    Piedmont Floors LLC
Received 3 different prices from 3 different sales people. When I questioned quote was told we are letting you have this at the lowest cost quoted. I then researched the pricing on the material being quoted and the cost was doubled on what could be purchased from Lowes or Home Depot. They were making up their cost by the other material and their labor. It was also in the quote they would not be responsible for any floor molding they may break or chip in the process. ????? I was told they would lower the price by $100 but I would have to pay for everything up front. Never would I pay for services up front that have not been completed. The sales person was rude to me and his employee. I was able to find the same flooring at another company with better cost and the people were professional. They also have a higher rating on Angies list. Should have checked here first.

Robert F Hicks Inc Floor Sanding & Refinishing
Robert Hicks came in to repair the damage that had been done when we foolishly hired Wood I Do Flooring in Lynchburg, VA to install and stain hardwood floors and ceramic tile in our house (check out my review of them...do not EVER hire them to do any work for you unless you like to throw money away and have your house trashed in the process). Robert did an excellent job repairing the damage that had been done and finishing the installation that had been left undone. His quality and craftsmanship are excellent. He is a little on the pricey side, but after going cheap (regrettably so) the first time, the results were totally worth it.

    Wood I Do Flooring
We contracted Davd Harder of Wood I Do Flooring to install hardwood flooring in the entire main level of our home (approximately 1100 sq. ft, not including bathrooms) and to tile our bathrooms.  After getting a bid from another contractor, and after numerous delays in waiting for the arrival of our hardwood floors, I interviewed David, who bid much lower than the other contractor had (he did not know what the other contractor's bid was).  A quick note to self and others:  Cheaper is NOT always better!  From the start, there was a serious lack of professionalism and a complete lack of comprehension/listening skills.  David interpreted things the way he wanted to, i.e., we requested that the floor moulding and quarter round be white, he had white floor moulding installed and stained the quarter round and told us "That's how I do all the houses.  Everyone does that."  We didn't catch him until it had already been installed.  We told him what color stain we were looking at for the floors and cabinets and he did not provide a sample until well after the project had started, and then when we tried to give him an idea of what we were looking for, none of the samples were even close to what we had asked for, but he had one of the stains put on the floor without our approval.  We told him we did not like it and to stop, and had to fight some more to get the right color.  During this entire nightmare, I had to take my 2 youngest children and leave the home to go out of state to my Mom's during the week while they worked, then come home on weekends (had to stay in a hotel) so I could go to work.  We were told the work would be finished in 6 days...at 2 weeks he still had not finished.  He promised a lot and delivered on almost none of it.  One of the biggest issues we had was David never personally measured the sq. footage of the house himself...he took another contractor's estimate without checking it and the other contractor was off by over 200 sq. ft (unbeknownst to us until the wood had been 80% installed).  We had to order more wood, which was on back order for 2 weeks, thus delaying our project even further, and David later said we'd have to pay him extra to installl the wood that he had failed to calculate for when he offered us the contract, although the contract clearly stated that he would install, sand, and stain hardwood on the entire main level except for the bathrooms, which would be tiled.  David breached contract several times, asked for a $1000 deposit in the beginning to get our moulding (which we complied with) and then called a week later, when the project was nowhere near being done and asked for more money ($2500,  which we gave him in good faith).  Two days after that he said he needed more money because "Tomorrow's Friday and I need to pay my guys."  We did NOT give him anymore money, and it was at this point when we were about done with him.  He argued over everything, the workmanship was HORRIBLE...they left scratches and dents in our floors and then just put a little putty in them that didn't even match the floors.  Where the quarter round had been cut at doorways and other areas, the ends were just hacked off and not finished.  The never installed the threshhold between our tiled bathroom and hardwood flooring in the hallway. Trash, cigarette butts, boards with nails sticking out of them, and plastic were EVERYWHERE and left on our front and back decks.  He had the nerve to tell us his job was done, and that we would need to pay more if we wanted him to finish the two bedrooms that were left unfinished because he failed to measure.  Needless to say, we have fired him.  Unfortunately, we are out $3500 in the process.  Still debating on whether to go to court. I have a partially completed home that is absolutely filthy.  I would NEVER recommend David Harder and his "business" to anyone.

*UPDATE*  We went to court back in March and after hearing our testimony and reviewing the pictures we provided as evidence, the judge ruled in our favor, awarding damages to cover the cost of having to hire someone else to redo what he had destroyed.  Still haven't been able to collect a cent from this crook, however.  Just shows what kind of character this man has.

    Woods Flooring And More
His workers messed our floor up so bad, we asked the owner to show up. He let my husband know he would show up. Instead of the owner showing up, he just sent his workers back the next day. The workers arrived the next day and said we are here to make it right. The owner actually never came out to our property. They used maple wood and a maple stain, which I did not like. They sanded the floor again with a "better" sander. They finally put the correct stain on the wood and put a coat of polyurethane. The next two days they put the 2nd and 3rd coats on the floor. We moved our furniture a few days later. This company ripped the molding off of our walls and accidentally stained it. The walls and baseboard has stain on them. I have paid a painter to fix the walls and baseboard. I also paid another contractor to correct his work. I sent him a letter via certified mail and he did not show up for his court date on 10/18/2010. We have tried to call this company several times. The last time I spoke with him was on June 18, and he said he would refund my money. I have not spoken with him since then. This company is now doing business as Wood's Floor Inc. at 2433 Cobb Street Lynchburg, VA 24501 434-538-8101. His name is listed as Robert Dalewood. His name is Robert Dale Wood, not the combination of Dalewood.
