    Simply put this company has no professional ethics. As the narrative below shows their technician was deceptive in his assessment, obtained money for work that did not need to be performed, and then after they called and promised me at least a partial refund they never followed through. I am reporting them to every regulatory agency I can and may initiate legal action. On 7/13/2019 they responded to a service call at my home for the HVSC A/C tripping the circuit breaker. The technician informed me of the $75 service fee and stated if I had work done that would be deducted from the bill. The technician examined my system and stated the circuit breaker was the right size for the unit then stated the A/C unit was pulling high amperage and required a ���Hard Start Kit��� and a ���top off��� of Freon. He quoted me approximately $135 for the kit and $75 for the Freon which he did not do in writing. At the end of the job he stated that the repairs should resolve the issue and if they did not is was that the compressor in my unit would need to be replaced. The bill was $550.00 and showed no deduction of the service fee. Although this was much higher than he quoted I paid it as I needed the A/C. His explanation was that he was quoting me parts only and the rest was labor. He was here only about an hour doing the work and that seems excessive. Soon after the technician left the breaker tripped again. I called and the technician returned the next day. He first stated the circuit breaker could be damaged but the company were not electricians so could not change it. He then stated that the circuit breaker being bad was unlikely and the reason for the failure was the compressor needed to be replaced and my options were $3,500 for a new compressor or $5,500 for a new outside unit. With the damper system I was interested in purchasing from them for $3,000 the total would have been $6,500 to $8,500. He pressed me to make a decision stating I could get the outside unit the next day or I would have to wait up to 3 days for a new compressor. He also stated that if he changed the compressor or outside unit you would also change the compressor ��� even though he previously stated they could not. The technician also stated the company had not cashed my check and that if I purchased from them they would credit the $550 toward the new system and dampers. Fortunately, I became suspect of these actions and decided not to buy anything from you at that time. I then called another repair company. I explained over the phone what your technician did and sent a copy of the invoice. They informed me I significantly overpaid for both the ���hard start kit��� (which they described as a very inexpensive part) and the Freon. They then requested, over the phone, to photograph the data plate on my unit and the circuit breaker. I did so and was informed that when the new panel was installed the breaker installed for the unit was too small and would naturally trip when there was a high load on the system such as the times of high heat we are currently experiencing. On their recommendation I purchased the correct breaker as reflected on the data plate; installed it by cutting the power and changing two wires; and the system works fine. The other company has a tech come by to check the system and there is no issue with the compressor. They did all that AT NO COST. In conclusion, I feel I was significantly over-charged for some work I did not need (definitely the Hard start kit) and that they almost talked me into very expensive new system I did not need when the problem was a $9.95 breaker from Lowe���s. Just for your information, the old breaker is fine. It was just the wrong size. I then wrote the company. They called me with soem story on how the technician was fired for similar complaints and they were going to talk to the owner about repaying me "at least half" of the monies I paid. I never heard form them again.

    I have been an ANI customer for over 20 years, paying them over $35,000, and they have been great, reliable, professional, and thorough up until this year. But then we had 2 disastrous floods both upstairs and in the crawl space because they failed to suck out the condensation drains during their annual spring servicing causing the upstairs air handler unit back up and flood the wood hallway and the downstairs unit to flood the crawl space. The upstairs oak hallway had to be replaced for $3200, the crawl space vacuumed out, both upstairs and crawlspace ducts replaced, air handler cleaned, stop switches installed, and new traps installed totally costing another $2300. ANI refused any liability for any of the damage. When the service technician came to vacuum out the crawl space, I got a face full of resentment from the technician who apparently felt put out. Then, as a result of their upstairs air handler repairs we had an electrical issue with the upstairs heat. They came out twice but couldn't fix it. I had to have an electrician resolve the problem. ANI did give me a refund on that service call. THEN THEY HAD THE GALL TO FIRE ME AS A CUSTOMER!!! That's the last time I will hire them.

