    S. J. Conner & Sons, Inc.
This company cannot find a problem. Took them three times coming out to find a problem with the water heater after my wife told them to check the thermostat. The Rheem water heater was less than a year old has a 5-year Parts 1 year labor warranty. Received a bill for all work saying it was not under warranty. Went to Rheem and found out it was under warranty so-called SJ Conner and Sons told them it's under warranty and how to get the money from Rheem for the warranty work. I guess they don't understand English because it took two to three phone calls for them to finally talk to Rheem. One invoice was not under warranty because their Tech could not find a problem and said it was a cartridge in the bathroom faucet replace that did not work. For this invoice I'm refusing to pay because they guessed and we're wrong and did not fix the problem. And now we're going to court and so are a lot of others I found out. So if you want shabby work end up in court hire this company. If you want good work reliable technicians call someone else

Technician used a light on a cable in some places did not find a leak because cable would not bend in that tight a space. He cut a 8"x8" hole in the ceiling but never used the light to see if he could find a leak. Instead he show me piece he cut out of the ceiling and said it was dry there for there is not a leak. But my question is were are the water marks comeing from. Now I am still in the dark. And have to repair hole that was cut in ceiling.

    Appalachian Building Concepts
We hired Appalachian Building Concepts a few years ago for a Bathroom re-model and were thrilled with the results. Mike was the first person I thought of when we were discussing the new projects noted, this time for our in-laws who recently moved in with us. Having worked with Mike and Lou before I knew we might have to wait for another job to finish, but I knew their work was quality, so we were willing to do so. Fortunately, they had an opening in the schedule that we happily filled. My grade of A on the price I must qualify by saying that while Appalachian Building Concepts isn't the cheapest, they use quality materials, and the company does quality work. I must also note that our project came in under what he quoted us, which is always a nice thing for a customer. For the discerning customer who reads these reviews, please also understand that sometimes there are unexpected complications that are encountered on-the-job, that weren't counted on in the initial pricing. For this reason, you may want to consider the quote a "best estimate" rather than an exact figure - having worked with more than a few contractors, this isn't unusual, but I can say I've only ever known Applachian Building Concepts to be fair and honest in their business with me and my family with regard to price. Mike knows this, but for the sake of this review, yes, I'd absolutely hire again and plan to do so soon. We are very happy with the new vinyl fence - this was the first item completed, and gives us an extra option for the dogs (ours and our in-laws') with concern to extra space for them to wander without wandering off, while also providing great curb appeal. The job also entailed installing a shower and Washer/Dryer hookup where none previously existed, so some plumbing was required - We're very happy with the end result, and Appalachian Building Concepts also fixed some previous plumbing such that our workroom sink drain is now hidden instead of just emptying into a floor drain from a PVC pipe. We also had Applalachian Building Concepts put in a new Kitchenette with Sink for our in-laws. It has transformed what was just a large living room into a true "in-law suite" for my wife's parents. Lastly, to make all this work, we had to move our electric master panel over to another room approximately 10 feet away from where it was, and upgrade the service. This part was subcontracted, but Mike managed to find from a previous working relationship on our behalf an electrician who could not only do the job at a great price compared to the other two quotes he got, but could start right away, whereas the other electricians wouldn't be able to start for weeks. Overall, highly satisfied, and would recommend to anyone looking for these types of projects.

    McGuire Plumbing & Heating
I cant say enough good things about McGuire- and I cant recommend them highly enough. Theyve handled a number of plumbing jobs, and a handful of HVAC jobs, for me, and Ive always been impressed by the quality of their work, their honesty and trustworthiness, and their courtesy and professionalism. Heres a little story give you an idea of how exceptional this company is: I had a water leak on a Sunday morning, so I started calling local plumbers. Either their phones rang endlessly or my call went to voice-mail. When I called McGuire at 12:30 pm, Mrs. McGuire, who is in her nineties but still very much involved in company operations, answered my call as she was leaving a church service. How often do you have an experience like that? McGuire Plumbing & Heating is the best at what they do, and their employees are extraordinarily nice people whom you can trust completely. A++++ rating from me!

    Emmons Plumbing and Home Improvement
We were terribly disappointed in this contractor and we would not recommend him to anyone. Starting on Monday of the week that he was working we stayed in a hotel and put our dog in the kennel, and gave him a key to get in the house any time he wanted. He assured me that he would work long days and have the work done by Friday. From the beginning he was barely at our house, other than one long day. He came and went and didn't get a whole lot done during the week. His brother came with him sometimes, or came by himself sometimes, and his brother admitted that he was actually busy with a bigger job than ours. By Friday the job wasn't finished so we stayed one more night at the hotel. On Saturday he showed up with his girlfriend to finish the grout in a hurry. That Sunday there was snow in the forecast and I spoke with him about getting to our house early in the morning to finish the sealing. He didn't show up, and then texted me a picture of his 4x4 truck with 2 inches of snow on it to explain why he wasn't there. At that point we told him not to come back and asked to renegotiate the price we agreed on, since he wasn't doing the sealing or installing the door. He then LIED to us that the door was special order and he couldn't get his money back for it. We asked for the invoice and it turned out to be a door that Home Depot keeps in stock and could be returned. The tile work itself wasn't up to our standards, because the grout lines on one wall don't match the wall it meets. We asked him to mitigate some of the mold that we knew was under there, and he said he would but he didn't (according to his brother). In the 3 months since this job was done the grout in the floor is cracking and the floor of the shower is sagging when we stand on it because he didn't shore up the floor like he should have. He also left a mess in our front yard with pieces of cut tile and cigarette butts.

    Copperhead Plumbing & Heating
I do not live in the area. My mother in law needed a toilet repaired quickly and I found copperhead plumbing on Angies List and called them. They quickly responded recommended replacing (I was sure this would best since I was familiar with earlier issues). They took care of it immediately and at a fair price.

    Wisler Plumbing Inc
I have had nothing but the best of experiences with Wisler each of the 3 times I have communicated with them while troubleshooting my 50 gallon power vented gas water heater. The technicians they sent to our house were the most clean, courteous, patient and honest technicians that I have had in my home for any service related work. They diagnosed my problem and gave me my options and a written quote for those options. The only concern I had with hiring them for the replacement on the 1st visit was cost. Their quality service so far has exceeded my cost concerns. In the end I decided to buy my own water heater and have them install it. I did cost comparisons for this service and they are definitely within the market norm. They installed my water heater within 2 1/2 hours. They left my house neater than it was before they came. They professionally answered all my questions and explained what they did after they were done. I ended up signing up for their annual service check up plan. The service is reasonably priced and includes the flush that I know I wouldn't do otherwise. I will hire Wisler for my future plumbing needs.

    Southern Trust Home Services
Jarrett Hodges did a great job in replacing my water heater. He was very professional, polite and worked well with Craig, who was replacing my AC unit at the same time. Once the installation was complete, Jarrett took the time to explain the unit to me and how to shut it off in case of an emergency. I appreciate his hard work. Thanks again!!!

    Townside Plumbing
Installers for Home Depot. Townside called and postponed original appointment. In confirming new appointment Townside stated the new cost would be almost $200 more than the agreed upon quote 4 days ago. When questioned about the increased cost, Townside's reply was "I have to send two guys." Installation was cancelled and a new plumber was arranged.

    Eades Plumbing & Tile Services
Top quality workmanship on the installation. Top quality water heater provided. Friendly, efficient, and very respectful of the household environment. I have absolute confidence in him. His response time was much quicker than I would have expected from someone so in demand.
