    Good Dog Workshop
We adopted Luna, a Husky rescue, three months ago. We soon realized that she did not do well when we encountered other dogs - fearful, anxious, hyper. We tried to deal with it on our own and then hired a trainer, who helped us with basics but didn't solve the dog socialization/interaction issue. We searched and found Brian and Good Dog Workshop on Angie's List. After reading every great review, checking out their website and watching some videos, we felt this might be our answer. We met Brian at his location in Warrenton. He met us at the car and immediately had Luna's attention and respect. He started with introducing her to the two horses so they wouldn't be a distraction when we got to dog interactions. After a previous experience in a park with horses where she freaked out, we were dubious. Brian quickly had Luna calm and nose to nose with the horse. She seemed happy, relaxed and very interested in her new friend. We then moved on to introductions with Brian's four dogs. He demonstrated with each introduction how we should communicate with Luna so that she knew she had to become calm and respectful of the other dogs before she could meet them. After introductions, we took a couple walks with his dogs. It was amazing to see how well Luna was doing with the other dogs. Brian was professional and extremely knowledgeable. We were amazed with the results we saw after spending an hour and a half with him. He showed us what we need to do to be better leaders for Luna. We still have work to do to reinforce our new training. Brian showed us that Luna is capable of good behavior around dogs and we left with great confidence and hope. Thanks Brian!

There is not enough praise that I can give for Brian!  I read every review on Angieslist, Yelp and various internet sites.  BELIEVE the reviews.... he is that good!

We took our lovely, high-energy 1 year old Goldendoodle (Bella) to the Good Dog Workshop training.  Brian offers both in home or at his home training; we opted to take a lovely ride to Warrenton because one of the training I requested was to learn how to minimize Bella's anxiety with car rides.  We also wanted Brian to train Bella (and the owners) on how walk properly utilizing a leash because Bella leads and wants to play with every dog and human she sees!!

Immediately upon arrival, Brian met us at the car to start his introduction to Bella prior to her jumping out of the vehicle.  I don't understand it, maybe he is a dog whisperer, but he was able to calm Bella by just taking charge and she sat back in the car realizing she is going to have to wait to get out of the car and she did just that!

Over the next two hours, Brian, made us clearly understand that we (the humans) were NOT doing our part by being the pack leader.  IT WAS A HARD ADJUSTMENT for me, especially during the first 20 - 30 minutes.  So, do yourself a favor and just listen to what Brian tells you to do!

I could not be more pleased.  We learned so much in the training, starting with the leash itself.  We were using the wrong type of leash for initial training anyway.  We ended up purchasing one of Brian's "slip not" leash.  Bella responded to it immediately.  Although, Bella is not quite over her car anxiety, we made great progress and we have the teaching tools to get her to anxiety free!   As a matter of fact, on the car ride home she was not as anxious and appeared to be a bit more relaxed (not completely relaxed but much improved.)  She walks so much better on a leash and off leash she was near me and Brian the entire walk.  When she strayed one time, he did a command that got her focused and she came right away!  Simply an AMAZING day!!

The training is not done.  We now have to continue to work with Bella but I feel so confident that we can do this because of Brian!

Also, he recommended that we stop by Carousel Ice Cream on our journey home to get both the humans and the pup a cup of ice cream!  Note:  the pup cup was free!!  WHAT A GREAT DAY!!  Thank you so much Brian!

For the reader:  What are you waiting for?  You should definitely use Good Dog Workshop training!

We saw the room ahead of time (it looked fine) and requested both dogs stay together.  The price is a bit high but our regular place was booked and we needed another choice.  I had seen their place before and nearly used them once but our trip was cancelled and we did not need the services.  The outside area appeared clean.  We could see other dogs and none seemed to be having a bad day when we were there.  We have an older dog with mobility issues and if he is not well cared for it shows after only a few days. We were a bit concerned about having him stay in a new place where they were not used to him, but all went well.  We were away a week and he was in great shape when we returned. As far as we could tell the food we left had been adequately dispensed. We left an old t-shirt, as we always do when we leave our doggies, and it was returned on pick-up.  Neither dog seemed to be any the worse for the wear.  We did not have any long wait for assistance when we arrived for our inspection or for drop off or pick up.  We were also glad that vet services are on hand in case of an emergency.  We can't speak to the experiences of others, but since it has been nearly a year since the bad review, perhaps some things have improved since then.  We were quite satisfied and plan on using them again.

