Boarding reviews in Yorktown

    Pine Meadow Veterinary Hospital
I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED with the treatment my dog received while being boarded. Not only was her jacket left on for 9 DAYS (her entire stay which it should only stay on for 6 hours at most) covered in pee and poop, the anxiety meds she was prescribed was only used once her entire visit. The entire boarding staff failed to do their job. ALSO, the individual who completed her check out checklist noted that she washed Rosie's paws before we picked her up because "she had dog food on her feet". Well Rosie has dry dog food which leaves me to believe that she lied about the dog food on her paws and it was in fact poop. I would NOT recommend their boarding service to anyone, in fact I would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE it. My number is 540-903-7665 if anyone would like more info or PICTURES of her stomach and jacket. Thank you.

    Grafton Animal Hospital
We have been taking our corgi twice a week to Grafton Animal Hospital's daycare.  Because of their care, commitment, and joy working with the animals in day care, our pup has gotten much better with her socialization skills!  She doesn't like meeting "new" dogs/items/routine, but since she has been attending day care (twice a week for nearly a year now), we have found that she handles meeting new dogs on walks much better!  Every time we pick our pup up from day care, she is exhausted from having so much fun that day.  It gives her some much needed exercise, interaction, and socialization opportunities in a controlled and supervised environment.  They take the time to recognize the needs of each pup and place them, on a daily basis, with the appropriate group of dogs.  The staff are always friendly and it's just a joy to take our pup into that environment.  We highly recommend Grafton Animal Hospital's day care facility!

    Poquoson Veterinary Hospital
I think they're great with animals. I feel like we see a different vet every time, which is okay, because they're all good. I'm perfectly comfortable going. The only other thing is, I don't know in comparison to other places, if it's expensive or not, but it seems a little expensive. I think all vet care is. But, I'm not really sure, because I haven't done the research. I don't know that they're above and beyond everything else because I don't really have experience with others. I would recommend them because I don't have any problem with them.

    Grafton Animal Hospital
I've been taking my dogs to Grafton Animal Hospital for many years. The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional in every encounter I have had. I board my dogs there and they are welcomed each time like family. I have had poodles groomed there and I have been pleased, and my poodles love Caroline. The veterinarians and staff are thorough and there is always a follow-up call.

    Dude Ranch Pet Resort
As always, wonderful.  Our girls were taken care of very well.  Unlike other Kennels, they do not come back smelling doggy (even if not bathed first).  Dude Ranch has spacious, immaculate accomodations, an attentive staff and we feel very at ease leaving our girls there.
Though a little pricier than some others, it is marginal, and the service and the facilites are worth it.  Also, unlike some other places, there are no extra charges, for administering medicine, or providing some extra care.
Highly recommend ... we drive out of our way to go to Dude Ranch

    Dude Ranch Pet Resort
We absolutely love Dude Ranch and use it exclusively, even if it requires us to drive more than an hour each way
      - Wonderful, extremely helpful staff.  Very flexible.  We had to cancel one previous reservation at the last minute.  Absolutely no questions asked
       - Beautiful, peaceful setting out in the country
        - Large, air conditioned.  Extremely clean
        - They have large deluxe suites where both of our girls (large dogs) can fit into one
         - They take them out multiple times out into a fenced green area .. lots of area for them to run around in
         - Available playgroup for $7 where are younger one can get her energy out
         - They provided the medicine for our older dog at no extra charge

I know I marked "B" for cost, because it is a little costly, but we haven't found a place close to that quality for the price and they seem to really take good care of our girls.

    The Pet Lodge at Yorktown
Their day care is $20/day or or you can buy packages or get a discount. They are really nice people, love the dogs. If we leave our dog for vacation, we feel comfortable knowing that he will going to a place that he loves to go to and they love and takes good care of him. I love the place and I've been using them close to 2 years now.

Kristen is great. We always bring our dogs to her when we go out of town. Our dogs love her too. We were so happy when we found her a few years ago. She is comparable to the prices of boarding facilities that leave your dogs in a cage all day long, and our dogs get free reign of her house and property. She really cares about the animals she cares for and we will ALWAYs leave our dogs with her.

    The Pet Lodge at Yorktown
I have a medical condition that requires me to go to Bethesda, MD for three days every three or six months. I have three dogs that can not go with me. I have never boarded my dogs before. I have a lab, bulldog and a pit bull. They have a room call little house on the prairie which can house six large dogs, which is perfect for me. My pit bull has separation anxiety and I need her to be boarded with her brothers and here they can all three stay in the same room. The price is great, it was once price for the room not each dog. I boarded them the first in October, 2012, and I was really worried about my dogs. Not really the lab, but mostly the pit. I called once a day and they were very patient and nice to me on the phone. I brought my own food the first time and when I picked them up I forgot the bag and they called me to remind me about the food, instead of just keeping it. I asked to have them bathed and their nails clipped before I picked them up. They charge extra for it, but they do a really good job. When I picked them up, they were really excited and happy. The Pet Lodge takes great care of my dogs and for a good price.
