    PRO Physical Therapy
Everyone in the office is very friendly and the hours of operation are great! I was able to obtain appointments early in the morning and late in the afternoon/ so that my work day had as little interruption as possible. I am feeling better and the treatments have been very effective. The only thing I wasn't happy with is that it can get very busy in there some days and I felt like I got lost in the shuffle a couple of times. Still, I would go back and would recommend them to my friends.

Physical Therapy Specialists of Winchester Inc
The therapy is effective and it's not painful like some physical therapists are. They are friendly. For some reason if I can't make it that day, they will bill me. I am satisfied with them. The results they garner are very good. The people are confident and friendly.

Dr. Evan has been treating my leg for some time. Instead of using usual chiropractic methods, he obtained a cold lazer machine which greatly reduces the pain. Additionally, his manner is intelligent and humorous, greatly reducing any stress I may be feeling at the time.

    Lykins Chiropractic Center
They are wonderful. Every time I go there I have them for several different injuries and problems and they are just marvelous. They are very concern about their patients and they take care of everybody in a professional manner and yet they are very, very personal.

    Voll, Dr. Darrell
He is knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and competent. He takes into consideration other factors in your life that could be affecting your overall health, and gives suggestions to improve overall health. While he does usually recommend ongoing treatment, it is for a specific time period and tapers off (as opposed to other chiros I've been to that just seem to want to set you up for 3x a week for life!).
They do not accept insurance but their office visits are barely more than my co-pay would be anyway. They do offer a discount for multiple family members.

    Virginia Brain & Spine Center
Dr Chadduck provided a logical and fairly complete prognosis and indicated both long and short-term treatments that might help.
I should add that Dr Chadduck is extremely busy and hard to schedule, a natural consequence of today's medical business models and high demands for his excellent services. His colleague, Dr Poss, is also in high demand.
The short term treatment involved steroid injections directly into the spinal column, provided by Dr Michael Poss. I've had two such injections and they have provided enough relief to allow me modest activity and a fifty-percent diminution in pain. The technology in providing these steroid injections precisely is most impressive and involve real-time x-ray while delivering the injections. The efficiency of this aspect of medical practice is impressive but is demanded by medicare and insurance payments to providers.
The long-term treatment is surgery involving fusion. Opinions on its efficacy are mixed and all are couched in probabilities.
I shall gladly continue to deal with VA Brain and Spine.

    Cornerstone Sports & Orthopaedic Surgery
I came to CSOS when it was a fairly new practice. I had to wait three weeks before my first visit, which I believe is about a week more than average and rather compromising for someone with a severe knee injury and whose job requires her to be on her feet. I attempted to find another physician that would see me sooner, but ultimately opted to wait and see Dr. Duncan because of his speciality in sports medicine and the convenience of the location of his office. I waited for over an hour during each visit before I was seen by the doctor, which is pretty lousy, but they do a decent job of keeping the waiting room stocked with good reading material (lots of National Geographic). Bring your iPod or a book, and it will make the wait much more tolerable. If you're really getting into an article in a magazine, be sure to bring it back to the room with you once you've been called because you're probably going to do a good amount of waiting once you've gone back, too.

My diagnosis was particulary difficult because the physical examination didn't produce the characteristic signs of the injury. When I had questions and concerns after my appointment, Dr. Duncan and I further discussed my treatment over the phone, during which he recommended an MRI. The MRI reveled an large meniscal tear, and surgery was scheduled. Because of the extent of my injury, the surgery was difficult, but it was successful, and my recovery, which is still in progress, looks very promising.

I think that my diagnosis and treatment took longer than it should've due to some administrative kinks and timing issues. I assume the problems stem from the fact that the practice is new, and I anticipate that they will improve in short time. Always make sure that your next appointment is scheduled before you leave the office, and it's a good idea to call after procedures like MRIs and other out-of-office tests to confirm your follow-up appointments. And don't forget to plan accordingly for those lengthy waits during appointments. Make sure you have a clear schedule with no important engagements at least a three hours after your appointment time. Despite all of this, Dr. Duncan and his staff are very friendly and knowledgable. If you have a complex injury, then you can rest assured that they will put in the effort to discern the best possible treatment for your condition. He is a skilled and patient surgeon, dedicated to giving his patients the care they deserve.
