AStructural Masonry Services IncCharlie assessed a retaining wall that had began to buckle in, causing a bow towards my main house. Charlie laid out his plan to fix the issue and where I wouldn’t have to worry about the wall again. Hesitant given the close proximity to the main electric feed and sewer lines running through the area I allowed Charlie to repair the wall. I am extremely impressed with the level of service that was given. The carefulness and execution of the plan Charlie put in place was 100% on target. All of this work was done in a very timely manner. I would recommend this company for any future work.- Ryan S.

AStructural Masonry Services IncThis was a serious structural job but Charlie of Structural Masonry took it on without the blink of an eye. He had no doubt about what needed to be done to resolve the issues from the moment he surveyed the problem and walked me through the basics of how he would fix the issue. He also explained the work as he actually did it once he was on the job as I really wanted to understand the process. I could give you many more details but all you really need to know is that Charlie's work is superior. He goes totally above and beyond what you hire him to do. You will be so glad--and very relieved!--if you hire him!- Shirley B.

AStructural Masonry Services IncCharles Rivenbark, Principal of Structural Masonry Services (Fredericksburg), recently constructed my new sidewalk that runs from the front door entrance to the driveway. This job was necessary, because I was having my driveway repaved, and the sidewalk tied into the driveway. The old sidewalk was mediocre at best, had insufficient rock bed, and was too narrow to maneuver on comfortably. Additionally, sinking and cracking, and water drainage flow was a problem, and its aesthetic appearance was poor. Long story short, Mr. Rivenbark professionally installed a new sidewalk that met high construction standards. The job was small by concrete standards, but Mr. Rivenbark was one of the few licensed contractors willing to do the job. The old sidewalk measured 22 feet long, 3 feet wide and was 3 inches thick. Very little rock bed supported the sidewalk, and no wire mesh or rebar was used. The new sidewalk measured slightly over one cubic yard at 22 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 4 inches thick. The forms were aligned properly, sufficient rock bed was laid, and rebar was used as an underlying reinforcement. Finally, the new sidewalk has an ever-so-slight angle of tilt to allow proper water drainage. Summary: Mr. Rivenbark is a professional, Class A licensed contractor, who is tops with concrete!- John W.

AVA. Brick DoctorOur front steps to our porch had seemed to settle, and there were cracks and gaps all over. Knowing we were going to have to rebuild them, we called VA Brick Dr first based on reviews. He even had us send him some pictures over text later in the day so he could start to give us an idea of what we were looking at. He came out the next day and examined our steps. He took a good long look at them and realized only one step had actually shifted, the rest of the steps and base were as they should be. He recommended only rebuilding the one step since everything else was measured correctly. Thrilled with that assessment, we had him do the work. I have no doubt other companies would have looked and just told us to rebuild the whole step structure, but he really took the time to make sure he gave us his honest opinion. About a month later he came and did the repair (weather kept delaying), and the end result came out better than we had hoped. He cleaned up the steps and joints all over, and looks good as new.- Chaz T.

AStructural Masonry Services, was prompt with all communication and quoting for the project. Not knowing everything that goes into pouring demo and pouring I didn't realize my relatively tiny front area was a 4 day event, one for demo, one for forming, a pour day, and another for finishing touches. The price I paid to have a crew out for four days was a fantastic value and the quality of the work was top notch. Having other work going on at my home at the same time Structural Masonry Services was able to overcome obstacles provided not by the work itself but other contractors which was greatly appreciated.

ARhonda salesperson was great but overworked and should have given me a list of things to do for prep like since I had a cooktop they cut the quartz onsite so my whole house was covered in dust when done including the drawers and cabinets next to it. If I would have known, I would have covered the room entries and removed the drawers. Also things like know where your water and gas turnoff are. The installer was new so they caulked and left right away an has to get them back to recaulk where sunk in. Rhonda was attentive to making sure they came back to do that. She was also awesome in helping me make the right selection for my kitchen. The installers had to deal with uneven cabinets and they were awesome at figuring out how to handle that . And definitely beat Lowes price. All of that is why I gave them an A.

FI am a 65 year old disabled veteran taking care of my 95 year old mother. We went with Long Roofing thinking we would have a professional experience. Furthest thing from the truth. Install was bad. No communication between anyone in the company to resolve issues. Repair/replace has been pursued since install in November of 2018. Company has refused to acknowledge mistakes even after numerous "inspections", a large number of photos and independent inspector I had to hire at my expense to validate my issues. I have had to go through more than The company seems too busy to take care of their customers correctly. I am still in the process of trying to get my roof fixed from their install and it is March of 2019.

Pool Deck Contractor
Recent Review:
FInstalled pool deck. The concrete started chipping and cracking. Removed a section and reinstalled concrete, but did not put the color in the concrete to match the previous pour (we paid additional $810 for color). Several slabs cracking now. They are refusing to fix, replace, etc. saying it isn't structural issues. Have had other concrete contractors look at it and say they ARE structural cracks. Looks horrible and getting worse and worse!!!! Owner is very confrontational and unprofessional. This has been going on since 2017!!!!!!!

Recent Review:
FThe project started out with an expected completion date of 2 weeks. The workers initially showed up erratically then gradually tapered off. Additional damage was found that was apparently there long before we bought the house in 2016 but we were told any further work would need be stopped until we were able to finance an additional $10,000 + leaving other areas of the floor and insulation unfinished. We were also expected to pay costs outside of the terms of the original contract or threatened with a lien on our home. We asked the contractor come back and complete the flooring up to the area the area of additional repairs with the agreement to prepay to make it safer for our toddler while we were in the process of refinancing our house to be able to pay for the additional repairs. Mr. Hammond has only contacted us through email taking up to several days for a response and refused to return any of our calls or text messages then mostly recently advised us that he had larger more time consuming jobs to complete and didn't know when he could get back to our job and suggested we hire another contractor.

Recent Review:
AWe could not be more pleased with the installation of our back splash which Pete did for us. He is a super nice person, very honest, reliable and his work is impeccable. We used a natural stone for our back splash which is not easy to install because of the variations in color. He took such care and was so precise that the job exceeded our expectation. It looks totally natural and he did an amazing job in terms of making the ends match perfectly and the cuts are so clean. His craftsmanship is above and beyond anything I have seen in recent years and I might add that I am also not easy to please.
The only negative, if there is one, is that he is sometimes difficult to reach. However, he will always return the call and is well worth waiting for.
Thank you Pete for such an amazing job.