They are a wonderful dog groomer. Their service is very good. I like it because they don't keep the dog in extended time. They don't keep more of the time. They don't move them in the cages all day. I can drop my dog off and I know she'll call me back in an hour and 15 minutes. He's done. This is our 3rd dog we have taken there. The first time, I had never taken my dog to a groomer. I really like her. She doesn't use dog cage groomers or hair dryers. She doesn't use drying cages. I think the price is pretty cheap. My dog's very clean. She tells me it's going to be done and she's done. She calls you right away. I think she calls me before he actually gets done. I just love her.

    Mclean Animal Hospital
I have been going here for about five years. The staff is nice and they are professional. We see whoever is available for appointments. However, they are very expensive. Overall, I am satisfied with their service.

This was the first time I was leavign our precious Susie (dog) with anyone but family and close friends. I was very anxious and nervous until the staff gave me a tour of their grounds and the kennel area. It was clean, calm and very inviting. The cost was very reasonable! I highly recommend Paws Awhile!!!!

    Piedmont Pets Veterinary Care
All of my dogs and my two cats have gone here. I have spent a LOT of money with them. I have never not paid a bill. Our little dog had injured her hip. they insisted on surgurey after running up a big bill and quot;resettingand quot; the hip and telling me it would not stay in place. when they discovered i could not spend THOUSANDS on top of what I had allready spent, they told me to put her down. I refused. I had another vet pop her hip in and wrap it into position, we kept her in a crate for several weeks, only letting her out to go potty. She is now fine, running and jumping like it never happened. That was my first big problem. The second one was when I brought my cat in who had swollen lymph glands all over. She was sick and hurting. they sold me lots of meds, big exam bill and when we realised she was not getting better (cancer) and we would have to put her to sleep. I was broke till pay day and they REFUSED to end her suffering untill they could be paid in full first. I BEGGED for a weeks time to make the payment, even offered to give a post dated check till payday , i was willing to leave my drivers licence with them. ANYTHING to end her suffering... I was informed and this is an EXACT QUOTE!!! and quot; we are a businessand quot; !!!!! I found another vet who had NEVER even seen me, they took a small deposit, kindly ended her suffering and let me bring in the rest of the money later that week when we were paid. They are now our vet for ALL our animals!!!! They are kind, and the animal comes first!

Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Bristow
It is an emergency vet as well so they are good if you have an emergency. They are very nice and caring. They work with you financially like when we had an emergency and we had to take our little dog in. They let us do installment payments.

    Good Dog Workshop
Brian is a dog behaviorist and is excellent in training dog owner's how to train their dogs.  He helped us with behavior problems we were experiencing with our 2 puppies.  He gave us an understanding of how to control our dogs rather than the other way around.  I was surprised that he spent an hour on the phone with me and solved 2 of the problems we were dealing with before I had given him the job.  I had commented on how much time we were on the phone and he said "I would like the job, but if I can help you on the phone that would be fine".  In today's society this attitude is very rare.
He had finished earlier than he expected and gave us a break in the price since his sessions generally lasted longer.  Since he had already solved 2 of our problems before taking the job the training session was shorter because of his efforts.  In addition to Angie's list Brian had a lot of testimonials on his site that confirmed our experience.  He is very good at understanding behavioral problems that are common in dogs.  He told us if we have other problems we should feel free to call him, anytime.
He was very helpful and gave us a lot of insight into our dog's behavior.  We would recommend Brian highly as a behavioral dog trainer.
