    Troy Miller Painting
Great. Very satisfied . He was on time and worked hard to make sure I was pleased. I would definitely recommend him. He was careful and put everything back when completed. They also painted my fireplace which I love.

    Martin Services
Incredible experience. This is the best kitchen I've ever owned, and I'm a senior citizen who spent 22 years enduring military moves. Dan Martin and crew tailored this kitchen exactly to what I wanted. In fact, there were more than just one or two suggestions Dan made about the design, for which I am most grateful. Two of these were eliminating non-load bearing walls, which opened a tiny galley kitchen up to include a island/breakfast bar. At my most recent family gathering, it was a breeze to feed 22 people. In the original kitchen, barely two people could fit (see photo with Charlie the Dog). Work was exceptional. Dan and crew were diligent, precise and willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was done to their high standards. Dan also works with the homeowner to keep costs down, and kept the homeowner informed daily of progress and plans. His was the lowest bid. Since my kitchen completion, I recommended him to others, and they had similar results. Outstanding service, true professional. Several months after the kitchen renovation, I had a smaller project to repair/replace the basement ceiling. Again, the work was done professionally, and I was completely pleased. Great service, great price; experienced and hard-working crew - I didn't even bother to get several bids this time.

    SALEM PAINTING
Corey's crew did an excellent job. My house is 90 years old and needed a lot of repair to the walls and ceilings. Now, a month after Salem Painting finished the job, we are still as happy as can be with the quality of work performed.

    Quality First Painting
He was cheating many ways by using paint thinner to thin out the paint and left light fixtures undone. My kitchen is a mess and my bathroom has many holes exposed in the walls. I did not want the day worker in my house again and I explained this to him because the day worker did not know what he was doing. My ceiling was very messed up and now my faucet is broke because they were leaning on the faucet. I bought additional paint for this service. They helped themselves in my refrigerator without being asked to. I heard that he was talking about his wife and he was talking about having to rough up his wife to show her who is in charge. He has a very big temper. I offered to buy him a burger from Burger King and he tried to get the whole meal. I paid for his drink and he asked for more and became very irate when I confronted him to pay the difference of the meal that he wanted.

    Kennedy Construction Company, LLC
We hired him to paint the inside of our empty house. He told us it would be a five day job. It took 27 days which was time taken away from listing our home. We found beer cans and vodka in the trash. They did a horrible job of painting. Some walls were only half done. The lines where the wall meets the ceiling were not even close to being straight. They left all the lights on all night. They put my expensive drapes on the garage floor where they were stepped on. People/workers were allowed in our house at will. After all was said and done we found out the water faucet outside were left on. The owner just made excuses. It got to the point where we just wanted them to go away. It was the worst experience we have ever had with ANY service. Please turn back if you are looking at this construction company to do anything!

    Christian Painting Co
In the fall of 2009, I hired Robert Nester, owner of Christian Painting, to paint the interior of our family home.  The house was full of packed boxes and possessions from my late sister?s home as I was going through them and preparing things to take to the thrift store of a no-kill shelter.  Among the boxes was a small, white tourister suitcase filled with sliver dollars saved by my sister throughout her life from childhood to be donated to an animal foundation at her death.

One of the bedrooms was to be painted ?Priscilla Pink?, a light medium pink shade.  The color used instead was the color of pepto bismol.  I had to pay an additional $100 to get Mr. Nester to change the color , and I still never got the color I had specified.  I had a paint card and a pint of the actual color I bough from the paint store to help Mr. Nester and he still never approached the color I requested.

A shelf was removed from the wall of one bedroom during the painting.  Huge holes were made where the screws had been.  The repair was never made.  The holes were left.

In early winter of 2010, I hired Mr. Nester to come back and paint the exterior of our white frame 2-story home.  We had always used water-base paint which is what I requested, but Mr. Nester took the liberty to use oil-based paint.

I had requested the concrete bird bath be painted.  Mr. Nester painted it and the polyresin bird bath and I had to pay for both of them.

I asked that the bottom of the concrete porch be painted white.  The white paint had several brown steaks running down.  I asked Mr. Nester to paint over the brown streaks but he never did.

Because I own 4 properties and had requested work on them, I gave Mr. Nester keys to all 4 of the properties.  He told me he could do home repairs as well as paint.

One of my properties had a leak in the metal roof.  I called a contractor, J.W. Barton, who told me his fee would be between $4,000 and $5,000, depending on how much rotten wood he found once he got into the work.

Mr. Nester said he could fix the repair and do it immediately, so I gave him the job to him.  I explained I wanted a thorough, complete job.  When he finished the job, I asked him if he fixed everything.  He told me, ?yes.?  I paid him $1,500 on June 24, 2010, and $2,500 on July 6, 2010, for the roof.

Because our house was very full of my late sister?s belongings, I did not realize until much later that the suitcase of silver dollars was missing.  Mr. Nester had said he found my door unlocked.  I was suspicious of him telling me that because I knew I had never left the door unlocked.  I even made the comment that maybe the rough teenager across the street had taken the suitcase to see if he would make a response, but he said nothing.

In the summer of 2011, the metal roof had rain water gushing through.  The contractor I had originally contacted for the repair, J.  W. Barton, said no rotten wood had been replaced.  Everything had not been fixed.  It was not a thorough, complete job.  Mr. Barton says the damage is now so extensive that the repair fee is now $6,000.

I found Mr. Nester?s company, Christian Painting, in the yellow pages.  He ad said, ?No Drugs, No Alcohol.?  When 2 of his men came to see me, they told me he bought huge quantities of crack which I had begun to suspect because of his speech, attitude, and behavior.  The men also told me he went through everything in my house.

My vacuum cleaner was damaged during the painting.  Mr. Nester said he aid insurance, but never had my vacuum repaired.

Mr. Nester has no state license.  He has an ?F? rating with the Better Business Bureau and a record of not responding to complaints.

I have no contact with Mr. Nester.  I have asked for the keys to my 4 properties, but he will not return them.  He said he would call and arrange to meet with me, but never did.

It is my hope that this information will save someone else from making the poor choice I did in choosing a painting contractor who says he can also do repair jobs, is a Christian who purchases crack, doesn?t answer or return calls, and keeps the keys to the properties he works on.

    CHRISTIAN PAINTING CO
We went with Christian Painting because they came in at the lowest rate.  Robert Nester's price seemed the most reasonable and he was also available to do the job right then.  We made a huge mistake by going with them.  He did nothing but put a band aid on the repair.  We also had him do a painting job at the home.  We found belongings and money missing after the service was done.  I had conversations with his employees that he had gone through my belongings while he was in my home doing the painting.  He still has the keys to all of my properties and never has returned them.  I have tried to contact him back about these issues and he never responds.  There was also a ladder at my home the went missing around the the time they were out to do the work.  I do not know it was them but I feel it's a strong possibility.  The last thing I wanted to mention was the quality of work was just awful, they left big gaping holes in the wall that were not repaired.  Jobs were left unfinished and the finish product looks terrible.  I would not recommend him to anyone in the future.  He has had several bad experiences with others since then as well.

    Colorworx
I found James Day on Craigslist, and received an estimate. He also let me come to a place he was painting to check out the quality of his work, which was impressive. I got other estimates, but his estimate was far lower than others for as good or better work! He was very prompt, never tacked on extra charges, and brought in help at no extra charge to make sure he met the deadline. Also, he warrants the paint job for one year -- find problems, and he said he would come and fix. I will definitely hire him again for any painting project.
