Our furnace motor was making a loud noise, and Chris Suttles came by and diagnosed the problem shortly after I called. He fixed the problem that afternoon, and the furnace is now quieter than it's ever been. I asked him to come by the next week and give the furnace a tune-up and clean the heating ducts. When Chris opened one of the supply ducts, he found the inside of the ducts had a sticky, oil-like coating. I decided to replace the ductwork, and he replaced all of the ductwork in 2 days. The air coming out of our vents is now cleaner, warmer, and stronger.

    Southwest Sunroom & Window Co.
... After studying their High Quality work on a friend's 2nd Story Sunroom and Dining Room... My Bride and I decided that we wanted this little company in Salem to build our Dream Room. Steve ( Southwest Sunroom Sales Manager ) was right on track; He reassured us that the Southwest Team could handle any contingency. And they did with Incredible Results ! Personable and friendly communication, and coordination, removed all the stress that comes with any challenging project - they actually made it fun. These are professional contractors and builders and a service team that deliver to Happy Customers. Some events: Pergula takedown, Deck removed, Fish pond moved and filled in, Electrical power updated to code, and power lead moved to other side of home... Then the really impressive Construction started on our 14x18-foot new "LIVING ROOM" There were No Inspection Issues, WOW. And believe me, the inspectors were here during All stages of the project (s), You get your money's worth plus = Southwest always builds safe, above, and beyond the code. i.e. you can literally drive a tank up on the subfloor and foundation. It Is BUILT ! I retired from the U.S Marines and have spent the last 26 years in Service and Installation work locally, and have been to "some" job sites and teamed up with lots of service people. What has impressed me most about the Southwest folks was how motivated and skilled the two guys that did most of the construction were... Troy and Key really excel in my book, and they obviously love the kind of challenging work they do. Come sun or rain , they were here early and motivated and ready with a plan to get 'er done. Communication and Status updates are very good top-down = Service Manager and VP (Kevin) Kept all of us in the loop informed... Even after the initial startup and walk around... to make sure each Builder, Contractor, and Customer is Happy and on the same sheet of music. Noteworthy: When the guys who are actually building your sunroom care enough to call and remind you "that if anything should go wrong this weekend [ because of an approaching tropical storm ] please just call us, we will be home all weekend." That is when you know Southwest has attracted some really Great Employees ! By the way, the new roof and guttering held back and dispersed an incredible amount of rain. The cleanup was always immaculate every day and at Completion = You almost can't tell they were even here and the Mud had been very high... Well, I lied just a little; There is this incredibly fine building attached to our little home. It is really more of a cathedral than a Sunroom ! This experience, and this addition, has been BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST THINGS WE HAVE EVER DONE. Pat and Theresa L 2018 Salem Virginia [ smile ]

    W C Butler Heating & Air
On 5-17-16 WC Butler replaced the blower motor (approx. $600 for the motor) in my air handler, I contacted them serval times after that about the motor being the wrong one, It moved too much air for my size unit and also shook the floor anytime it was on like crazy. It moved so much air that it would create such a negative air pressure that it sucked in the smoke smell from my neighbors chimneys. They never responded. On 12-30-17 the motor finally died from being the wrong size for the house as well as it was it turned out to be a generic universal replacement (US Motors) unit that was not made well, this motor they charged me $600 for costs about $85. I had WC come back for emergency after hours when it went out, they did not have one to replace it. They said for $500 they could get me the same motor again, I asked about the warranty on the one they put in (it was only 1.5 years) the technician actually told me I would have to contact the manufacture for that motor they installed. Anyway, I did not do business with WC Butler again. I paid their $100 service fee and went with another company who not only did it for much much less, but also installed a genuine Goodman part that comes with a 3yr warranty rather than a knock off part. WC Butler may have gotten more money out of me in the short term but in the long term, they have not. They do not stand behind their work, they are not honest, and are a rip off. I will never do business with WC Butler again, and at some point, I will need my HVAC unit replaced, and I can say it will not be with WC Butler it will be with an honest company.

    Platinum Heating and Air
Great !!! Returned my call in a quick timely manner. Had a crew at my office the same day and had my system fixed and working. I didn't have to close for business that day which was great. I have hired them now to continually inspect and maintain my office system every quarter. I was so impressed with their professionalism and neatness of their work that hired them to install a heat pump in the upstairs portion of my home that I had finished into a bedroom and a bonus room. Prices were great and I got a 10 year warranty

The copay was $75. All we had to pay for was the freon, so that’s pretty good. For quality rating, we would run into the same problem, is it the equipment or is it the person installing it, because it fell apart 3 months later. They had to come in and go upstairs into my attic and bring all that stuff down, and replace all that equipment up there. It was there cost. They responded quickly. It was our first time with them and our first time we our home warranty company. Everything seemed to be just fine with us at that point. I don’t remember how long it took, it was probably a couple of days. They had to get the equipment and then you have to go back to our home warranty company and get them to approved it, and then to the supplier and all that. It takes time to get all that done, but it’s usually a couple of days. The technicians were very good at explaining things. Give them an “A” on explanation.

It has been okay. We only paid the initial fee and the freon since we use a warranty company. They have been out here so much that they do respond. Getting the parts is different story. Parts of them are real good and some parts are not. I don't know if the problem is with the supplier or the company. My husband would use them again but I am not so sure. They are a relatively new company. They are trying very hard but they miss the mark a lot of times. They are very sincere and honest with what they are trying to do. They are just not quite there yet. They had to replace it twice so it took some time. Our warranty company let them replace part of the unit, the first time they were out here. Then they were out here a couple of months after that. They ended up replacing another part of the unit. Then it went down a third time. I don't know if it is the quality of the equipment that the warranty company approves of. They didn't ask our opinion, we would not have gotten this particular brand. I don't know where the problem lies.

    McGuire Plumbing & Heating
GREATTT! They came out for an estimate, scheduled work, came on time, were very neat in work, and very efficient completing the work in one hour. Highly recommended. Very reasonable. I was so pleased that I called they again for an estimate of replacement of and old gas furnace. Their estimate was most reasonable and I will use them for the furnace replacement at a later date and all of my future plumbing and heating needs.

    Brico Services
Called very early on a Sunday morning when we woke to no heat and temperatures of 16 degrees outside. Repairman arrived within two hours, quickly diagnosed the problem and secured a part, even though it was Sunday. Felt the price was very reasonable and the service excellent.. Would definitely use again and will refer to family and friends.

Prillaman Mechanical Heating & Air Inc
Excellent. A service technician, Jeff, was sent out the same day I called. He found the problem, a loose wire on the control board touched another wire, setting the unit up in a heating mode. Jeff identified the problem and had it fixed in about one hour.

    Kennard - Pace Co Inc
Excellent from start to finish. Very prompt and professional. Their pricing was excellent, and even more importantly I felt I was getting what I actually needed. They obviously take pride in their work and make sure installation is optimal. I get the sense they are not going to cut corners. I would definitely use their services in the future and recommend them to anyone.
