    Before I had this work done, I purchased a 3-year service plan that included a whole house inspection. When they did the inspection, they came up with a litany of things that should be fixed. I think only some of them were really necessary, and I proceeded with the ones that I thought were (replace rubber washer hoses, sump pump) and proceeded with a few that I'm not really sure I needed (CPVC lines, dishwasher line). There were several others they suggested that i declined - reworking water heater valves, replacing gas line, replacing disposal. I gave them a B on price because they seem like their prices are pretty high (roughly $200) for some pretty routine stuff - fixing toilets, unclogging slow drains. I won't use them for these small projects like toilet flappers and sink drains but would use them again for any more substantial repairs.

    Visit lasted 45 mins and seemed easy enough, guys was friendly though he tried to upsell me on a pressure valve for $500. A week later the toilet on the second floor flooded the tank. Water pouring through the floor into the kitchen etc. I called on a Saturday when they were closed, the emergency worker responded and at first said I would have to pay a fee for him to come out, after I more clearly articulated the source of the problem he said he would be there in 30 mins. He arrived, admitted parts were installed poorly, fixed the problem and assured me the company would make it all right. They came a week later and repaired dry wall and repainted the repaired area. Overall the experience was bad but there is something to be said for people that own up to mistakes and make things right. Too much hassle to give anything but a D or F but an A for ethics and not making me argue with anyone to make things right.

    Deer Park Home & Office Water Delivery
    I did not have a good experience with Deerpark, which of course is a subsidiary of Nestle, which is a subsidiary of Pepsi.  I have to say I did like the convenience of flexible delivery schedule, and the ability to change delivery date, items delivered by adding or deleting items with a 24 hr advance notice.  What I did not like was the delivery's being rescheduled by Deerpark via a robo call the morning of the scheduled delivery.  After experiencing this the first time, I called Deerpark customer service and requested that they give me the same courtesy that they request of me on any changes to the delivery, which is 24 hr notice.  After the second time I decided to cancel their service and go with another provider.  When I cancelled, I was very honest about my my reason which I have stated above.  They assured me that someone would be picking up my dispenser and empty bottles the next day, which was a Friday and even stated a 2 hr. window when it would happen.  After rearranging my day to accomodate this, they were a no call, no show.  So my disconnected dispenser and empty bottles sat at my front door through the weekend.  They did finally arrive on Monday and picked up the items.

    Deer Park Water
    It is a national service.  They bring in the water and set it in our coolers.  We have an apartment so it is handy that they bring it to us rather than going to pick it up at the grocery store.  They are the only one I know about.  They give us 4 bottles every month with refills. Quality wise they are pretty good.  As for responsiveness they come on the day they say.  It is scheduled ahead of time and they tell me three months in advance when they are coming so they are pretty good about that.  They don’t really give you a time when they are coming; I guess that is so because they can optimize their deliveries.  But sometimes it is like 7 in the morning which is kind of early but it does not matter that much.  I will continue to use them in the future.
