    Troy-Bilt Construction
I hired Troy-Bilt-Construction for my deck and custom porch project and I couldn't be more happier and pleased with the final product! Troy is a true perfectionist when it comes to his trade! They showed up everyday and worked very long hours until the project was completed! Troy was very helpful In helping me make some of the design decions that I wasn't sure about and always thinking about keeping the structural support part of the build in mind! I truly love my new deck with a beautiful custom screen porch using the ScreenEze system! The job site was cleaned up at the end of everyday and all trash was taking away at the end of job! I highly recommend anyone looking to have work done on their home to not hesitate calling Troy for their project! He was a true proffessional from start to finish! I already have other future projects in mind that T-B-C will diffently being doing for me! GREAT JOB!! /Thank you so much Troy!

    Troy-Bilt Construction
We needed to expand our deck on our home and we hired Troy to do the work. He was very professional and did an excellent job! He did exactly as we asked and made sure that the new addition matched the existing deck perfectly. He also made sure the area was cleaned from any screws, wood, ect. once he was finished. We highly recommend him and would hire again if we have another project.

A simple replacement of the door to my shop outbuilding turned into an all day affair. Troy ended up having to take apart the sheet metal siding around the door of the shop in order to remove the door and then had to cut some of the siding in order to get everything back on after the new door was installed. He was constantly improvising as they ran into a constant barrage of issues. The finished product was great and should last longer than the 6 years of the original product.

    Integrity Home Contracting
The site lead was John Moura. He is extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about his trade. The built-in was constructed offsite and assembled at the house. Everything went according to schedule. After each work day, the site was cleaned and organized. The finished product is excellent and John stopped by a few months later to inspect and ensure satisfaction with the work. Overall, I am very impressed with John team's work and John's attention to detail, his high standards of craftsmanship, and zero tolerance for quality less than perfect. John has my full confidence and trust that future work will be completed to the highest standards.

Everything was top notch from the original estimate to the finished product.  Mike and Andy, who did the work, were amazing. They replaced far more spindles than originally estimated.  They were very detail oriented.  Mike essentially rebuild our porch rail rather than just repainting it. It's hard to find this kind of pride in workmanship! They also stuck to the original estimate although they used more material than originally estimated.

    Craftsman & Son Inc
He quality of work is outstanding. Cost effective. On time delivery. Here are more testimonials : Over the years, both contractors and home owners have sent in testimonials about the quality of the work of Craftsman and Son. Here are just a few: June 19, 2006 Troy Smith Construction, Inc. I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Curtis T. Wysel as a trim carpentry contractor. Curtis is a very talented and professional craftsman, he has shown general construction knowledge, and has been as asset to my company. Projects Curtis has been involved in with my company include many different types of trim, staircase construction, exterior siding, soffits, custom constructed doors, tongue and groove installation, and other high-quality work. I would highly recommend Mr. Wysel as a carpentry contractor. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Tony Smith, President 10/2010 Phil & Arlene DeSantis Standardsville, VA To Whom it may Concern: We gave Craftsman & Son, Inc. a near impossible job. We purchased a kitchen cabinet display from Lowe's and asked them to make it fit into our existing kitchen space. To be honest, the quality of the cabinets looked out of place in our small, modest home. Curtis and his son truly worked magic. They did an amazing job. They worked quickly and efficiently - always keeping our modest budget in mind. We really wanted granite countertops - and the cabinetry called out for an upscale countertop. They were able to fabricate a beautiful granite countertop with granite tiles for a fraction of the cost of solid granite. The area inside and out was left clean and tidy each day. I was working nights and sleeping days during the kitchen remodel. Amazingly, I didn't lose any sleep during this project! We would highly recommend Craftsman & Son, Inc. for your construction needs. November 5, 2010 Don and Debi Bailey Standardsville, VA Curtis Wysel and his son Dylan had previously done some work for me on my place in Dogwood Valley. I was very happy with his work on three previous projects, and asked if he would give us a quote on a rather sizable 20ft. x 20ft. shed. He immediately had some ideas for improvement that were ultimately incorporated into the final design. Instead of getting a plain 20ft. x 20ft building he changed the roofline to include a sizable carport, which is very useful and adds to the attractiveness of the structure. The project included some extensive ground work to allow access from our drive. Curtis suggested a stone wall to separate the two levels. Curtis constructed a fine stone wall around the periphery and graded the rest of the hill in preparation for a great rock garden. As before, we are very happy with the craftsmanship of the project and would recommend him (Craftsman and Son) to anyone looking for good quality work at a fair price.