    Jeff came out to check out my AC unit, which had stopped working. He arrived early, and quickly found and fixed the problem. He also checked the coolant levels and gave me a quick assessment of the heath of my system. He was knowledgeable, courteous and very east to work with. The price for the service call was very reasonable. They did a great job and I will definitely use them again in the future if the need arises.

    Scheduled response to request was very fast...a day. Technicians diagnosed system, found likely culprit. Came back couple days later, did more thorough diagnosis, bled system and refilled refrigerant; work that takes better part of day. Professional, knowledgeable, explained all work and answered all questions . Even used shoe "booties; slip-ons" when inside the house.

    Scheduled through Home Warranty of America, so there was no cost per se minus the $100 deductible to HWA. Motor was under warranty still by couple months (cheap Goodman garbage) so HWA paid for labor. The technicians came on time, were professional, answered questions, checked system out and then replaced motor in follow-up visit.

    I called and schedule an appointment for today. They called me 5 minutes before they were due to arrive to tell me they would not be coming and said they could reschedule for another day. I am an ill senior citizen with an AC system on the fritz, I cannot wait to have this done. I am extremely disappointed in their last of reliability. They do not seem to care about providing good customer care or providing good care to repeat customers. I will not be using their services again.

    Checked problem unit with non-running motor, evaluated and determined that motor is intermittently stopping between runs with possibility of failure and overheating refrigerant unit/portion. Recommended motor replacement; motor still under warranty. Thorough and friendly service. Would've followed through, but home warranty company made it difficult to go outside their established network. Will call on these guys when needed and home warranty company not involved.

    We had both of our 24-year-old Ruud heating/AC units replaced. Wade Bristow did phenomenal work. If you've never heard of Ashett Mechanical, it is a relatively new company, but Wade has been doing HVAC work in Hampton Roads for years. The job was performed superbly, and with three people on the job, the project only took one day. What really stood out, however, was the price. The competition is charging THOUSANDS of dollars more to install the exact same equipment. No matter which provider you go with, ask them to break down the cost of the material vs. the cost of the labor. Chances are you will be astonished. My family saved thousands of dollars thanks to Wade Bristow and Ashett Mechanical.

    The initial installation of our new system appeared to go well, however, when we turned the heat on for the first time about a week later, the house never warmed up. The next day my wife called Advantage & they made a same day appointment and promised to arrive at our house between 12:00 - 3:00. The repairman did not make the appointment on time nor did anyone from Advantage call to notify us of a delay. When I arrived home after 4:00 my wife was on the phone with Advantage (my wife initiated the call). The Advantage phone rep was explaining to my wife in a very condescending way that they were busy and worked us into the schedule as best they could. She made it seem like Advantage was doing us a huge favor. The repairman arrived about 4:45 PM and right at 5:00 told us our brand new Trane system had a bad thermostat control board that had to be replaced. He also informed us he couldn't get the part that day because the parts warehouse closed at 5:00 PM. When I informed him that we have a pet that cannot be exposed to cold temperatures, he replied that we would have to buy a space heater because there was nothing he could do! Although I told the repairman I expected the system fixed immediately the next day, we were again simply "fit in" to a time convenient only to Advantage. There is no excuse whatsoever for Advantage's total lack of communication with regard to meeting their schedule appointment with us. If they had been on time, getting parts would not have been an issue. It's blatantly obvious the installation technician never bothered to ensure the heat actually worked - he only verified the fan came on when the thermostat called for it. I still cannot believe Advantage's "fix" for us not having heat was to tell us to spend over $90 on space heaters. The last straw for us was being forced to wait the next day until midday, after the repair tech completed other jobs ahead of ours. There is absolutely no "Advantage" to using this company. They simply don't live up to their promises, communicate with customers, and then tell customers to spend more money to work around a situation Advantage caused through their own actions.

    Great! Contractor owner showed up on time and demonstrated high expertise in servicing these high end carrier systems flawlessly. Went beyond the simple refrigerant charge process to understand some causes for the leaks without a separate visit. Took actions to repair the leaking service fittings connections at the 2 compressor units. Answered expertly all my questions. I had a LOT of questions. Will be seeking out this contractor in future based on our service experience. -wmk
