    Rent-A-Pro Handyman Services LLC
Definitely would hire again. The business owner submitted a detailed invoice to let us know what to expect for the job. When I had questions about the project I received very detailed answers. I felt comfortable that the company understood our project and how to handle building the shed. The installer, Pete, was very knowledgeable about how to handle the project. Upon completion the area was left clean and spotless.

They replaced the doors on my 19 year old shed. Fast response to my inquiry, great communications from start-to-finish, and excellent craftsmanship. Doors look great and I highly recommend them. Will use again when Im ready to replace the shed.

    VirginiaRemodelings.com
Rick from VirginiaRemodelings.com is the only contractor I will use from now on. When my husband and I discovered that termites had eaten through the header above our front door, we found that no one wanted to take on the job, or if they did it would cost us well above 10 grand. I was so happy to find Rick on Angie's List and when I saw so many positive reviews, I visited his website, and was quite impressed. I promptly contacted them by responding to the contact form on their website. I received a response within the hour! Rick came out to look at the damage the very next day, on a Sunday morning! His thoughtful approach to a difficult problem put us at ease, as we had been told by another contractor that our large picture windows would need to be removed, which would add several thousands to the cost. Rick reassured us that would not be necessary, and that the cost would be less than half what the other guy quoted. Rick then worked up a detailed estimate, point by point, exactly what would be done. I have never had a contractor take so much care in writing an estimate. The price quoted was so reasonable and we were so comfortable talking with him that we decided to go ahead. Rick scheduled the job to begin on a Tuesday morning, and both he and Ed, his highly skilled employee, arrived at 8:30 am as promised. They worked diligently and skillfully for full days (not rushing off to another job) in the hot July sun, and worked all week long. Rick came back on a Saturday morning because he wanted to add an extra detail to the job, which he explained later, but which I would never have noticed needed to be done- one of those hidden areas that only a man of integrity would be bothered by if it had not been done. He did not ring the doorbell to tell us about it, just set about to get it done at 7am on a Saturday morning, while we snoozed! For those of you who have an eye for detail such as myself, I couldn't be happier. Usually, mitred corners are a disappointment, with gaps open and excess caulk added to fill the spaces. Not so with these meticulous craftsmen. The joined edges are perfectly matched, mitred corners perfectly mitred, door brackets level, door hanging plumb and level, and all lines crisp and perfect. I can't believe I found someone who pays attention to these details and has the skill to accomplish it! The front of our home looks just beautiful now, whereas it looked so bad just weeks ago, with unsightly plastic bags covering the damage, and the HOA issuing a letter of notice. We could not be happier with Rick at VirginiaRemodelings.com. This is a man of integrity, skill, and someone with whom you can feel totally at ease knowing that you can speak freely without the fear of being taken advantage of. If you want to believe that there really are people with integrity out there, trust Rick, and put him to the test. You absolutely will not be disappointed. After decades of disappointment with contractors ripping us off, leaving halfway through the job, doing poor quality work, having to babysit the job, etc. my husband and I can now confidently call our man, Rick, and know that we are in excellent hands! I can't wait to tell my friends!

    A Carney Construction
Excellent, the deck was fixed quickly and professionally. The gate was a tough fix and while he repaired it, the fence shifted some after a heavy rain, I let him know and he promptly came back free of charge to make it right.

    JP Companies Inc
Someone came out for the Sports Court Estimate but never provided an estimate. Made several follow up calls to attempt to get my promised estimate and have received no reaponse. I also never received a promised visit from the person who does estimates for the detached garage. Very unprofessional and just rude.

    Outdoor Home Center
We went to the "show area" located in Manassas. It was a little confusing because there are two different companies back-to-back. The other company was closed, so we traveled back up the hill to Outdoor Home Center. They answered our questions and were not hoovering over us ready to make a sale. After deciding to go with Outdoor Home Center, they came out to our home and discussed prices and options. There were a lot of options available, so we were able to customize our shed. Because of our hilly backyard, we needed framework done. This was explained early so there were no cost surprises. The only misunderstanding was another person (whom works with them, but another company) that actually did the framework. We felt uncomfortable just writing him a check, so we contacted the Outdoor Home Center. They quickly responded saying he does their framework for all of their clients. We requested an estimate, which he provided within a day and e-mailed the document for our files. They gave us a date for building the shed, that was changed once, but we received a call to confirm the change. In fact, the shed was built earlier than anticipated. They told us they would be there by 6:30am and start work by 7:00am. They were exactly on time and ready to work. The shed came semi-constructed. They just had to assemble the sides, floor and roof. The workers were kind, fast and reliable. I think it took less than three hours to complete. We watched them from our deck, and it was like watching a puzzle being put together. The shed is exactly what we expected. We hope to enjoy the extra storage for years to come.

