The Goddard School - Chantilly 1
I love that I don't have to worry or doubt the practices of the teachers and the school. My son is developing socially in ways he may not have been able to do without The Goddard School. The Teachers (and support staff) are knowledgeable and compassionate and always provide novel and creative activities.

    FAITH BAPTIST ACADEMY
We had a great experience at Faith Baptist Academy. Our children have been attending over 3 years. The teachers are very nurturing and their curriculum prepared well our kids for public elementary schools.
The staff is composed of older ladies that are very caring. They are very experienced and know how to handle different kinds of kids. As a point, prior to K3, we placed our kids at more attended daycares and it took months for my daughter to stop the drop off anxiety which was much shorter at Faith Baptist.
Facility is relatively old since it is run within the facilities of Faith Baptist Church. However, the classrooms are cutely set and bathrooms are modified for little kids. The drop off is at the gym which was odd in the beginning but they have a lot of toys there to play with. Also, they have a large green space with playground.
The curriculum seems like traditional phonic based, but since it is church sponsored there is bible lessons added.
They don?t provide lunches so one needs to pack them but also their costs are affordable when compared to skyrocketing costs at more attended daycares.
While it may not be the glamorous facilities, we value good people who are caring and we found our place at Faith Baptist Academy.

    CAROUSEL CHILD CARE CENTER
After an intensive review of several daycares, we enrolled our 3 month old at Carousel-Annandale, and have been very pleased with the service. She has been there for a year. I really can't say enough good things about the infant care teachers--some of them have been there for 16 years and really love what they do. They are true and quot;professionalsand quot; and we often look to them for guidance childcare because they have so much experience. They really take the time to pay attention to my child and understand her personality and what works for her versus another child. Not only that but they also care about educating and advancing the skills of your child, even in the babyroom. They have fun extracurriculars too for the children. My baby is so happy there and already has made several friends--which I didn't know could happen so soon among infants.
Similar to another review, I love the round table with bucket seats because they interact and learn from the teachers there as well as interacting with each other while sitting up for the first time. The facilities are clean and organized.
It's great knowing there is such a caring, safe place where I can take my child. It really is the best childcare value for the money.
    I highly recommend Carousel-Annandale.

    Manor Montessori School
My daughter LOVED Manor Montessori camp.
She attended the Junior program in Potomac location.  She really enjoyed the special activities -- tennis, swimming, soccer, field trips -- that the camp offered.   She also enjoyed all the crafts that Manor had to offer -- painting, sewing, etc.
The teachers and staff were very pleasant to deal with.   I especially loved the after camp team.
Before the summer was over, my daughter was begging to go back to camp at Manor Montessori next year.

    LITTLE OXFORD HOUSE DAYCARE
Little Oxford House is a wonderful daycare. The teachers in the infant room treated my daughter as if she was their own. My daughter always had a smile on her face when I dropped her off and when I picked her up. The price was reasonable compared to other centers in the area. I really liked that the class sizes are small and each age group had their own classroom. They have a great outdoor space and tons of activities. I highly recommend this facility for your childcare needs.

    SHANI'S KIDS CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
When we were initially scouting day care centers, at first we thought that a large company would have a better-organized, more scientifically-designed program. We checked out several, and settled on one that seemed to have a good philosophy and reputation. When we brought our then-two month old daughter there, we were shocked to find that kids were running around and yelling. The toddlers and babies, about 16 of each, were all together in the same enormous room with only a half-wall partition between them. The noise was deafening. The staff did not seem bothered by the chaos and did not seem concerned that many of the infants were miserable. We left in tears. Unable to bear the idea of leaving her there another day, we asked around for recommendations. A large day care for older children near our home told us about Shani's Kids. They said that kids who came from there tended to be well-behaved, self-confident, and eager to learn. We went to Shani's place for an interview. The difference could not have been more striking. We sat down in the living room while the infants were downstairs taking their morning naps. The toddlers were having "circle time", in which the kids sit in a circle while a staff member leads them in singing songs, repeating the alphabet, learning the names of colors and animals. Shani almost immediately said "May I please hold the baby?" At that age, Adeline usually cried when held by strangers; she only trusted mommy and daddy. But Shani looked her in the eyes, smiled, and spoke to her with an animated expression that immediately relaxed and intrigued her. I had the sense that this was a two-way interview, that Shani was checking out our kid to see if she could work with her, just as we were checking Shani out. After that, we discussed the center's hours, policies, prices (better than many, but not bargain-basement), and other features, all while Shani held Adeline. Then, we went downstairs. The kids had finished circle time and were playing with toys. They all were interested when we walked into the room. Some kept playing, some tried to interest us in their toys, and one little girl, about two years old, came up and gave me a big hug! It has been the same way ever since. The other kids at Shani's are delightful, as are the parents. I would not hesitate to invite any of them to our house for dinner or a birthday party. Every year since we've been there, Shani has hosted a Halloween party and a Christmas party to give the parents a chance to get acquainted--and just have fun! She loves to laugh, to dance, and to talk with the parents and to hang out with the kids. Everyone who works for her is responsible, hardworking, and loves children. At this point we sincerely consider Shani, Cindy, Tony, Priya, and the rest to be members of our extended family, and we'll stay in touch after the kids have graduated.

SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE PROGRAM (SACC)
They let me work! Their hours are great, and they are very reasonable. They also have educational programs to help my kids learn while they are at day care. They've been great!
