Exterior Contractor reviews in Stephens City

Recently had siding damage due to wind storm. NVB Contracting were out the next day to install a covering over the damaged area and then immediately began working on the insurance claim with me. During the process, I was always kept in the loop with texts and emails. I found NVB professional and actively working on my claim during the entire process. The final result of the siding job was impressive. We were able to very closely match our style and color. The workmanship was very good. My wife and I are very pleased with the final result.

Excellent. Gregory's worked us in during a busy wet Fall season, completing first the roof then gutters a couple of weeks later then the siding and window. They were very accommodating and worked hard to complete the work before the weather turned bad. We would strongly consider using them in the future. Their pricing may not be the lowest but you will get quality work.

Highly recommend these guys, very fairly priced for the distance travelled, work performed and supplies used. I would not hesitate to recommend their services.
They soft washed my house, approx. 6,000 sqft and were very reasonable. House looks great, guys were on time and very polite and friendly.

The company was prompt in providing the estimate and the service. They called to say they could come to start a day early, which was great.  They were careful, detailed, yet efficient in their work. My house looks great!

Kidwell had two separate teams come out one for the fence, and one for the deck job.
The fence team was punctual and quick. They arrived within the estimated date range, and completed the work in under 3 days.
The deck team was a different story. They initially told me that due to backlog it would be 5-6 weeks before they could get started (end of July or early August at the latest). When they did not arrive within the that time, I called them and was told they would come out the following week. This continued for  4 more weeks. The materials for the project were finally delivered at the end of August. Due to family plans (which had been conveyed to Kidwell much earlier) we were out of town for two weeks which pushed the project back again. Thus the project that was supposed to start and finish in August did not start until mid September.
Once begun the deck was well built, though the inspection and survey processes could have been scheduled more promptly.

Got the job done in one day, I had a lot of junk sitting around the house was able to work around it.  Also repaired some small damage to some wooden siding.  I was expecting it was going to have to be replaced

It didn’t go well.  Actually we had him come back and re do the work and it was so bad that my son took fixtures.  They tried to overcharge the amount that we had to cancel a check.  We have a condominium with our son and he is living out and so we are getting it ready.  We had an estimate and they said it would be more than six hours which was fine.  They said they will send two people there so that it won’t be over six hours.  He wasn’t available to be there but one of his friends was.  When they left after six hours they charged another $200 and she said no and got it down to $100 to $150 and she wrote a check out of her account and I told I’ll stop paying on that, because she said I was not going to like the way it looked.  We stopped payment on that and sent him some pictures and it took a couple of days before my son heard from them.  Whoever came could barely speak English and there was a huge communication difficulty.  They said they will start at      8 o’clock, and everything got here but she really didn’t start working and her friend stood and helped with materials instead of working that’s why they cancelled the check.  They put one inch of cock around the tub.  They installed the dishwasher and left the batting insulation hanging out.  They really did very bad job.  My son was not happy. They did call back and sent someone and they did the cleanup which they had left as a mess.  They left the tub filled with caulk and didn’t throw the extra caulk which they pulled out and squirt it all over and didn’t put in the trash can.  If I sent you pictures you will be hysterical.  There was a fence post and they were supposed to take off few inches and there was a trim that went around it.  They said we will take that off and rebuild the trim.  You can imagine a post with trim around it and my son bought post cap to go on it and instead of putting a trim with lighted corners they chopped four pieces of 2x4 and stuck it around there and the corners didn’t light.  The guy went up to corner 7/11 and picked up some people who said they could cock and they nodded their head and he brought him with and that’s the quality of work he got.  I would not recommend him, not when they don’t get quality workers to do the work.   One of them put in the sink and faucet and did a good job on that and that was the only good thing.  They shouldn’t have taken six hours to put in a sink and cock around two bath tubs.

They were extremely good at what they did and they were very talented painters. They were very conscientious and very specific about making sure that everything was done properly and the paint was where it was supposed to be. The people were very nice and communicative. They cleaned up every day after work. If they had any plastic sheeting or anything like that, they took it down and then replaced it the next day so it's not in the way. They swept and vacuumed up anything and cleaned up all their drop clothes and folded and put them in corner. I am very picky about paints because I used to do it and they matched my expectations of being very good. The drywall that had to be taken out and replaced, you can't even tell where it was done.

Initial contract was to pain one bedroom, interior stair risers, front door and exterior trim.  The price quote came in about $30 less than another company.  I accepted the offer and paid in advance.  The work was done 2 weeks later.  Upon inspection, we found that there was one riser left unpainted and the exterior trim around the garage door light was also left unpainted.  It took 4 weeks and several emails and phone calls to get the contractor to respond and finish the work.
Because we asked them to re-enter the house to finish the stairs, we also asked for an estimate to repaint the ceiling in the kitchen, caused by a water stain.  We told them to begin work if the cost did not exceed $250.  They began work, however, instead of repainting, they repaired it (removed the drywall around the stain, replaced, and plastered.)  They did not repaint as directed.
I asked them to stop all work on the house.  After several email and phone discussions, they admitted to their mistake and did not charge me for the work that was already done ($235 value).  We agreed that no more work would be done and we would end our contract as is.
I am still waiting on the contractor to return the house keys.
Overall, the work done by the contractor, Tony, was satisfactory, although incomplete.  The problem with this company is their management, which is unresponsive and lacks attention to detail.  Manager was not responsive to our emails and did not pay attention to details of our painting request.  I would not recommend this company based on their management of work contracts.  The quality of the work and the cost was good and competitive.

It was really good work, the quality was awesome. There were some problems with the quoting. They charged me extra to do a wrap around deck, but when they weren't able to do it they still tried to charge me.
I also have some low spots that puddle, I've called them about it and they haven't responded.