    Moss Building & Design
It was a terrific experience!  When I called to ask about the deal from Angies List, the manager on the phone was incredibly helpful.  She even went as far as letting me know the supplies I would probably need to provide in order to get the most out of my 8 hours.
Once the day came, the electrician came out and was one of the more polite people I've had the pleasure of working with.  He was a little late, but I understand that traffic is incredibly unpredictable.  He did a walkthrough, asked me to prioritize the projects, and then quickly went to work.  He was courteous, and explained to me why he had to change the way a few things were done(for example where the jack had to be installed, due to a steel beam in the wall)  He didn't get to all the tasks, but it's because my list was ambitious.  He did however give me an idea of the time it would take to complete the list, and I'll be setting up an appointment soon!

Mr. Handyman of Northern Virginia - Arlington to Haymarket
My dishwasher water pump failed and leaked water into the downstairs family room ceiling.
The water damaged an 8 foot by 12 foot section of ceiling drywall.  I removed the damaged drywall
and dried the area.  I hired Mr. Handyman to prepare the ceiling and install new drywall and prime paint.
It takes a skilled drywall installer to do a quality job.  Mr. Handyman, specifically Dan and Robbie did an excellent job.
Dan came on the first day and surveyed the job.  He left to purchase the materials which took about an hour and went right to work.
He prepared the ceiling by cutting out additional drywall and built a support structure to attach the new drywall.
He worked for 8 hours and then left to let the mud dry.  The next morning Robbie came to finish the job.
The total job took about 12 hours and both men worked very efficiently.
So overall the 12 hours cost $1000 (I had a $100 off coupon) which is reasonable for this type of work.
They did an excellent job and cleaned up when completed.
I have used Mr Handyman for several jobs in the past and have always been satisfied.

There were a few bumps along the way with schedules. But the wait was worth it. I have a high quality built garage that neighbors and friends rave about. I will look to do work the Steadfast again.

    Outdoor Escapes
Overall:  I am very proud of my new / expanded deck, and would unhesitatingly have chosen Outdoor
Escapes to do the job all over again!
    First the bad.
I bought the coupon for the deck in April. The construction
started in August. The bulk of the work was done then, and some loose ends
tidied up later. Outdoor Escapes will say the delay was due to the weather
(rain). I think this is largely the reason, but I also suspect so many people
took advantage of their Deck Deal, that there may have been a capacity problem.
    Medium:
Even with the discount for labor, the work was not
inexpensive. But, you definitely get what you pay for; and, I had some
additional add-ons, like the herringbone pattern planking, fitting the new deck
in with an existing deck, fixing some of the old deck planks, and installing a
new sliding glass door off the main bedroom.
    The Good.
They handled everything from soup-to-nuts, including the
permits, the designs, the inspections, etc. I had to clear it with the HOA, but
they supplied all of the documents I needed outside of the actual application.
The deck is WONDERFUL! It is very large, yet right-sized for
my yard and house. I feel it has added so much to my enjoyment of the property
and it is absolutely beautiful. It was built to join with the existing, yet not
very functional  10x13 I already had. The
old deck had no stairs down to the yard, and only a door from the kitchen. Now
the deck has a sliding glass door off the bedroom and very attractive stairs to
the ground. From a safety standpoint, this is quite an upgrade over going out a
window via flexible ladder that my beloved dogs would never have been able to
    negotiate.
I absolutely LOVE my deck and it was worth every penny.
James Parascand was very easy to work with.
Armando, who was the site supervisor, is a true artist and included a lot of
flourishes that make the deck so attractive. I can tell the man loves his work!
The whole team was very professional and punctual.
John Dodson came by later and finished up the area around the sliding door. His
workmanship is first class, and he spared no detail to get it looking just right.
