    CRYSTAL INTERIOR UPHOLSTERY
Crystal and her team brought life back to our old chair that looked ready for the landfill. They did such a fabulous job that we brought back an accent chair that also turned out sensational, Awesome work!

    CarolinaCushion.com
After requesting several free material swatches, we chose the one we thought would look best with the other furniture in the room. Since the cushions had been used for many years--we decided to order not only the covers but the foam & cushions.
We just received them a few days ago.
It is like having 2 new pieces of furniture!
Made a few calls with the company, prior to ordering--always very friendly & were able to answer any questions I had. I had checked other sites--& these prices were so much more reasonable!
A neighbor had given me their name & info as they had ordered several times for replacement cushion.
We couldn't be happier with their work!! Will definitely recommend them & will use the again, if needed!

    Pridgen Upholstery
My husband and I couldn't be happier with the re-upholstery that Harry Pridgen, and his able and very kind assistant, Carl did for us this Christmas season.
We had 2 pieces - a matching 3 seater sofa and loveseat that my parents purchased from Marshall Fields in the 70s.  The front rail of the sofa was broken from countless international and domestic moves.  The fabric was obviously dated and the cushions
    decimated from years of compaction.
I sent photos to 4 or 5 upholstery/furniture repair outfits in the Wilmington area.  One of the furniture repair specialists told me to look up Harry to see if he could do both the upholstery and the repair to save on time and costs.  That's a great endorsement, and I'm glad I followed his suggestion.
In the end, Harry and one other outfit were able to do both re-upholstery and repair.  Both are reputable - the other company does a *lot* of insurance claim repair.  But their quote was considerably higher than Harry's.
Both shops suggested that I go to Mills Fabric Outlet on College to purchase fabric.  When I mentioned both names to the lady
there, she said I can't go wrong with either and that I had 2 of the best names in the business.  She said Harry was "very particular" about his finishes.  Another great endorsement!
Harry and Carl arrived promptly to pick up the couches free of charge, took them to their workshop, consulted with me on fabric swatches regarding suitability and ease of stitching, explained what foam to buy and returned all calls promptly.  Harry's a little hard to understand on the phone, but don't let that deter you!!!!!  He and Carl are both unfailingly polite, friendly and down to earth.
Couches were picked up 12/12, fabric dropped off 12/17, couches delivered (again free of charge, and completely covered to protect their hard work) 12/28 [Keep in mind that there are 2 weekends plus the Christmas holiday in that timeframe - I wasn't kidding when I said "their hard work"!].  I have posted both before and after photos so you can see the transformation.  They look
AWESOME!!!!!  We are so thrilled and want to direct everyone contemplating an re-upholstery project to Harry and Carl because they are great peeps and craftsmen of the highest caliber.
Any further questions about our experience with them, please feel free to ping me here on Yelp.  As you can see from my previous posts, I am a stickler for customer service and also good quality work.  Harry and Carl exceeded our expectations on all fronts.  We would give them 6 stars if we could.

    Create A Scene
I gave Create a Scene a B for punctuality only because I had emailed the information and a picture after I talked to Ruth.  I never heard back from her but I did have fair warning that technology wasn't her cup of tea.  Luckily for me I called her back and she was in the neighborhood and came right by to look at the chair.  She took the fabric I had and the furniture straight away to get started and saved me the trouble (and delivery charge) of getting it out to the workshop.  I had 10 yards of fabric that I had bought a long time ago....it was discontinued so getting more was out of the question.  The fabric is a tapestry design that repeated itself in squares and straight lines so getting everything lined up was critical.  Ruth and George were incredible!  The worked that fabric and got every last inch out of it and had everything lining up beautifully!  Ruth recommended cording for the chair and had not only selected the perfect complementing color, but even dropped off a sample to make sure I was okay with it.  The seat cushion was a bit worn so George worked a little magic and was able to plump it up and with Ruth's sewing, everything looks brand new!  The whole job was done in a week and I could not be happier!  Both are conscientious workers and proud of their craft...as they should be!  All of my future reupholstering will be done with Create A Scene!

