    Paul McMenamin MD
Dr. McMenemin returned my phone call within 15 minutes and came in on a Sunday to see me. He was thorough, conservative in his approach, explained my condition to me and answered my questions. I have been so happy with his care over the years for me and my husband, that for awhile even though my insurance didn't cover him, I still chose to go to him.

    Retina & Glaucoma Associates
I have been undergoing a series of treatments which have caused some improvement. All interctions with Dr. Nordland and the staff have been very professional and demonstrated concern for me as a patient. There is always a follow up phone call the day after a treatment to make sure I am not having a problem. I would definitely recommend this medical practice.

    Cullom Eye & Laser Center
The office was very helpful during my first visit, which turned into an emergency situation. However, there was some confusion after the initial visit regarding follow up appointments that required several calls back and forth to sort out. Most of the staff has been very pleasant to work with. One technician who helped me was not very friendly the first time I saw her. But on a future visit, she was very friendly so I chalked it up to a bad day. Eventually, I was referred on to another doctor since the first doctor I saw did not specialize in my condition. I feel that with the new doctor, I'm receiving sound and quality care and hopefully will see an improvement in my treatment and condition. It can be a challenge to get a field study as they have only one machine and it is often filled with appointments. So I am sure to make remind them to make the appointment at the same time as my dr. appointment.

    Advanced Vision Institute
This is the most thorough practice I have ever been to. The front office is great as are the assistants. The doctor is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything well. He also works within the drug formulary of my insurance company and checks back to ensure that the medication is effective.

I had anxiety in moving from out of state and continuity of care. I looked for references, talked to neighbors, and did an internet search. All showed that Dr. Campbell was the best for my issues. Upon arriving, I found the practice to give me an impression of good managment, caring, and professionalism. My first visit proved this to be true. I not used to the time, attention, and concern that was given to me.

    Cullom Eye & Laser Center
Dr Cullom followed the status of my high pressure until he no longer felt I could go any longer without sustaining damage to my retina so I reluctantly started on glaucoma drops.  Since I respected his opinion, I began the drops.  I still go back to him every 6 months for a check up and have Field of Vision tests each year.  Most recently he performed catarac surgery on both of my eyes.  He reviewed each option with me so I could make the decision myself about which lens to choose and did not offer his opinion until I asked, then he gave me a very considered opinion based on my history and finances.Dr Cullom is very approachable, easy to talk to, explains things very clearly, provides choices and explains the ramification of each.  His office staff in the  Williamsburg Office  is courteous and friendly and I seldom have a very long wait. When my mother in law decided to get her catarac surgery she traveled here from California to go to Dr Cullom.  She had a very good experience and was happy with the outcome and please with the office staffs concern for her.

I am not satisfied with one of the doctors there. I use one of the eye doctors there who drives from Richmond, and he does a very good job. The last time I had to use them I waited 3 hours, and I was not very happy.

They are perfect and I would rate them as excellent. They are just very, very efficient and on time. If I had to pick a place to go, I would pick Cullom. The doctor there is possessed. He is very scientific, I felt like he was doing everything that I wanted him to do.

    Ruff Eyes
I like the friendliness and thoroughness of my eye exams by Dr Ruff. She also has an optical store that has the most unique collection of glasses I have ever seen. I no longer wear glasses after my cataract but I have never seen such a collection like she has. I got a pair of glasses from them 2 years ago and they changed it into progressive sunglasses when I no longer had to wear them. I received many compliments for those glasses and I was just blown away by this experience.
