It was a pleasure working with Yasser and his team. I got an estimate very quickly by emailing some pictures. I also got a detailed explanation of how they would do the work and the timeframe to expect. They finished ahead of schedule which was nice. When they picked up my door, they secured the front door entryway from the inside. I didn't know how they would do this but they used a large panel. It was obvious they had done it many times before. They called us to come in and pick a color for the door and piano. They really do bring everything to its original shape and start over. It was super neat to see everything down to the bare wood. We enjoyed this experience much more than we thought we would. When everything was finished, everything looked fantastic. You can really feel Yasser's passion for what he does and it shows throughout his work.

He didn't seem to understand what I was talking about. There was a very clear language barrier between us, but he genuinely seemed to have no concept of what I meant when I explained my Big Deal purchase to him. When I had finally gotten across what I had hired him for, he asked that I send photos, which I did. I never heard anything back, so I eventually called him, with no response. I sent an email, which was also met with no response. Weeks had gone by, and I called back again because we're expecting company in a few weeks and I need this done as soon as possible. He finally answered, and asked "Who are you?". He had no idea who I was. When he finally understood who I was, he informed me that he had never opened the email I sent with the photos. He laughed about it. I decided to not go with him for this reason, and for the fact that I do not intend to pay $1100.00 for what is most likely a job costing considerably less. Even he admitted that his labor rate was very high.

The upholstering work is top notch! The stool is very solid and nice. The pillows are beautiful.
There were some issues but we are happy with the work in the end. A true mark of any business is how they take care of the issues and here is where they excelled.
The chair and pillows were delivered a week late (no call that it would not be on time). The stool, which had to be custom made was much later than that (was promised the same time as the chair).
There was a problem with the stool. I am not sure where the measurements for the stool height were obtained (though I admit it was signed off on) but the stool was several inches higher than the chair seat. I am surprised someone did not notice when they had the chair and before making the stool but it was not desirable when it was delivered.
However, they totally reworked the stool to make it the right height. This required reconfiguring the stool and then taking the feet off later. The stool is solid and looks great with the chair. Fixing the stool, which had been signed off on, was done at their expense to make my mother happy.
The markdown on professionalism is because they were not very communicative (my mom had to call them almost every time to find out about missed deliveries).

They came to my house with fabric samples and took the chairs with them.  When the chairs were done, they returned them to my house  along with the extra fabric.  I also had them make 2 throw pillow covers with zippers.  I am very pleased with their work and service.

    The Upholstery Shop
My inexpensive sofa was too firm. Eddie replaced the foam and coils with a good quality latex foam. The cushions are now very comfortable. I got just what I wanted. The guys are great. The shop is great too. Beautiful fabrics for window treatments, pillow or any home dec project as well as upholstery use are discounted. I would recommend this shop and would use it again.

    Classic Furniture Repairing
Did an outstanding job in every respect in bringing out wood refinishing in this very old chair and ottoman. The material chosen was fitted perfectly with rolls and folds aligned exactly as in the original fitting.

Had several repairs performed on my house in spring 2011 (don't have the exact date handy): fence repair and exterior wood trim replacement and painting. Signed contract indicating wood trim would be replaced with composite. After most of the repairs were performed, I physically checked the trim to ensure it was composite and it turns out it was not (99% of the replacement pieces were wood). Apparently, this was done to save costs when more wood trim on my home needed repair than they'd first realized and estimated, but the switch was done without my advanced approval and no change in the price was made. I also had a large wood trim piece that had significant termite damage that they tried to putty over instead of replacing. It was only replaced at my insistance. I've just had to have additional wood trim repaired that they should have realized was damaged beyond repair (and that they painted over in the spring). This is my second negative experience with Rendon. I used them for the second time, hoping the first was a fluke, but it was not. The first experience was having a large beam replaced on the side of my home that was damaged by wood rot. Following the repair, they failed to properly seal the openings in the siding that they cut out of electrical runs, etc. Now just a few years after that major (+$15,000) repair, I've got new leaks in the very areas where they worked. The company starts out strong, the owners appear to care, but in the end they do not finish well (at least they have not on my home).

    Yi's Upholstery Interiors
We spent about $3600 for their services. They did a great job. They came and picked up the chairs. They were able to give me a quote from looking at the chair on the pictures. Then they came and dropped them. They were very unusual chairs, but they were able to do well. I have no idea about the price since I didn’t ask anybody else. Their quality was good too.

    Spicer's Upholstery
Project went great, overall. See narrative above. Workmanship is terrific. Only downside is that it seemed hard to get a pickup/delivery scheduled (they're in Alexandria; I'm in Sterling). I ended up driving the chair over there myself.