    Spicer's Upholstery
Mr. Spicer was great! I am thoroughly happy with the outcome of my sofa cushions. I had a 2 year-old sofa that had flattened out. The material was still in great condition, but the cushions were really sagging and actually made it very hard to sit on. I took the cushions to Mr. Spicer and thought I was going to have to have them completely restuffed. I'm no upholster but the way he explained it me, I understood that the cushions I had were actually pretty good already - they had springs in them. He said that to replace that would probably be a significant cost - maybe $100/cushion! He suggested wrapping the cushions instead and I only ended up paying $360.00 for the all six of the cushions!
And I love them! He was prompt, courteous, and professional. And as others have said he has a LOT of other fabrics in his store that gave me all sorts of ideas for pillows, etc. I'm sure I will be back!

    Kings Upholstery & Drapery
I came into the shop after searching for an upholstery shop online. I saw the good reviews for this place, and they were close to my home. I needed a quick sewing job on a specialty item that required a heavy duty sewing machine. This was not something that they normally do, but were very nice and accommodating, and were able to do the job for me while I waited. I was very grateful, and they charged me a very fair price. I would recommend them and use them again if I had upholstery needs.

    Upholstery Restoration & Select Fabrics
The company has two divisions, upholstery and refinishing and they specialize in antiques. Beverly provided expert assistance in selecting just the right fabric for the Victorian chair and they did a wonderful job with restoring the finish and retiring the springs and replacing the webbing. They re-rushed the 3 ladderbacks and restored the finish so the look new. They took a round, handmade table that had been abused in an assisted living facility and restored the top with a finish that matched the original on the base and then restored that finish. They did a wonderful job. The picked up when they said they would (1 hour block) and delivered when they said they would. They were not low cost, but you never get what you don't pay for. The work was worth the cost. My only complaint was that the refinishing work took a month longer than estimated. Fortunately we were not in a rush so it really didn't matter.

    G Street Fabrics
G street is awesome. We worked with Cat who was truly outstanding in her service. Friendly, helpful, professional, had a good eye for fabrics, and helped us keep the cost down. When we couldn't find a nice/ inexpensive fabric for our couch, but then after we left she found one of our top choice fabrics in the remnants section and called us right away so we could put it on hold. We even mentioned that we were next door at Barns and Noble and since G street was closing she brought us the swatch at Barns and Noble! Amazing! We love her, haven't gotten our furniture back yet, but will post another review when we do.

    Kings Upholstery & Drapery
I have used Kings for upholstery in the past with excellent results. This was the first time I had curtains made by Mrs. King. Everything was wonderful from start to finish. I couldn't be more pleased with the high quality of the curtains and valances.
I provided the fabric and lining. Mrs King spent time with me going over my order to ensure that I would receive everything that I wanted. One of the fabrics has a larger pattern/repeat. When I told them I was hoping to have extra fabric to use for pillows, they planned ahead and figured out the best way to cut the larger print fabric in order to leave me with enough fabric for my pillows.
They are a busy shop, but will always have your project ready for you when they say it will be done. They are definitely worth using for your upholstery or drapery projects.

    SPARKLE UPHOLSTERY
Our sofa and love seat had been shredded by our cats, but the basic structure and cushions were fine. I found it was less expensive to reupholster than replace the sofas with furniture of comparable quality. I checked out several upholsterers, some of whom offered lower prices and faster turnaround, but none gave me the level of confidence that Julie Kim did when I visited the premises to check out fabrics. There was a huge selection of fabrics, and Julie pointed me to ones that met my criteria (navy blue base, contemporary design, extremely hard-wearing, and smooth to the touch so it would not be inviting to claws). Julie was easy to talk to and very professional. The work took about 5 weeks, but it was well worth the wait. Unlike some other companies, Sparkle Upholstery does all work on their premises. The quality exceeded my expectations: When it came back, the furniture looked better than it did when it was brand new. A protective spray had been applied to the new fabric, which looked exactly as I'd envisioned, and all scratches on the wood trim had been touched up. Sparkle both picked up and delivered the furniture, showing up right on time and getting the furniture into and out of the truck quickly. I highly recommend this company.
