (sway bar bracket) and installed it, all in less then 2 hours.  Amazing service.  Thanks Steve!!!

Friendly staff in the office, Al the mechanic was friendly and professional. Car was basically derelict, despite driving OK and a very presentable body; the incredibly pushy, aggressive seller accused Al of lying and other unprofessional behavior, but the mechanic took it in stride and confirmed (over the voluble protests of the seller) that I should not consider paying for the junker.
Aside, I was pleased at the ease of scheduling and speed of the process. Most garages in my area can't do same- or next-day work, but Al-An's penciled me in and I didn't have to wait around for my turn once I got there.

I consulted with Darren Smith about whether to replace the headlights (an expensive part on this car) or just to have the lenses buffed. He at one time owned an Acura Integra, and was very well aware of the options and issues. He helped me to understand the options, and I decided, as I wanted to keep the car, to go ahead with the replacement. Darren ordered the parts, and installed them quickly, reasonably, and well. He is reasonable, trustworthy, a clear communcator who doesn't offer any unwelcome surprised, and does excellent work. Highly recommended.

Very well! They were easy to schedule an appointment with, they contacted me quickly with the details of work required and the cost. They completed the work on time and my car was ready to go, and had even had the floor vacuumed.

The only issue was that I had mentioned on tire had a slow leak which they forgot to look into; I had them take care of that during my next oil change and they resolved the problem.

I've since recommended Oil N' Go to others and have heard good feedback.