    L&M Handyman Services
    ****Terrible experience***
Summary-I bought a cabin that had been vacant for three years and needed to be completely renovated, as my elderly parents were about to move in to live out their retirement years there.  Lonnie Pennington answered my online ad looking for someone to drywall a small utility room and bathroom, and one wall of a bedroom.  His charge to have it all finished was $500. After everything that happened below, he walked off the job after I had paid him almost his entire fee, even though he was less than half way done.  He left it a disaster. I've had to spend hundreds of extra dollars (and dozens of my own labor hours) to try and fix it, and it?s still not done.
He was unprepared in general, and frequently used my tools, even my drill (which you would assume a guy who does drywall would have), therefore putting wear and tear on them.  He did an incredibly slapdash job, and didn't even use the proper materials or do the proper steps.  For instance, he used the wrong materials for the corners, and said he only needed to do one coat of mud and one sanding to be finished.  I later found out from the people I had give me estimates to fix Lonnie?s work and from online research that you need at least three coats of mud with sandings in between each coat.
To this day I?m honestly unsure as to whether he had ever done drywall before.  For instance, there was a huge bulge going from floor to ceiling where two pieces of drywall met.  When I pointed this out, he said it was because of the house settling.  Not only was that just a lame excuse in general, but to add insult to injury, I actually had to get out a drywall knife and in front of him scrape away the joint mud to show him how to make it smooth.  There were also huge spots and gaps where he just didn?t put up drywall or have the pieces meet.   When I would point these things out to him, he would always blame his assistant.  Since he and his assistant worked side by side in close quarters, I?m confused at how he did not see these mis-steps.
The amount of time it took to get done was also a big issue, because my parents were going to be moving in the next week, and they obviously needed walls to be up.  When we first corresponded on April 11, 2013, Lonnie emailed and said he would start that Saturday and be done by Sunday evening. It definitely wasn?t finished in that amount of time, and he was working
    on it a week later.
On the last day, Lonnie dragged my table saw over the new hardwood floor, and you could actually hear a big scrape being made.  At this point you could definitely tell I was upset, but I still kept a respectful (though frustrated) tone when I asked him
to ?PLEASE? not do stuff like that.  I was on my last raw nerve since he was way behind schedule and was doing the
worst job on a home improvement project I?ve ever seen.  About a half an hour later, Lonnie said he was going to go to another job while a coat of mud in the bedroom was drying and come back another day.  I showed him that there were LOTS of other things he could be doing while it was drying, including sanding down the dried mud in the bathroom.
At this point, Lonnie said I wasn?t treating him with enough respect because I raised my voice when he scraped the table saw along my floor, so he walked off the job.  I never directed profanity at him, and even asked him to ?please? be more respectful of my property, so I?m still pretty confused about this.  The real reason he walked off the job was that I had already paid him 90% of his fee in cash, even though he was only about 30% done (a huge mistake on my part) and he just didn?t want to put in the effort of finishing it.
A couple days later I told him I expected partial refund because he didn?t finish the job, and all of his ?work? would have to be redone just to look half way presentable.  Lonnie then emailed me to apologize, and stated that he acted the way he did because of some personal issues, and also said *in writing* that he would give me the partial refund I asked for.
It has been over 3 months, and he still has not given the partial refund, even after I?ve repeatedly contacted him.  I?m currently seeking legal action for not only this, but also false advertising, because he states that all of his work comes with a 1 year warranty.

    Noonan's Handyman & Landscape Design
I contacted the Noonan's after reading their favorable reviews.  Since they are so well respected, they keep busy.
I got a call back within 12 hours and even though they were booked for months, they were able to refer me to someone they trusted.
