Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto
My vehicle was taken to Hogan and Son's Purcellville location on 10-1-16. It was taken there for a tire repair only. They apparently did a check on the whole vehicle, and came back with a list of things that they said were needed. One of which was new struts all the way around. I recently had brand new front struts put on this vehicle from another local garage. This really tests my trust. I am not going to speculate or make accusations. I leave that up to you to decide. I am just here to state the facts of my experience. I have attached two photos. One of the remarks in the work order, and also the bill from the garage showing that I recently had new front struts put on the vehicle.

    Mobile Repair
Since 2007 - I have used Mobile Auto Truck Repair exclusively.  They are extremely conscience about their work and are the most honest auto repair place I've ever encountered.  All of my vehicles run in top shape because of their service.

    BMW of Sterling
I'm so frustrated with BMW of Sterling.  The belt should have been repaired at no charge or covered under warranty, but they claimed it wasn't.  The car wasn't that old and I believe work they had done a few days prior servicing the a/c unit dislodged the belt.  No proof except a neighbor had the same issue with another make of car and the deanship told my neighbor it sometime happens when servicing the a/c unit.  BMW of Sterling wanted $1400 originally, but after fighting with the service manager, they gave me a discounted rate of $900.  Still too high if it was their fault, but it was their word against mine and they have the experts.
Additionally their customer service staff seems more worried about the grade you will give them on their after service appraisal than they are actually providing customer service.
And just another note, in 2006 several years before we had actually purchased our current BMW, we had gone to BMW of Sterling "just to look."  When we saw something we were interested in, we spoke to a female sales rep.  During our discussions, she asked for some information on where we worked and lived.  If she had asked us to complete a form, it wouldn't seem out of place, but it seemed like she was just trying to figure out if we could really afford the car we were looking at before she would really put forth any effort.  That's not what made us feel uncomfortable - maybe we misread that situation.  It was when we gave our address to her that she said something about being familiar with our neighborhood and wondered if we knew any single men who we could fix her up with because they would be well-off and could take care of her so she wouldn't have to work any longer (only she didn't put it so politely).  I thought she was kidding until she started asking for specific names she could google when I tried to politely say we had just moved in and didn't know many people yet.  We left that day and when I went back a month later I was told she had moved.  Thank goodness.

    D & D Automotive Repair
Recommended by a friend. The check engine light came on and needed my car diagnose and fixed on the same day. Dand D diagnose the issue (bad coil) and fixed it within 4 hours, bad coil causing the cylinder to misfire. Great price and would highly recommend them.

RRT :: Performance, Tuning and Maintenance
I showed up on a Sunday with my car on the back of a tow truck and was lucky enough to find someone there willing to take my car in for a look. I have a 2008 BMW 535xi with about 100,000 miles on it. RRT promptly followed-up with me the following day, diagnosed the problem, and clearly explained the services they believed necessary to get my car back on the road. They priced out each service and assigned each a priority level. Though I am not a and quot;car guy,and quot; as an attorney I am naturally rather skeptical and cynical. I've found everyone at RRT quite credible. The service was completed on-time, they took my payment over the phone and were willing to stay open a bit late to give me time to pick it up. I have used RRT on two previous occasions. Both were successful and significantly cheaper than the dealership. My experience with RRT was good enough for me to refer my boss/friend to them. His experiences matched mine.

    Pohanka Acura of Chantilly
They're the best. The service is something in the recall so it's free. Their price depends on what they do. There are things that cost if I want some $100 - $300. For a regular car maintenance service, they're reliable. When bring my car in, they get it right away. The service people are fabulous. They tell me right away what needs to be done and how long it's going to take as well as if I need a loaner, they get a loaner for me. It's ran very efficiently. It's clean. While I'm waiting for my car, they have a very nice waiting room. Their service is so great. What's lovely about them is they tell me what's wrong with the car. They give me options. They would say that if I didn't do anything, this could happen and if I do it, this is going to be how long it takes. They give me the whole diagnosis and they let me figure out what I wanted to do. We bought our car from them. We knew exactly what we wanted and we knew the price we wanted to pay. It was just easy. I just really like the service part of it. I would buy another Acura just to stay with Pohanka. They call me the next day and asked me how my experience was and how they can improve it. They're just really customer-centered. I bring it in in a first come, first serve basis. I've never been in a situation where I have to wait for hours. After they finish the service, short or long, they always wash the car. They have an automatic car washing.

    Auto Solutions
This is a wonderful auto repair shop. They do it all. Repairs, tires, state inspections, exhaust inspections. Whenever I have my oil changed, they automatically check out all the other systems in care and then let me know if anything odd appears, or if they recommend any other services. Always, always tells me how much it's going to cost and if it's going to cost more, they will call me to let me decide if I want to have it done at all. Being a woman, I do not feel taken advantage of or made to feel dumb. That is a biggie in my book.

    Jock's Exxons
This place has been in business ever since I can remember.  It's always been there.  You can pull in anytime and get help.  We took our old car there, it was on it's last legs.  Instead of sticking us with unnecessary, expensive repairs, they called us to tell that it just wouldn't be worth it to pore more money into this vehicle.  That is was time to let it die a natural death.  Cannot tell you how much we appreciate it.  Then, they let us leave it on their lot until we could have it towed away.  A great hometown place.

    The Tire Shop
It was time to bit the bullet and find out about getting new tires.  Yikes!  Went to The Tire Shop because some of my coworkers have gone there.  It is a very busy place, the front desk staff are very nice and professional.  Left the car for new tires and was surprised when it was ready ahead of schedule.  The do dispose of the old tire, but there is a charge for that.  Guess that's standard.

Here's a horror story for you and why I do not like to shop for cars at dealerships.
    1) We priced vehicles across Honda dealers in the mid-Atlantic region via Internet using e-mail
    2) Joyce Koons Honda supposedly had the exact CR-V, color, options and price that we wanted to pay based on my research
    3) Jennifer Bostic, the Internet salesman, answered our questions via e-mail including the supposed pricing then when we arrived passed us off to another salesman
    4) Joyce Koons was very deceptive and deceitful in the price they gave me in e-mail for what I was going to pay "out the door". They loaded the car with in-dealer accessories we did not want like pinstriping and such with excessive costs. Essentially, they added $700 to the price we were quoted via e-mail and the Internet. Then, we had to negotiate/argue/discuss that we did not want these things at all and that this was deceptive sales tactics. This went on for 2+ hours. Finally, we negotiated it all down to a minimum amount but when we went to accept delivery of the CR-V an hour later, it was missing the $70 trunk mud mat, that again was listed on the window sticker.
    5) Eddy Castro, the Sales Manager, had us wait in the middle of the sales floor for him, only for him to argue with us for 15 minutes in front of customers why he should not have to give us the trunk mat that was clearly listed on the window sticker. Talk about poor sales approach, other customers were staring at us as we argued about it. How bad does it look on them that they are being petty about a $70 item on a $26,000 car!
    6) Finally, as we are leaving the lot, he walks out of the showroom floor with a trunk mat, says little and turns and walks back in to the dealership.
I would never ever recommend anyone go to Joyce Koons Honda for purchase of any Honda based on Eddy's bad behavior.
    7) 5 and 1/2 hours later we are out the door...Ugh!!!!
