    Cancelled the job. With two young girls in the household, I could not wait three weeks for a repairman to show up. With the Sears Company in jeopardy of closing, offering lousy service is not the way to elicit a bigger customer base.

    I've used Raytech Appliance Service several times and each time I received excellent service. They arrive on schedule and get the work done quickly. They are friendly, courteous, and look for the most obvious, least expensive fix first. On this call, my daughter's washer wasn't cycling properly and would cut off in mid wash/rise. Raymond disassembled the washer, pulled out the filter/screen and cleaned it out. That sounds like an easy job but on this washer model it was much more difficult than it sounds. He said if it didn't work it would be a switch or an electronic board. It worked perfectly. He also recommended switching laundry detergent because he noticed the brand she was using probably caused bearing failure. Good people, decent prices, honest, and fair. Don't be afraid to call them...they won't try to rip you off.

    Sears Appliance Repair
    Terrible. Sears has now outsourced their repair people, and they came out a total of 3 times. It took weeks for them to show up, and each time it was a different person who acted like the person before them had no idea what they were doing. Each of the 3 times, they said it needed a different part, which we had to pay for. Then each of the 3 different parts didn't fix the machine at all. We were without a working washing machine for 3 months because Sears is using repair people who have NO idea what they are doing.

    Our 6 year old Whirlpool oven decided not to get up to temp. on New Years Day. We looked at new ranges and the one we decided on was $1000......I just couldn't let our oven go until I checked on possoble repair costs. Jerry at Apple took my model number and called me back with the cost of a new control unit.....We both agreed it was better to purchase a new oven.........Saved the time and cost of a service call. .....

    They looked at a few things and immediately told me it wasn't worth fixing. It would cost more to repair it than to buy a new one. He even drew me a picture of what broke and what all needed replaced.

    Jerry showed up within 2 hours of calling. Found the problem within 10 minutes, but had to go to Springfield to get the parts needed. Replaced the defrost heaters and the thermostat assembly and had everything cleaned up within 3.5 hours of first arriving. Most of my food was still salvageable - Thank you Jerry!

    It went well. I was at work, but my house sitter helped him find the washer. He had to unstack a dryer to get to the washer. After he replaced the part, he ran a cycle in the machine to make sure it worked correctly. He then put everything back where it belonged.

    Great! Technician called ahead and was on time, neat and courteous. He asked some questions about the history of the appliance and investigated the problem, identifying a bad controller board. The part needed to be ordered, so it was a couple of days later when the part was available. It was quickly installed and has been working well since.

    the subcontractor was very good and professional. However the Sears rep lied to me on my initial phone call. He said the 99 dollars would be applied to the total fee if I agreed to do the work when the repair man arrived. Bottom line is they added the 99 dollars to the total, vice applying it to the total. I called a number of "bean counters" at sears and was essentially told tough luck. I will never buy anything from Sears again, nor will I use their home repair services. Sad to see the demise of a formerly great business.

    Ace Appliance Repairs Inc
    On the initial call I left a message and got a prompt call back. Ace appliance stated he could come in an hour which was awesome. He came, diagnosed the problem and fixed it in minutes. He said if any more issues arise just give him a call. That's the problem now. The same problem returned and I cannot get a return call back. I've left numerous messages and nothing. Highly dissappointed and not recommended.
