    Somatic Harmony Massage Therapy
I purchased a Groupon for a family member who is 7 months pregnant with two young children, so that she could enjoy a stress free hour as a bday gift. I called Somatic prior to purchasing the Groupon and spoke with a very nice and helpful woman. I asked her if they do prenatal massage and was told, "yes, absolutely!" I told her I wanted to buy a Groupon and which massage would be the closest to this type of massage. I was told to buy a Swedish massage. This woman told me to get this one and that she would schedule a prenatal massage and note that this was the massage I bought for her. This family member happily walked in yesterday to check in, very obviously pregnant! Melissa, who turned out to be the OWNER, checks her in and marks the Groupon as redeemed. This family member then confirms the obvious, that she is getting a prenatal massage and from what I'm told, Melissa's whole demeanor just flips and is BEYOND rude, telling this person no that she is not set up for a prenatal massage. Melissa claimed that she was set up for a Swedish massage and that I didn't notify the person I spoke with that I was making an appt for a pregnant woman. I assure that is the MAIN reason i called to set this up. I'm fully aware it's a special kind of massage. Melissa was downright abusive in her verbal exchange with this person, upsetting my family member greatly - hardly the experience I set up for her!!! She left without getting her massage, needless to say. I called and spoke to Melissa, who constantly interrupted me trying to educate me on the difference of the two massages and that I should've specified that i wanted this type for my family member. I repeatedly tried to tell that's EXACTLY what I did. She tells me that the Groupon was for a Swedish massage. I told her that me what I was told to buy by HER employee! I said her employee must've gotten confused and in telling me to buy a Swedish massage, wrote that down instead. I couldn't relay this as she was very rudely speaking over me and kept insinuating this was my fault. She also told me I should've booked a prenatal certified massage for this appointment. I said, "no...that's what YOU should've done since I called to set up a prenatal massage!! That was YOUR job if I call you and make an appointment for a prenatal massage. YOU (or your employee) was supposed to make sure that type of masseuse was the only scheduled for this appointment." Unreal. I thought this lady was the receptionist. Imagine my disbelief to find out she is the OWNER. She didn't apologize (profusely), she didn't offer to make this better and reschedule, nothing. All she did was berate both this family member and then me as if this was our doing. I've never in my life encountered such an awful woman, an unreasonable one, and someone who won't take any accountability for herself or her employee, as she should as a business owner. She must be a joy to work for on a daily basis! And don't bother to get a massage from her and have anything be scheduled wrong,as she doesn't try to resolve issues, only verbally abuse those that are trying to give her MONEY!! Look at the other review here and other places. This is a pattern. I filed a complaint with Groupon and intend to file complaints elsewhere. If you're in need or want of a relaxing massage, you might want to look elsewhere...this place is anything BUT relaxing.

Spine and Othopedic Rehab of VA, Inc.
I have had Vestibular Rehab Physical Therapy at SORVA and I have to say they saved me! I was hit with vertigo, and they got me in quickly to help me deal with the horrible symptoms. I loved my physical therapists who helped me three times a week, even on those days it was tough and I physically hurt. But I kept going and I am so glad I went to SORVA for the physical therapy and support. The staff is helpful, professional and so kind! Do go there for any type of physical therapy you may need! (Cost below may vary due to medical insurance plans.)

    Carilion Medical Center
Very good. The Clinic itself seems well run and the intake procedure is quick and easy. Waiting room is very large and pleasant. Calling there likewise is never a problem. Getting an appt. on the other hand takes a while. I called recently to cancel an appt. and it took 30 seconds I highly recommend Carillion Clinic.

    Roanoke Rehabilitation & Wellness,
It was an awesome experience....had about 6 appointments and problem was resolved.  One on one with therapist.  Every appt was on time and every appt I was given full attention.  After treatment I was given specific instructions for follow up care and prevention of issues in the future.  The front desk/billing staff were personable and took care of all my insurance fileing for me.  Should I need PT in the future, I would definitely go back to RRW.

It went well.  It was effective for several days, which I appreciated.  I really wanted a Swedish massage, but the therapist insisted I needed deep-tissue massage in a couple of places, and I did give permission, though I don't care for deep tissue massage as a rule.

Everyone is very pleasant and friendly in this office.

Note to Angie's List:  I had not intended to review this business, but evidently this is the ONLY way I can get the pop-up to stop appearing asking me to review the business.  Even after I called A.L. and ask that the pop-up request for a review be discontinued, and was told it would be gone within a couple of weeks, it has continued for months.  So I'm submitting the review in the hopes that the pop-up will FINALLY disappear!

They were wonderful.  She did what I needed her to do but she does not accept insurance.  So my doctor wants me to go to somebody for a massage.  But she is wonderful.  She really does have healing hands.  She not only gives you a massage but combines it with muscle movement.  So she is actually moving your body so she can get the various joints.  It?s very therapeutic and not just for relaxation.  She helps you get out of pain.  I have an awesome interaction with her.

I ended up doing the service quite a bit later when I purchased the big deal, six months later because there was a mix up in the scheduling.  The original time I was scheduled for, she was on her way to Las Vegas.  So we had to re-schedule but she ended up giving us free massages for the inconvenience which was wonderful.

    Tuck Chiropractic Clinic
I looked in the phone book and angie's list to decide who I wanted to try out. I had not been to a chiropractor for years. I went and they took X-rays of my spine and neck. I have been receiving treat 3 time a week for over a month. I don't have any pain. I have fibromyalgia too. The treatment that I have received has helped my fibromyalgia too. It is wonderful to get up each morning and not have should pain or back pain. Dr. Skinner is super, super great.

I have had many massages and this was definitely the best. Carrollynn is well educated in massage techniques and incorporates them in the Swedish massage I had. She does not just go through the motions.

I would not go back. I have a bad back and she kept lifting my leg and pushing it to my chest, even though it was hurting me. This is a physical therapy move and she should not have been doing that. I had no issues scheduling with her, otherwise.
