    New River Heating & Air Inc
    It took them over a month to install my new furnace. They kept giving me excuses as to why they had to cancel two appointments before they finally showed up to do the job. Then they had to make several more appointments to come back at a later time so the system actually worked properly. Then their service got even worse and they were sending people out to do biannual service contract inspections who did nothing more than walk around my basement and talk on their cell phones and then check off everything on the service maintenance list that indicated that they had performed those services, tell me they were finished and leave after ten minutes. I complained about this and they agreed I wasn't given appropriate inspections and sent my money back for a one year service contract. Then the thermostat stopped working and they came out to tell me ti no longer worked in order a order me a replacement thermostat since it was still under warranty with lennox but when they came back to put it on the technician had no idea what he was doing and then they sent out the service manager who fixed the connectivity issue but failed to enable the emergency heat but by the time I realized something was still with my newly installed thermostat it was time to renew my service contract and they refused and said they no longer wanted me as a customer so I was forced to hire another company do do what New River Heating and Air should have done. I then filled a BBB complaint and New River heating and Air settled it by reimburse me for the cost associated with installing the thermostat that I had paid them. In my experience they do not have the technicians working for them that have any idea how to work on or service a newer Lennox Furnace system that they are selling. Not once did they send out a service technician where they didn't have the make another appointment to send out the service manager to come back after them.

    The installation was done excellently by the Blue Ridge Heating & Air techs. They were courteous, efficient, hardworking, and did a great job for us. The only issue we had wasn't with them, it was with the scheduling between the propane provider and them. Lowes should have acted as a better general contractor as far as being the project coordinator since it was Lowes through which we had purchased the generator and the Rinnai system and they set up the installation. (The $12000 project cost listed above includes both the purchase of the generator and Rinnai system and their installation. The propane company's charges were extra.). I had to make a lot of phone calls to the propane company because of scheduling issues regarding filling the tanks and getting the inspections done so that the Blue Ridge Heating & Air techs could get their final work done. The tanks were locked, so they couldn't finish up until the propane tech made his final inspection and did his leak-testing. The whole process took longer than had been promised when we signed the contract with Lowes. Again, Blue Ridge Heating & Air was great. It was the scheduling between the two companies that was the problem. Lowes should have been more proactive in this regard.

    Excellent. Technicians were professional, fast and curtious. The estimate came back te same day josh came to look at the system. Thy finished a day early and they hooked my wood stove to the trunk line for free. I would have them do any hvac systems in the future

    I do not like that I'm back here (late-January) updating a review of any company for which I had previously left such a glowing review.  But, in good conscience, I must.



    First, however, let me be clear that this update relates ONLY to the electrical aspect to my initial review.  The plumbing aspect is all good still.



    Ok, so on with the update.



    Not long after I had this company out to review my electrical system, I discovered (or should say re-discovered; I forgot about this issue when they first came out so certainly not their fault that it didn't get addressed at that time) that several of my outlets are not working.  In recent and ongoing discussions with others who I trust and believe about what the issue could be, we've come to a consensus that (at least) one wiring configuration, the one for the suspected breaker, is not done correctly.  Now, be aware that this company DID NOT do the wiring.  Their task for me back in September 2014 was to review the wiring to ensure that it all was good.



    If our consensus is correct, which I believe it is, then this company should've caught that and helped me get it corrected.  They did not.  As a result, I'm not confident enough in this company to call them back to address the issue.



    Just to be clear, I've not yet had a qualified and honest electrician come and confirm our consensus, so I cannot say with 100% surety that this company did wrong by me in this one area.  But, again, I do not have enough confidence in them to have them back out.



    Finally, let me restate that from the plumbing aspect, they did a GREAT JOB, and I'm very pleased with how that small project turned out.  I just wish I felt the same way about the electrical.



    In any event, I wanted to be honest and forthcoming about my experience with this company now that I've run into something that I am sure they should've noticed and corrected, IF INDEED MY EXISTING WIRING WAS NOT DONE PROPERLY.



    For plumbing, I'm sure I'd call them back.  They did great by me on that.

    The same guys did both the plumbing and electrical work I needed.  How convenient is that?  The guys actually came twice as I needed a new valve, which neither of us had, for the bathroom.  On that first visit, however, they checked out my pressure tank (it was working fine) and answered my sump pump questions.  They also ensured that all was good with the circuit breaker boxes.  So getting done what we could on that first visit, I had them come back a second time to get the valve (in fact, the entire shower/faucet/drain kit) replaced.  As usual, they were professional, pleasant and did a great job.  It'll be great to have my son taking showers again!  Seriously, E & L Diamond has really been there for me.  I have no doubt that I would contact them in a heartbeat with other electrical, HVAC and plumbing issues.

    I first contacted E&L Diamond on August 31, 2014, via the Angie's List messaging system.  E&L Diamond responded within a few days.  It was their suggestion that I call them, which I did (on September 3).

    In speaking with Steve, we discussed the work I needed (electrical, plumbing and HVAC) and a mutually-workable date and time to have them come.  Steve was professional, respectful and pleasant, explaning to me, among other things, how their scheduling process works (HVAC is scheduled separately from both electrical and plumbing) and that I might have someone for HVAC as early as the next day (that would be today, September 4).  Early-afternoon on September 4, I got a call from E&L Diamond informing me that one of their technicians could be at the house this afternoon, if that would work.  Within about an hour, Leon drove up and we talked about the work I need done.  Leon was courteous and got right to work.  After checking the downstairs furnace, he went into the attic and checked that one.  Next, we went outside to the two heat pumps.  He said everything looked good, providing some tips as well as answering some questions regarding things I can do to ensure these devices continue to work well.

    At this time, I am still on the schedule for early next week (week of September 8) to have their electrician and plumber come out to tend to those issues.

    All I can say at this time is that E&L Diamond did right by me.  They were here within a day of first phone contact and did a great job.  And I have no doubt that their electrical and plumbing services will be just as satisfying.
    I'll write another review once we get that work done.

    Called about the problem and they were here early the next morning. They were able to "fit me in" to what was a busy time for them, a mid-July heat wave. Located the source of what I thought was undue noise. They explained that the system was actually just kicking into "overdrive" because of the extended heat wave and that the noise was not unusual. While they were here they performed annual servicing and cleaning.
