    Fauquier Health System Inc
Pre-registration called and made an appointment so that on the day of surgery, there was no admin.waiting time. They also held classes for joint replacement patients, a few weeks prior to surgery. These prepared me for what to expect before, during and after surger After waiting about 30 minutes over my appt. time, they took me to pre-op. I was prepped for the surgery. The Nurses, the surgeon and the anthesiologist all visited me prior to the surgery. They asked a number of pertinent questions. After about another 30 minute wait I was wheeled into surgery and went to sleep. Some time later I awoke in the hospital room. I had a private room, as that is the only type rooms this hospital has, at present. They had me to stand up briefly. The Physical Therapy nurse visited and said PT would start the next day. I was on a self-administering morphine button, so pain was kept at a reasonable level. Over the next 3 days I had visits twice daily by the surgeon. I was taken to PT twice a day and started learning PT that would allow me to be able to walk on the new knee as soon as possible. I was discharged after 3 days. to home health care. The hospital food was better than average, for hospital food. Most nurses were extremely helpful, especially the night nurses.

    Giant Pharmacy
This pharmacy is always on the ball.  They now have a system that they call you to remind you when a key prescription needs to be refilled that should be taken every day.  Its a nice service.  They always call us by name and are responsive to quesitons.

Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield
Have been very pleased with Anthem's coverage of 2 doctor visits -- 1 dentist, 1 Gyn -- this year. Payment for services was as expected or less in all instances, including prescription costs and vaccination. 2 phone calls during the last few months for further information were handled promptly and professionally -- I rec'd answers and good customer service. I hope this level of service continues.

Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield
All services provided by Anthem have been as expected or less costly than expected. Very pleased with coverage and customer service via phone thus far. Hope that this level of service provided with "Smart Sense" plan continues.

    American Foreign Service Protective Association
This review is for Coventry Health Care's Foreign Service Benefit Plan which is a program for federal employees. My husband and I started this plan while living overseas in Germany and it was great because they covered everything and we didn't need pre-authorization for services or prescriptions. Overseas we could see any doctor we chose (no networks). Being back in the states is a bit different. The biggest complaint I have using Coventry in the U.S. is the lack of in network mental health professionals (e.g., psychiatrist) and specialists (e.g., dermatology) in the Fredericksburg, VA area (we live in Spotsylvania). Coventry is not a popular insurance around here so there are a few doctors our family uses that are not in network. I want doctors close to home and traveling 45-90 minutes is not worth it for me even though we would save money. Another issue I had just this week is not being able to pick up my migraine medication at the local pharmacy. This is a medication I used for three years overseas with this insurance plan and it was always covered. Now I am told that my doctor needs to contact Coventry and explain why he is prescribing this for me. I assume it is expensive medicine and they would probably prefer he prescribe something that comes in generic. I do not know how this will turn out but I am hopeful that my doctor can convince them that this medication works very well for me and it will be allowed. Stay tuned... What I like about Coventry's Foreign Service Benefit Plan is that I can quickly talk to someone when I call the number on the back of the card. I am never on hold for long at all (usually no wait) and they are always friendly and helpful. Reimbursement while living overseas was done in a timely matter. I also like that it is a coinsurance (no co-pay when seeing doctors).
