    Green Vista Tree Care
I could not ask for a better job. Beginning with Wiley Holland's appraisal of the tree--dying (and why) and why the danger this now posed to us and our neighbors; his cost estimate, and determination that this was an "urgent" job Green Vista Tree Care handled this job with unsurpassed professionalism. Five days after Wiley's estimate, the Green Vista crew was on site and on the job! The job required a ten-man crew, crane truck with 120' extendable boom chipper truck, anat least two wood hauling trucks, two timber/cutters, and an experienced crane operator. The crane was positioned in our front yard with the boom extending over our roof to the oak in out back yard. The boom was used to lower cut limbs directly from the tree and to pick up limbs lowered by rope to our back yard. The crane then lifted the larger limbs over our house and lowered them into prepositioned trucks. Smaller branches were cut by the crew and then carried up to the front yard to feed a chipper. The work was non stop except for a half hour lunch break, and the entire job including extensive clean up was finished in under eleven hours. The crew also cut to order four sections of one of the tree's trunks to be made into tables at a later date (by a furniture craftsman). The crew cleared and cut some foliage from other trees and bushes to gain unimpeded access to the oak but they took extreme care not to damage our extensive gardens, nearby garden shed, or our home (much appreciated). The twin stump was sawed off at my designated level and cut as level as possible so it can be used as a stand for flowers or other objects (see attached picture). All said, this was an unbelievably great job and a challenging one at that. The reason I give a 'B' instead of an 'A' for cost is that I had one lower estimate but even so this was 10K well spent. I would recommend Green Vista Tree Care to anybody. I'm attaching two additional pictures of the tree before it was cut to give and idea of its size.

    Precision Tree
Chris and his people at Precision Tree are fabulous people to work with. Ive used them twice, first back in August 2017 to remove a 70-foot-tall Silver Maple in front of our house. They did a fantastic job at a very fair price. They brought in a huge crane and made quick work of the tree, using an immense grinder to chew everything up. They ground the stump down well below ground level and regraded the soil. Months later the grass had covered over to the point you would not realize the tree had ever been there. More recently (July 2019), I had Chris come out to advise me on trimming a couple of large trees and possibly removing some smaller trees in my back yard, to allow me to install some Amateur Radio antennas. Chris immediately recognized what needed to be done and scheduled his team to come by one morning. Within two hours of their arrival, everything was trimmed, removed, and cleaned up. This is what customer-oriented service is all about. In both cases, they did exactly what needed to be done, effectively and efficiently. The cleaned up and left the yard in great shape and did it at a fair price. I highly recommend them for any tree related services you may need.

    K. Brooks Junk Removal LLC
Kyle took care of everything I needed removed including 2 bulky TV sets and 2 large metal file cabinets that were in the basement and needed to be hauled up stairs and outside. Kyle came within 24 hours after I contacted him and came within the designated timeframe - keeping me apprised of his schedule. He and his helper were very polite and quickly got rid for of my junk. What recommend them to anyone who needs things of no worth removed from their houses. Will use them again.

    H & C Construction Services LLC
I was referred to H&C by a friend for a roofing project. They were efficient, professional, affordable, and transparent throughout the process. My neighbor and I collaborated on the project since we share a roof, and H&C worked with us both together and individually to make sure our costs were kept low, but that each household knew what was being done on their side. That to me was above and beyond what they needed to do. Following that project, I used H&C again for a few additional projects around the house like tearing down an old shed and hauling it away and repairing damaged drywall in several places. They were fast and thorough. Having received a few quotes in the past on the projects, I also knew I was getting an extremely reasonable deal. One of the projects required drilling concrete to move a drain and H&C had the skill and expertise to carry the job out while already onsite. Not only has H&C been the go-to contractor I've been looking for in the area, but they have proven to go above and beyond on a number of occasions. Their work ethic and their superior customer service makes them an excellent choice for getting the job done right! I highly recommend H&C and will continue to make them my first call when anything needs fixing around the house.

Went very well. Jonathan responded almost immediately after I posted my request. He came out that very day and gave me a quote that was approx. 40% less than others. Came back the next day and completed the job quickly.

    Ryan's Landscaping Inc
Excellent. Despite the very rainy weather preceding the scheduled start date, Ryan and his crew showed up the first day and made fast work of the tasks to be done. He consulted with us about progress and ofter some helpful suggestions to improve the appearance and maintainability of the yard. He and his crew removed all the waste and left the area neat and tidy. He provided detailed instructions for maintaining the sod so it would get a good start.

    Nova Junk Removal LLC
Omar and his crew arrived on time. They had to remove a number of old, unwanted furniture and trash items, i.e. mattress and box spring, accent chairs, old tables from my basement. I have an old house with tight door openings and corners. They navigated through the rooms without a hitch. Very professional and pleasant. They worked quickly. Cost was reasonable for the amount of stuff to get out of my house. It would have taken me a number of trips back and forth to the dump to move that much stuff. They responded to my inquiry on Thursday and arrived on Friday morning. Great service.

    Ryan's Landscaping Inc
I would never use this company again. Important components of the contracted work were simply not done. I had been away from the area for knee replacement surgery, returning the day before the work was to be done. I had exchanged several emails beforehand with Ryan to obtain clear confirmation of what would be covered in the contract before I signed it and sent the deposit. He confirmed all by email. The day of the job he showed up mid-afternoon to collect payment. Some of the work was fine, and the crew had worked hard. But when I was strong enough to walk behind the house after about a week, I discovered major omissions on one side of the lot -- things like removal of tree trunk sections, boards, and a rose bush -- that were explicitly contracted and confirmed by email, but not done. Supposing they would readily come to correct this, I phoned the office manager, and later sent photos as followup. She confirmed she had followed the phone and email exchange, and agreed that the missing elements of the work should have been included. Ryan called back quite late that afternoon; he was oddly loud, aggressive, and insulting from the outset. Instead of offering to come back to understand and correct the omissions. He proceeded to make various arguments about why he would not complete the rest. First was that they had done "other things." Second was a claim that my son, who had just brought me home after knee surgery, had "walked through with him five times." (Later he inflated it to "seven.") I was indoors, as was my son for most of the time Ryan was here, both working on other matters. So I would have been aware of that, had it occurred. My son was was in no way involved in the contract and also disputes Ryan's assertion. Another excuse Ryan offered was that I had already paid him and added "extra" (which had been intended as a tip for the crew) so he claimed the work must have been fine. I've never had to deal with a business owner so unconcerned with fair dealing or contract fulfillment, or so immature, arrogant, or unprofessional. After more emails, Ryan eventually emailed that he would come back and "look." He arrived a few days later, parking his truck across the end of my driveway, and completely blocking it. After constantly-shifting statements that he would come back and complete one, or another, but definitely not all of the items contracted but not completed, I stated that he should simply complete what he had agreed to in the contract. He angrily stormed off. He phoned back to offer a check for $100 (much less than I'll have to pay to get the work finished, so not acceptable). What kind of business tries to change terms of a signed, written contract after the fact? Summary: incomplete work, volatile and rude, intimidating behavior towards customer. Just don't use him, especially if you are a senior. He subsequently sent a check for $100. I waited for him to change his mind and finish the work, but when it became clear he would not do that, I cashed the check to minimize my loss. I would have been happy to change the review had he completed the agreed work. The $100 did not cover my excess cost to complete, so I am publishing the review. (In the process of tackling the rest of the cleanup, I did find two very reliable and consumer-oriented contractors I can call on in the future, which is at least a small consolation.)
