    G&S Garage Doors, Inc.
The tune-up was quick and easy. The technician pointed out that the bar across the top of the garage door was the incorrect one (too short), and as a result the garage door was starting to fold vertically in the middle, which when he pointed it out was all-too clear. He recommended replacing the bar and the result appears to be a straighter garage door and no further bending issues.

    Town & Country Asphalt
Scott had a lot to deal with with all the neighbors. Everyone had an opinion and a couple wanted to start trouble and we delayed the job by 2 days but Scott showed up everyday anyway so he was there when we were ready to proceed. He handled everyone well. He works 6 days a week, is here with his crew everyday at 7:30 A.M. and works consecutively until your job is finished. He's a hard worker, accommodating, and knows what he's talking about as I talked to probably 8 contractors and researched road building before we hire T&C. Thanks for the excellent work.

    Josh Anzengruber
Josh and his team are terrific in all ways. We called on Josh to get one of 4 estimates for significant pasture fence rebuild and painting. His bid was right in the middle of the others, but more importantly he walked us through all of the steps involved, detailed the costs, and offered alternatives to a rebuild on our gate. We were very impressed with his knowledge, professionalism, and friendliness. We went ahead with the rebuild and then had the fence painted some months later once the wood had cured. The fence looks terrific and neighbors have commented on it as well. We also have used Josh for snow removal, finding him more responsive and less expensive
than other service providers. We are thrilled with Josh and highly recommend him!

    Walker and Clarke Builders Inc
The job went very smoothly, and was completed in a reasonable timeframe, which was always communicted to us during the job. Walker and Clarke performed a remarkable, unexpected remodeling of our master bath. The bath had a jacuzzi tub that had leaked and needed to be removed. It was our intention to simply replace the tub with a clawfoot tub. However, it required finishing the floor to match the rest of the bathroom, and the tile was not easy to find. Once we learned that the tile could not be found, it was then going to be necessary to pull up all the existing tile and replace the entire floor, which became a huge job due to the complex way the original tile had been laid. The job became a total remodeling effort because each thing that needed to be done affected another. Walker and Clarke came in and assessed the entire situation, coordinated the design modifications, advised what the priorities needed to be, and made it all happen. The subcontractors were all efficient, skilled, punctual, and pleasant. A large part of the job had to be completed when I was out of town and it all went very well. While on site Walker and Clarke also performed inspections of our fireplaces, found serious issues, and resolved them. At our request, they designed and built a beautiful brick wall behind our woodstove which then required creating new crown moulding that perfectly matches the original. The costs of the jobs were very reasonable given the complexitiy and evolution of what needed to be done.

    American Exteriors & Masonry
I am not one to go through the effort to write reviews however this company is very deserving. In july of 2011 we contracted
American Exteriors and Masonry to repair cracked mortar on our porch and repair a window. Both jobs were perform by two
different crews. One that specialized in doing masonry and the other in repairing windows. That really defined how specialized they are in each area. We have a large palladium widow that we thought needed replacing due to excessive rooting. After talking with Carmen who was our estimator, he suggested that we repair instead of replace our window. To make a long story short they did an unbelievable job in repairing the window and we saved $3000.00. That type of honesty doesn't come around very often. The final part of my story concerns the mortar job they did on our patio. Anyone that knows anything about replacing mortar will tell you it's very hard to get an exact match to existing mortar. Anyway, American Exteriors explained that to me prior to doing the job however I was hoping for a better match than what I got. I am not one to complain but the match really bothered me. Anyway, I called them 3-months later to complain about the match. We were already into the winter months by that time. Anyway they said they would call me in the spring to redo what they had repaired. On April 6th 2012 I got a call from Nana who handles their scheduling to say they were sending someone out to redo the previous job. The job was totally redone and my mortar is now a perfect match. Their primary objective was to make the customer happy and to get the job to the best standards in the industry. In my opinion that was worth my time in writing this review. I can't say enough about a company who totally stands behind their work.
    Sincerely,

    Dan Meyers

    Blue Ridge Garage Doors LLC
Excellent. Blue Ridge provided a timely and very competitive quote for the work and did the work on time as promised for the quoted price. They arrived promptly, kept me informed throughout their work by answering all of my questions, removed the old doors neatly without damage, and installed my new doors professionally. They completed the work in the estimated time alotment, cleaned up afterward, provided me with all manuals and tax receipts, and were nice people to deal with. All phone contacts with the company were excellent...I was never put on hold and all promised return calls were quickly made.

John Horn & Son Asphalt Paving
The original driveway was in bad shape in several places due to insufficient base material. There were numerous cracks and in one spot the asphalt had buckled around 6 inches high. John took a few days to return my inital call, but was able to come out to prepare a quote within a few days after that. He arrived an hour late from the appointed time, but he was able to give me a writen quote after a few minutes of investigation and measuring. His quote came in as the least expensive (nearest quote was $1400 more) , he seemed to know what he was talking about, was able to share pictures & talk about previous jobs completed and was polite. He offered us a $500 discount since he was working on another job in the area. We booked the job the next day. He estimated the job to be 2 days, but it wound up taking 3. On the first day, the workers were supposed to be arriving "first thing in the morning" which turned out to be between 11 and noon. The first day was primarily preparing the area, removing damaged asphalt, preparing the base for the newly paved areas. The second day either the workers put the asphalt on thicker than John had estimated or the estimate was inaccurate because they ran out of asphalt. The next day was a holiday weekend and since the asphalt plants were closed, work could not continue until the following Monday (4 days later). John didn't charge us any more for the extra asphalt needed to complete the job. The job was finished on Monday and it looks great. The crew cleaned up after themselves each day. While John was not onsite when the work was being completed, he did come at the end of the second day and at the job completion to inspect the work. The driveway edge was finished by hand tapping at a 45 degree angle which gives a clean look and makes it easier to maintain with an edger. All in all the driveway was completed in a reasonable amount of time, the work was well done, the crew was reasonable, John was easy to talk to and the price was right. I'd recommend this contractor and would use him again.

The engineer did a great job explaining what he was doing and how to maintain the doors going forward. They work great and are practically silent!

Had a successful price negotiation, and they performed the work as agreed and on the timeline agreed at the agreed price.  Went fine.
