    Concrete Jack
The communication from Concrete Jack was outstanding as was the work! From beginning to end, we were updated on the status of our estimate and work order. We also received a 10% discount for submitting photographs of the job prior to the estimate. I would highly recommend this firm!

As the maintenance manager for a property management company, I have used Concrete Jack's numerous times for different properties.  They always provide me with a reasonable estimate in a timely manner.  They do great work and clean up after themselves.  This time was no exception.  The front porch at this property was starting to slope towards the house which allowed water to drain towards the house.  They were very busy and had to schedule for three weeks out but it was not an emergency so that was fine with us and the tenants.  Concrete Jack has made repairs to about six of our houses in the last year.  Some front porches and some walkways and we have not had one complaint from any of the jobs.  I highly recommend them.

Concrete Jack representatives came on January 3rd.  Did the job in less than one hour and you could not see where the holes has been drilled.  If you have sinking driveways or cracks, this is the company you should call.  The were courteous, efficient and knew what they were doing.  We were very impressed!

Perfect!  Arrived on time. Courteous, skilled crew identified problems.  Kept pumping up and insuring driveway was level.  Stuck to original price quote despite encountering many difficulties due to erosion.  Very good cost saving service.

The work on the front walk slabs went perfectly.  They only needed to drill four approximately 2 inch holes in the slabs, through which they injected a cement mix via a hydraulic pumping process.  The slabs rose back into perfect level, where they have remained, and we are past the three year mark.  They filled the holes carefully, and they are nearly invisible unless you know right where to look.  No torn up sod, no reforming and pouring of concrete, a great process all around!

I want to add that I called them for an estimate on what I thought was another sunken slab in my driveway in March, 2012.  Because I had previous concrete settling problems, I thought this was the same thing all over again.  Brian arrived exactly on time, surveyed the situation, and quickly determined that this time the slab had risen due to a tree root that was lifting it upward, so it was not a case of subsidence at all.  He recommended, and I agreed, that raising the neighboring slab might create more problems that it would solve, and possibly worsen a crack already in that slab.  Though I did not contract any work this time, I added this story because it is demonstrative of this firm's honesty and know-how.  I have no hesitation about recommending this company to anyone who has problems with settling concrete work of any kind.

    JES Foundation Repair
We have signed a contract with them, but the work has not been done yet. They are international. The house was built in 1964. Our neighbors told us that the previous owners had to have it jacked one time. We were not informed when we bought the house that it had been done. I decided to go with the company and it was probably the best decision because the people that came out were very thorough. The actual work on the house will be started on June 27th. The estimate was $43000.00. I cry when I say that. The quote may be slightly less because when the engineer came out for JES, he told us they would put in 27 piers rather than the original 29 that was estimated by the man who came out and gave us the first estimate. The price therefore should be around $41000.00 or $40000.00. JES was rather convincing in showing where the house is lower in areas. It is sagging diagonally. The north east corner and the south west corner are low, so they have to jack those up and level things out. I was disappointed because they said they were going to send an engineer in the first place to look at it and they didn't. They sent a salesman, but they insisted that these people that come out to give the estimates are highly trained by their engineers and he used the laser as well. When the engineer came out, I was very impressed by him. He was very knowledgeable and explained exactly where things would go and why and which were the best places to put the piers and the best ways to do the work. I was not impressed when dealing with the office when I called in first. I asked if the engineer was coming out and they said he would. Maybe they meant eventually and I thought they meant he would come out to give the estimate. After we signed the contract, I didn't hear from them. I called to set up an appointment to have the work done and they told us they had us down for July 20th. Nobody had called to ask us when it would be convenient with us and actually we are out of town on July 20th. I was impressed by the engineer, but otherwise I have been disappointed. They have been very responsive as far as coming out. When we called, they set up an appointment right away. At one point I thought of canceling with them. I wanted the engineer to come out and speak to us and explain why it was so much and see if he would lower the estimate. He came out within the week, so he was very responsive. They were on time. The engineer was very professional. The salesman took about 3 hours and talked mostly about how wonderful the company was and how they did things that the other companies didn't do. He was trying to sell us and I was anxious to get to the nitty-gritty. He could have told us and given us some estimate along the way. He went through the whole spiel and told us how they had jacked up houses and redone houses that had been done by other companies and made us go through his notebook of show and tell. He was trying to sell us on the company before letting us know what we were going to be facing.

Could not have been better. Estimator came on time and was very knowledgeable. Price offered was surprisingly low. Then the work was done exactly when scheduled, and I was blown away. All looks great. Drain slope is exactly where it needs to be now. These folks are top shelf! I paid about 1/6th of what a concrete repair company offered. The best thing is that they don't rip out the existing concrete, but level it gently and effectively. A superb value. You must visit their website and view the photos and testimonials.

    HYDRACRETE SERVICES INC
Contractor inadvertently injected cement into an under-ground 'French' drain line, blocking the drain and requiring an additional $1,000 to replace the line. The drain line removed water from the roof to a drain opening at the property line, the drain itself is located about 3 feet from the sidewalk areas raised. Given the proximity of the drain and direction of the land swale, I believe an experienced craftsman should have known of the potential his injection technique would have for causing a drain line problem. The contractor subsequently rejected any responsibility for his action and ultimately behaved in a rude manner when trying to resolve this problem. The sidewalk he corrected subsequently resettled to its original position, negating any value from Hydracrete and a total cost to me of more than $2000 in order to put the sidewalk and drain back into the manner prior to Hydracrete's arrival. Accordingly, I do not recommend Hydracrete Services Inc.

JES gave me a price of $14,600. I had another company give me an estimate and they said I didn't need to do anything.
