Fence Company reviews in Roanoke

    Appalachian Building Concepts
We hired Appalachian Building Concepts a few years ago for a Bathroom re-model and were thrilled with the results. Mike was the first person I thought of when we were discussing the new projects noted, this time for our in-laws who recently moved in with us. Having worked with Mike and Lou before I knew we might have to wait for another job to finish, but I knew their work was quality, so we were willing to do so. Fortunately, they had an opening in the schedule that we happily filled. My grade of A on the price I must qualify by saying that while Appalachian Building Concepts isn't the cheapest, they use quality materials, and the company does quality work. I must also note that our project came in under what he quoted us, which is always a nice thing for a customer. For the discerning customer who reads these reviews, please also understand that sometimes there are unexpected complications that are encountered on-the-job, that weren't counted on in the initial pricing. For this reason, you may want to consider the quote a "best estimate" rather than an exact figure - having worked with more than a few contractors, this isn't unusual, but I can say I've only ever known Applachian Building Concepts to be fair and honest in their business with me and my family with regard to price. Mike knows this, but for the sake of this review, yes, I'd absolutely hire again and plan to do so soon. We are very happy with the new vinyl fence - this was the first item completed, and gives us an extra option for the dogs (ours and our in-laws') with concern to extra space for them to wander without wandering off, while also providing great curb appeal. The job also entailed installing a shower and Washer/Dryer hookup where none previously existed, so some plumbing was required - We're very happy with the end result, and Appalachian Building Concepts also fixed some previous plumbing such that our workroom sink drain is now hidden instead of just emptying into a floor drain from a PVC pipe. We also had Applalachian Building Concepts put in a new Kitchenette with Sink for our in-laws. It has transformed what was just a large living room into a true "in-law suite" for my wife's parents. Lastly, to make all this work, we had to move our electric master panel over to another room approximately 10 feet away from where it was, and upgrade the service. This part was subcontracted, but Mike managed to find from a previous working relationship on our behalf an electrician who could not only do the job at a great price compared to the other two quotes he got, but could start right away, whereas the other electricians wouldn't be able to start for weeks. Overall, highly satisfied, and would recommend to anyone looking for these types of projects.

    SAM'S FENCING
Had a reassuring feeling of professionalism from the start. We were given an estimate on the spot, which reflected exactly what we finally had paid them. No surprises! The entire work crew worked hard for us, and respected our property very well.

    Jackson & Jackson Inc.
Our property has pretty steep hills which created some difficulty in building the fence. They did very professional job in a reasonable timeframe and for a very reasonable price (we did several other estimates). Arthur was always responsive to the phone calls. We have some other projects that need to be done in the house and we will definitely use Jackson&Jackson again.

    Jackson & Jackson Inc.
Arthur, the owner, was prompt, courteous, and reasonably priced. He stuck to his original quote and did not go over budget. He had a few different workers on site, but consistently had Eric on the project. We appreciated the continuity as it was usually just the female of the house and our young child at home. They were both very friendly and thoughtful in regards to being around children. The job took a little longer than expected, however I would much rather it take a few extra days and be done with the high quality level that Art and his team strive for. The team always made themselves available by phone or text with questions or requests (they even solved a few problems for us for free:). Their knowledge of so many different areas was impressive and there didn't seem to be anything they couldn't handle. We will definitely use Jackson & Jackson again for future projects!

    Affordable Fencing
There was no issue with the speed in which they completed the job and the look of the finished fence. The problem came when the city issued a citation almost immediately that the fence crossed boundaries into a designated alleyway and one side of the fence had to be moved. They had not gotten a permit to build the fence and I called them immediately. The owner showed up promptly and was dis-enheartened by having to move such a pretty fence. They were to get back to me to move the fence, and they never did. My calls were not returned, therefore I gave up. Why am I back on Angie's list looking through fencing providers? I have to have the back run entirely replaced because, after a couple years, it began sagging and now is being held in place by a ratchet strap. Since I had paid a hefty sum for the fence to begin with, I had to wait until I could afford to do the work needed on the sagging fence. I saw this provider's name and felt compelled to share my story so individuals can make an educated, sound choice when shelling out our hard earned money to individuals we trust to do the work correctly. Good luck all.

    SAM'S FENCING
Sam's Fencing did a fantastic job with our 4' dog-eared picket fence that we had put in our backyard to help contain our kids and pets.

They were here on time and worked through the project in just two days with one day in between. They were here and gone before we knew it and were extremely helpful!

    Fariss' Fencing
The quality of work provided was excellent as was their professionalism. A professional contract was given before work began. Provider also coordinated best prices of supplies and coordinated delivery that worked with our schedule. Their prices were fair and lower than other bids we received. The provider also explained how the work would be done and gave clear expectations. It only took them one day to complete and they cleaned up after themselves, not leaving any debris, nails, wood, etc. behind. We were also told to contact them anytime if we had any problems in the future with the work, but I don't foresee that ever being a need. I would definitely recommend this company!!!!!!!

    SAM'S FENCING
I would not use them again. I have a narrow driveway and the gate they put on were directly next to the asphalt and made it to narrow to get my vehicle in. I let the crew know about the issue, who seemed to be fine with re-doing the work. Once the owner approached me, he was definitely upset and advised of all the time it would take to correct.

    SAM'S FENCING
They arrived early in AM both days. The posts went in first. They were very detailed oriented. They came back to put the fence up. That was completed in the day. It truly is a custom fence with the hills in this area. They cut the boards once they are nailed up. It really is a beautiful fence. They did an excellent job in my opinion. I did get 2 other estimates. They were all about the same price. However, I felt that Sam's fence with reviews on Angie's list was the best and this helped me to make my decision of who to use. The crew was early both days; very professional; and very detail oriented. Great group of people to work with.

    SAM'S FENCING
I was contacted immediately and sales rep came right out to give estimate. Price was really reasonable.Very professional and listened to all my requests and concerns. Came back on scheduled day to sink the posts. Returned next day to install the fencing and it was done very professionally and in one day. They cleaned up the yard when done. Spoke with installers and they were all knowledgeable. this was a very pleasant experience and I got exactly what I paid for. Plus it looks just beautiful. This is an A-1 professional firm and I would certainly recommend them.
