The guys arrived on time and completed all of the tasks earlier than anticipated. They took care with floors, walls, and carpets and cleaned up in each room after the job was completed. They were very personable and knowledgeable. I plan to have them come back and do additional work.

    Michael & Son Charlottesville
We want to have two additional electrical outlets installed in our garage, currently serving as a workshop/office. A Michael & Son representative came out within the window we had requested, calling 30 minutes ahead to let us know he was on his way. He was very careful to put covers over his shoes before entering, took the information for what we wanted, discussed some of the options, and gave us a thorough estimate of the costs right then. He was friendly, thorough, and professional.

Wayne was very polite and engaged during the call and accommodated our work schedule. Through a snafu on our part, we forgot to give the address. Wayne contacted us early in the morning on the day scheduled for work and verified the residence. I appreciated hes diligence in following-up.
Wayne arrived on time and examined the circuit. He quickly and efficiently replaced the faulty receptacle and checked the adjusted the outdoor lights connected to the circuit as well.
He was a pleasure to work with and very friendly. He provided us with suggestions for updating our garage to accommodate a future appliance. As we spoke, his knowledge of construction and electrical work was clearly demonstrated.
We were so impressed, that we have asked for estimates on additional work.

    Lam's Electric
I contacted Gary when I needed his assistance when my hot water heater stopped making hot water. I contacted Gary and he came the same day and addressed the problem immediately. Since no parts were involved and labor was minimal he did not charge me for this visit, which was very nice. This is the third time that I have used Gary's services so I wanted to go ahead and write a review since I had not done so before. He had done work at my church and more recently at my home the HVAC wiring went bad (service charge that time was $90 if I remember correctly, which I found to be very fair). I would definitely recommend Gary especially for folks in the Greene and Orange County areas.

    Troy-Bilt Construction
When the man (Gene Strother) arrived, he knew what he was doing. Electricity is something I am frightened of, but this man was very reassuring taking proper precautions as he went about his work. He did not create any mess and he cleaned up when he was finished. After installing the plug and lamp, he took the time to show me how to operate the lamp since it had several features to it. I am thrilled with his work and glad that I found him thanks to Troy. I would definitely call him again if I need any electrical work and if I need anything done to my deck, or my house in general I will first contact Troy-Bilt Consturction.

We had this company install our solar hot water two years ago.  A leak developed in our attic, so we called to have it repaired.  The owner only mentioned that there would be a service call fee for a one-way trip, which we did not think was unusual.  The repair man showed up on time.  He said that there was a solder leak in the attic (their previous work) and it was not covered by the warranty.  He recharged the system after repairing the faulty solder.  When my husband was presented with the bill, the amount was stunning.  We had been charged TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FIVE dollars just for the drive to our front door.  The repair was less than half the bill.  We had been given no heads-up that this was the outrageously high fee that the owner only briefly referred to when we made the appointment.  When my husband objected, he was told that this was to cover maintenance, wear-and-tear, and depreciation on the truck.  I've never heard of customers being charged directly for these kinds of business expenses.  Isn't that why businesses can take deductions for these expenses on their taxes?  Immediately after the repairman left, the system began leaking in the basement and has continued to leak.  So, in addition to being robbed for this repair, they created another problem with our solar hot water system.

We do not ever want to have them back again. We were very pleased with the installation of our solar hot water system when it was put in, but I would NOT hire this company because they do not know how to treat their customers for a service call.  Avoid this company.

We spent $ 170 on that service. He did good work overall. He had dilly dallied around the house a little bit and we were on the clock, so we don’t particularly appreciated that. He said he was going to call us back the next day, but we never got a call, but the people were nice enough.

We signed our contract for solar thermal on Dec. 11; our system was installed on Dec. 16. The crew arrived mid-morning and they efficiently worked well together, finishing the same day. They put two thermal panels on our roof, routing the completely insulated pipes through the garage attic, garage, and to the basement into a newly installed holding tank that was connected to our pre-existing hot water heater. The workers cleaned up after themselves. We only found one small wire fragment after they left. All workers were very polite and willing to share their knowledge of our new system. The system has worked perfectly from the first day. We never run out of hot water.

This is a list of the problems Ted caused in my little cottage: Critical: Lacks vent for plumbing waste line, creating a dangerous situation All water pipes, faucets and fixtures, and water heater were filled with and damaged by gravel from inappropriate technique used to repair outside water break. He was explicitly told to wait until the water level dropped so my other worker could fixed it above the water line. He didn?t wait, but incorrectly fixed it himself. All plumbing needed to be replaced. Shower in bathroom 100% dysfunctional: leaked; shower liner leaked; drain leaked into basement; shower door installed improperly and leaked; pan unsupported. Unusable. Dysfunctional: Drywall in bathroom: incomplete and very poor quality workmanship Insulation not added to ceiling before Sheetrock installed Drain in vanity leaked due to missing part Toilet leaked into basement Improper electrical wiring; outside plugs not on a ground fault; bathroom, kitchen, and misc plugs on same circuit; lights and plugs were improperly wired Aesthetic: Bubbles under vinyl in bathroom floor because floor not prepped correctly?then poorly repaired with big holes visible Window in bathroom very poorly trimmed (gaps) Toilet poorly placed in bathroom A square sink was substituted for requested corner sink, claimed corner sink unavailable, but I found out it was Did not offer owner option for copper plumbing; unilaterally installed PVC Poor placement of bathroom fixtures, e.g. light was off by several inches from the medicine cabinet Poor placement of basement appliances?electrical panel too close to location for washer/dryer; not where requested by water heater Consequences: All plumbing, faucets and fixtures, and water heater had to be replaced Entire bathroom had to be deconstructed down to the studs and floor and rebuilt Electrical wiring?had to add more breakers and add ground faults Venting for plumbing had to be retrofitted on exterior since all walls now closed in. I contacted Ted when I found his email address. I proposed an amicable settlement. Instead of standing by his work and working toward a settlement, he took down his web page two days after I sent my email and ran.
