Water Heater Repair And Installation reviews in Suffolk

    Fitch Specialties LLC
We had an excellent experience with Tim. When our old water tank failed, Tim responded quickly to our call. He provided detailed quotes for installation of a replacement tank and also for an on-demand water heater. We were impressed with Tim's professionalism and knowledge. We chose the on-demand heater, which was a more complicated option. He and his team ran the new larger natural gas line and electrical wiring; mounted the new unit, added a the new roof vent and had the system up and running within 24 hours of our original call. Tim's team also fixed an unrelated issue with our gas stove installation and resolved an issue had been having with our sprinkler system's well. We were more than satisfied with his work.

    Atlantic Shores Heating & Cooling
I had a water heater that died. I called around and Atlantic Shores came by and not only gave me a great quote but they were also able to fix it the same day. The team was great! Personable and knowledgeable. I will say that I had a previous company come out and misdiagnose the issue and gave me an assessment that could have easily doubled the price. I will not name that company but I will say that I am really glad that I called Atlantic Shores instead of trusting the original company. We will be using them to also do our annual maintenance.

The water heater was installed the day after I telephoned. I was going to get an estimate from Atomic plumbing also but still have not received a call back and I have had the new water heater for a couple of days.

There were some hiccups, in the installation process, but the company addressed them promptly. I had four installation teams in the house at one point, all were very professional. At the end of each installation, each team explained what they have done, which I always appreciate. More than a month after all HVAC and tankless heater were installed all equipment works fine. We'll see how they do at the one year inspection.

I called around for a quote on a 50 gallon gas heater replacement. Tim Fitch was available to do the work that morning, and gave a competitive price quote. He also gives a 10% discount to Angies List members, which is nice. The work was done on time with quality materials and workmanship. I also had a minor plumbing issue in the house that Tim Fitch was able to repair during the visit at an additional nominal charge.

    Air Conditioning Specialists
They arrived on time and were very professional. Took down the molding to the attic as part of the service and replaced it perfectly when they were finished. The removal of the old and the installation of the new were all professional. They also cleaned up as they were leaving

Grant showed up on time with all necessary equipment.  He was clean cut and professional, and brought a supervisor with him who was himself a master plumber (Don).  The job was to remove the old water heater from our laundry room (the second dumbest design in history, right behind placing them in the attic!), run new gas and water lines, and install a Rinnai tankless in my garage.

Several things impressed me in the course of the install:

    1)  Don was EXTREMELY meticulous with quality assurance for the work and install, to the point that he fixed a previous plumber's shoddy repair work saying that he simply could not let that go.  He also took the time to explain why it was shoddy, and why it would have eventually leaked.

    2)  The install was quick and efficient, but neatly and professionally done.  Gas line is solid, and water lines were run neatly and thoroughly insulated.

    3)  During the install, Grant crawled under my house to check overall health of water lines, and to repair a cracked frost bib on an outside spigot at no charge.  He also took a minute to address another minor plumbing issue that I had questions about.

The overall efficiency and professionalism of Michael and Son has truly impressed me.  I paid a little higher for the work than I might have with another outfit, but quite honestly I believe the service was more than worth it!

We love our new tankless water heater, and the extra space in the laundry room.  Very satisfied, and new lifelong customer!

Water heater broke out of the blue..
We called for emergency service. Brian came the same day as expected, checked the unit, identified the issue and replaced the flow sensor.  When he left, we had hot water again - funny how important it becomes when you don't have it !
He was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable. Highly recommend this company.

Atomic Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Corporation
Jim Miller was the Service rep and he was SUPER!!! He very professionally explained everything to me and was nice and courteous! I was worried that I had a hot water line burst after the cold weather, but it was just my hot water heater sensor doing its job. Atomic is the BEST!!! The phone advice that I got prior to service was extremely helpful! This company goes out of its way to provide the very best customer service and they are the only plumbing company I will ever use. They were super busy with calls, but still came through by walking me through what to do over the phone to protect my home. A++++++

Service tech arrived and took one look at manufacturer's label and told my wife it was 14 years old, if he repaired the water heater there was no guarantee it would work and that we should just replace it.  She said to come up with some quotes and I would be home in 10 minutes.

When I arrived he quoted us $1800 to just replace the water heater and around $2300 for a water heater, new water valves and a warranty and constantly assured me a master plumber was doing the work.  I broke it down for him that the replacement unit was $500 at lowes, a master plumber for 4 hours at $35/hr and a helper at $25/hr was $240, let's round that to $300 and a base rate service call for random parts/fuel and processing should be less than $400,  that's $1200 so where is the difference.  he explained that a master plumber makes a little more than that and blah blah blah,  so I told him I'm a nuclear plumber and I don't make anywhere close to that so shove it and he charged me my $30 service call fee and left.

After I fumed for a bit and calmed down, I called some more places for quotes and they all quoted me the same thing,  so clearly all the companies are running a SCAM on us in our area.  So I called ll the 800 numbers on my unit and got ahold of the manufacturers servicing department.  They told me if I felt handy enough (I plumb nuclear pipes, I thought i was handy enough) to replace the thermocouple and if that didn't work to replace the control valve box on the front of the unit. And oh yeah by the way, look it up on youtube there are plenty of videos.

So I watch about 5 videos on youtube for replacing the thermocouple, run to lowes and buy an $8 part, oh and cleaned out the combustion housing like some of the videos showed and I have the hottest water I have ever had, and I didn't run out in the shower.

I would have gladly payed the guy a couple hundred to fix the thing, but I wasn't gonna be ripped off for something I didn't need.
