    We started using Apple Blossom Family Practice after we were married, so back in 2010. At first everything was fine; the office staff were rude, but I loved the doctor I was seeing as well as the nurse, so I could ignore blatant rudeness in order to see the actual care providers I liked. Unfortunately, the doctor I loved was offered a position in her home state, and she moved (not that I blame her). After that I would be assigned with a new doctor, who would only stick around for a few months before they would move on to better opportunities, and the process would start over again.
       There was absolutely zero communication between doctors, so most of the time everything was up in the air. Luckily the medications I am on I have been on my entire life, so there really wasn't any concern with changing my dosages around (except one time when one genius thought it would be GREAT to up the milligrams of one of them and I became frighteningly ill). Now, that isn't to say they were actually fulfilling their duties as medical providers. There were several times when they would just neglect to respond to the pharmacy for days before allowing the refill to go through, but with those prescriptions the medications were built up in my system, and while it wasn't exactly fun to be without them for a stretch of time, I wasn't in any danger.
    Until this week.
    It is summer, and I am asthmatic. I was born with asthma, and have lived with it my entire life. Furthermore, I have a very difficult to control asthma (even with the help of additional medications), and so this time of year is very hard for me due to the humidity and outdoor allergens of the area. Thus, it is of absolutely no surprise that I need my inhaler simply to live.
    I've been using my inhaler a lot lately due to the reasons expressed above, and when I noticed it was getting low (25 puffs left), I called to have it refilled. I saw on the box there weren't any refills available (for crying out loud, seriously?), so I called my pharmacy to have the refill authorized through the office. Now, if you call the nurse's station to get a refill, they simply will not help you and will only tell you to call your pharmacy and have them fax the refill request over to them. So I did, on a Monday. I start to worry as the days tick by and my inhaler is getting lower and lower...still nothing. Luckily my mother has asthma as well (which is where I must get it), and she was kind enough to give me one of her extras. If she hadn't, I would have had to go to the emergency room for treatment, or worse.
    By Wednesday the puff count was 00.
       Now today, Friday, I went to my pharmacy to get a refill on one of my other medications (that I fortunately did have a refill on) and asked to pick up my inhaler as well. The Pharmacist said they still hadn't heard anything from the doctor's office, and had sent another request again today. I am absolutely, positively, floored. I can't believe any doctor's office would be so incredibly neglectful that they would let something so vitally important "slip". The fact of the matter is my asthma can kill me, and almost has several times in my life. It's not like that information isn't there in my medical history. Thank goodness my mother's doctor provides her with extras, because if not, I would be in the hospital right now. The HOSPITAL because my DOCTOR'S OFFICE doesn't take medical necessities SERIOUSLY.
       Unfortunately, this is just the awful experience I have had, this doesn't even touch on my husband and what he has gone through from this office. Now, his medical complaints are his to share or not, but I will say this: they put him on a short-life medication that could kill him if not taken on the dot everyday, then literally forgot to reply to the pharmacist to have it refilled twice. They like to change up his meds every time he goes through the door, so he simply won't go to the doctor unless he has to do so.
       The doctor's office is the last place I want to play Russian Roulette with my life. So if you need a doctor, please do yourself and your loved one a favor and stay far, FAR away from Apple Blossom Family Practice.

    Everything always goes well.  She tells me what I am doing wrong and then tells me what I need to do to correct it.  As with most patients I usually do not listen and have to keep going back.  If I listened to what she says then I would only see her once a year for a physical.

    They explained why I am having the lowerback pain and provide a prescription drug to avoid the pain. It was suggested that I consider visiting a chiropractor or a physical trainer. The doctor also showed me different types of stretches and exercise that I can use to strengthen my lower back.

    She has several physician assistants and I've seen one during my first visit. I believe that an office's front desk reflects the whole practice and if I wasn't able to look beyond that, we might have missed out on a fairly decent doctor and staff. She also refers patients to a rheumatologist in Northern Virginia because we don't have a good rheumatologist here in Winchester.

    Dr. Omundsen and Staff take their time with each patient which ensures understanding of issues by Staff and Patient.  Dr. Omundsen is extremely professional but still maintains a pleasant bedside manner.  She was able to get to root of issues and prescribe a regiment of care - not just a prescription.

    She's very personable and takes her time with me. I don't feel like I'm rushed around. She remembers my name, even though she sees countless other people. It's actually a brand new building so her office is clean. She takes her time to explain.

    We've used Selma Medical Associates Inc for 16 years. Doctors are never punctual. They have an open door clinic that accompanies their practice. If you are a patient at Selma and you go to the walk-in clinic, they see you almost immediately. If they are busy down there, they drop you in to whatever Doctor or General Practitioner within the larger practice is fairly free. If you have a regular appointment, you can sit and wait forever. But if you need to be seen - I woke up and I had been sick for a week and I was sick and tired of being sick, and I drove over there and got there at 7.30 - I was out and on my way by 8.15. It took me less than half an hour to be in and out. I saw the Physician's Assistant, got my antibiotic, and left. I like the open door clinic. They are fine, they are fast and do their thing. The clinic is open from 7 to 7. It doesn't have an office, there is just a waiting room and a couple of examining rooms. The staff is all very professional.

    The appointment was for my husband, I remained in the room while Dr. Duck reviewed his medical records , our concern was the
    medication that had been prescribed, which we had discontinued, due to the side effects, we also wanted him to review all the prior test results, so he would have an over all picture of the status of my husband's health in general. Dr. Duck took a great deal of time, explained his procedures, as well as ordered a liver profile which was necessary due to a medication which my husband started the end of October. We left feeling assured that we had found a caring, understanding family doctor, we are more than pleased. The entire staff at Valley Family Practice was more than helpful, professional, friendly, we would highly recommend this doctor as well as his practice.

    So far it appears to have had the desired effect. The dosage was lowered a bit to address concerns I had about side-effects, and so far the side-effects appear to have decreased significantly.

    This doctor has the best rapport with his patients. My husband was having some problems with medication and so he worked with him to get him the medication that switched his problem and has him on the right track to getting healthy. He genuinely cares. He treats you like family.
