    Animal Clinic And Wellness Center
If You Are a New Client, Be Prepared for a Real Ride. A great clinic can be ruined by an indifferent administrative staff . To relate a recent experience. I transferred two dogs from another practice to Wellness. Normally such a transfer involves swapping shot records and is done, as a professional courtesy, by the acquiring office. The Wellness staff refuses to do this - it only takes 5 minutes but is obviously overwhelming. Ok, so I get copies and send Wellness the records by email and fax a week before the appointment. I arrive with the dogs and as I'm entering the exam I look at the Wellness paperwork and it's for a one year rabies vaccination, not the three that I would otherwise be entitled to. I would literally have to pay another $200 next year. I start to walk out and as I was leaving asked them where are the records - they deny they received them. Unfortunately one of the girls surfing the email then says she found them - they are caught in a lie but it was a nice attempt at unnecessary bill padding. I ask about calling the prior clinic to get the third dogs records and they go into an elaborate song and dance how all their communications systems are down due to Florence. I smile pick up my cell phone, turn on the speaker and hit speed dial and am immediately connected. Caught in another lie. If you are going to be a client here; then check the vaccination dates, check the bill, and be prepared for down-low customer service.

    COLONIAL VETERINARY CLINIC
We have a rescue dog and they have worked with us very closely taking care of him. They checked his ears, weighed him and considered treatment to figure out when he seems to always be hungry. They have been our vet for 15 years.

They show great concern for their human clients and also for the pets that they take care of. They are courteous and professional. My pets interact with them very well. Over the past 4 years they've taken care of 2 cats and 2 dogs and they have done well on all.

    Godspeed Animal Care
Comparatively their pricing was in the ballpark. That's amazing that the wait time is only about 10 minutes. I've been there twice. He is a dog whisperer. My dog likes him. They are kind and gentle health providers.

    NOAH'S ARK VETERINARY HOSPITAL
I've been with them for 14 years now, and they are outstanding. I board my dog there all the time. Over the 15 years I've had  probably six dogs that they've taken care of over that time. I had five dogs at once, now I have one. I do all my medical and just about everything, they euthanized dogs that were ill, took care of dogs with tumors. They offer a complete service. I buy dog food there.

    Paws & Claws Pet Sitters
Both animals need medication, and it isn't easy to administer. The woman who tended the cats was able to do it efficiently and without upsetting them. She also made sure to keep litter boxes clean and to play with the cats. She seems to have genuine affection for pets and handles them with gentleness and confidence. When we returned home both cats were relaxed, happy, and healthy. We will call on Paws and Claws whenever we need to go out of town.

There has been a significant turn-over in personnel and new ownership since my (2012) review. Though the quality of care remains high with knowledgeable DVMs, I am no longer impressed with the vet-techs and especially disappointed with front desk staff. Convenience is why we initially chose this vet many years ago as it is <2 miles from our house. Recently I called to schedule a check up because our dog had developed a cough- I was pleasantly surprised that I was offered an appointment in 30 minutes, I packed him up and was there in 20 minutes- and there we sat for more than 40 minutes! 40 minutes in the front lobby after I reminded them that the concern was for kennel cough. We were finally taken to an exam room on the cat side because of his cough, we met the vet an he was examined, we collectively opted for conservative management thinking it was viral and would pass in 6-10 days, I was offered a cough suppressant and analgesic that I initially declined and chose to get the following day. Over the many years we've used this vet we've been seen by many providers, I believe that many are completing residency requirements and simply move on and all have been very good and thoughtful. I do envy others who seem to be able to develop relationships over time with there 1 (or 2) DVM. The low grades in Punctuality and Professionalism are reflections of the front office personnel and apparent inattention of a potentially highly contagious disease. If the DVM was going to lunch, tied up with another client, or otherwise unavailable this could have been addressed on my initial call or when we arrived, when we arrived we should have been taken to an exam room quickly. I am less concerned with the 40 minute wait than the delay in being "quarantined".

    Jolly Pond Veterinary Hospital
The cost of her basic yearly checkup including her blood test and fecal test is around $150. I have been going there for about eight years now. I like the veterinarians that are there and they seem to really care about the animals. I had called them on a weekend and they came out and helped her out.

We have had them care for our dog for the 12 years of his life. Fees were once reasonable, but since Dr. Lessinger left they are charging more and recommending a lot more services. If you are rich by all means use this clinic. I think that they do good work, but I suspect they are also paying off college loans. If we are giving our dog a heartworm pill every month does he really need a $66 test for heartworms as well every 6 months? How about once a year. Wellness exam $50, Medical Waste $3.25, Heartworn/Lyme/Ehrl/Anapl 3DX Plus (heartworm test) $66, IDX Fecal Ova/ Paras/Zinc Sulf $35, Gentaspray 60ml bottle $22.46, Bordetella Vaccine 6 month $27.00, Heartguard Plus blue $37.50.
