Land Surveying reviews in Springfield

    Greg Koopman
He was early and did a great job serving the land so I can market for a fence. He educated me in Ohio laws and helped me to better understand where everything was and how to review when working with a company for fencing. I would highly recommend him and I'm so glad I was able to find him using Angie's List. By far the best for your money, he is retired so he's not doing this to make billions but rather doing it because he enjoys it that's the kind of guy I want doing more of my work.

    Apex Surveys
I contacted Apex Surveys through Angie's List one evening and received a phone call back the next morning.  I was converting my garage into an office and needed a revised plat to file with the county.  Apex did the survey on my property that was used when I purchased the house and they were able to quickly locate my files and discuss what I needed done.   After a brief phone discussion I was able to schedule my job and the workers showed up the next day.  I informed them that I needed a quick turnaround and I was able to get the revised plat within a week of my initial call.
I was home when the crew arrived and found them to be professional and courteous.  They worked efficiently, took care of my property, and in my brief discussion with the team leader I found him to be very personable and knowledgeable of his craft.  I was glad to find such a reputable and long standing neighborhood business (North Springfield) to support   While a property survey is not type of ting I will need done often, I would use them again in heartbeat and would highly recommend them to anyone else looking for a land surveyor.  A+ on professionalism, cost, and turnaround.

    Dominion Surveyors, Inc.

They are honest!  Mr. O'Quinn spoke with me on the phone for at least 15 minutes and walked me through (in great detail) my issues and gave me several suggestions on how I could proceed.  It should be noted that for my particular issues...none of his recommendations involved me spending money or selling me a service that I didn?t need.  He assessed my situation and gave me the best advice for my situation.  This is the type of business that I expect to find on Angie's List!  You have earned a loyal customer.

    Thurber Engineering and Land Surveying
Mr. Thurber was prompt with his responses to my inquiries on Angie's list.  We communicated through the Angie's list email center which I really like and whenever I wrote a follow up question he answered within the same day.  He requested a down payment, which was a little more than half his fee, which I think is fair and I liked because it allowed me to pay in smaller increments.
He gave me a scheduled date not too far in advance ( within a week of my down payment) and he showed up pretty early to perform the work (it may have been 7:30 which was great for me because I was able to talk to him before I left for work).   Although I had sent him a plat he also performed independent research and had gained that understanding in preparation for the job. I think he was here quite a long time performing the survey (several hours?).  He had an assistant with him.  A few days after the survey he sent me a plat with his markings and other landmarks noted.  He also physically marked the key points of our property line with physical markers.  I am very happy with his professionalism, kind manner and prompt service from beginning to end.

    Thurber Engineering and Land Surveying
I needed this survey done quickly because another company who was supposed to do the work was unable to at the last minute and Jim was willing and able to step in and get the the job done within the time period needed. His price was excellent and the quality of the work was high. I would definitely use him again. Additionally, when I contacted him again because I needed another copy of the plat, which I had misplaced, he responded within minutes with the document.

    Thurber Engineering and Land Surveying
I called Jim to get a quote for a survey of our plot in order to extend the fence to our property line.  He was able to come out later in the week and perform the service.  He located and marked the original iron pins as well as putting in new stakes for me to mark where our fence can go.  Extremely professional and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or use his services again.

    Alexandria Surveys, LLC
They said that they would produce a written survey showing trees included in my property and the company would send me the report within one week.  Three weeks and several calls later, I still have not received the survey, and I am quite frustrated.

Needed the property boundaries verified before a major landscaping and fencing project. Called Jim and he was able to come out in about a week.
Arrived on time and found the original iron pins at the boundary points that I could not locate, which indicated about a 4' error in what I assumed were the property lines. He verified the pin locations based on the plat and then put intermediate marking posts along the two sides in question to establish the boundaries for the other contractors.
Fast, reliable, and best price for this work.

Jim came out and surveyed our lot for an addition found that our addition would not fit where we wanted to put it due to county setbacks, he gave us some options and helped us to make it work. He is the only one that caught the fact that we were over the setback line, this issue could have caused us to have to tear down the addition and start over. As anyone knows this could have caused a serious financial problem for us, Thank you Jim!!!!!!! I would recommend him to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I forgot to mention the price was GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Dominion Surveyors, Inc.
In Oct 2013, I started looking for a surveyor to stake my yard for a new fence. Dominion was $50 higher than the company I wanted to use but that company never responded to my emails. Dominion responded quickly so I went with them. They came quickly and staked my yard as I requested in mid-October. By the end of October, I still hadn't received an invoice from them, so I went ahead and sent a check. Over the next several months, my check was never cashed. Then in mid-January, I got a and quot;secondand quot; invoice from them. I immediately sent them an email saying I never got the first invoice and that I'd mailed them a check 2 and half months earlier that they should cash. Finally, A WEEK LATER, Pam the bookkeeper responded to my email claiming she never received my check. I told her I would send another one less the $30 stop payment fee on the first check. She took ANOTHER WEEK to respond to that email and said that she hadn't received my second check for $400. She also said that if she found my first check she would destroy it. I told her it was too late. I had given her a week to respond to my email and when she didn't I went ahead and mailed a second for $370. It's completely ridiculous to take a week to answer customer emails. I think they're completely disorganized and lost my first check and Pam only thinks she sent an invoice in October.
