Tooth Extraction reviews in Reston

  • Dr. Volk and the staff in the office were professional and compassionate. I was apprehensive about the procedure as it was my first root canal. I had heard horror stories from co-workers about their bad experiences with other doctors. The staff in Dr. Volk's office were excellent when it came to making me comfortable and relieving anxiety. They explained the process thoroughly and assured me it would be no worse than getting a crown (which I have had done before), and probably less uncomfortable.
Although I cannot say it was fun, it certainly was much better than I had feared. They explained things as they went along. Dr. Volk told me from the beginning that he would stop if I became too uncomfortable. This was not necessary. They used a wedge to hold my mouth open which was very helpful in alleviating discomfort. The few times Dr. Volk had to cause some discomfort, he was very good about offering to take a break and letting me know how long it would take to finish.
I found there to be minimal pain. (I had taken an ibuprofen before the procedure.) The doctor and the person assisting carried on a pleasant conversation throughout the procedure, which helped to provide a distraction. There was music playing in the background as well. Although it wasn't my preferred type of music, it was nothing too 'wild' or loud so it helped to 'de-stress' the experience. I felt like everyone in the office was genuinely concerned for my well-being and worked hard to make the experience as positive as possible.
The doctor did give me a prescription for antibiotics after the procedure as a precautionary measure and provided detailed instructions about how long the temporary filling would last and the time frame for getting a permanent crown done with my dentist. It was not necessary to make a follow-up appointment.
As far as cost, it seemed reasonable, although I don't have any comparative experience. I have dental insurance which covered some of the cost. I did have to wait a few minutes before they could start, for which the staff apologized. It wasn't an excessive amount of time, in my opinion.
I would DEFINITELY recommend Dr. Volk to others. I have given his business card to a couple of co-workers (the people who had shared horror stories). If I need a similar procedure again, I would without hesitation call Dr. Volk's office for an appointment.

  • Service was fine but billing was a nightmare. Even though they were in network for my insurance there were several charges my insurance company said were part of the core service but the Endodontist decided they wanted to bill separately. As a result, I got stuck with several hundred dollars extra in charges that I had to pay out of pocket. Even though the endodontist agreed to send me the paperwork they filed with the insurance company they never did and then stopped returning my phone calls.

  • I had schedule restrictions and made an appointment that turned out to be too far in the future. My infection got worse rather rapidly so they fit me in right away to have at least part of the procedure done. They provided headphones and the music definitely helped to calm me, and the entire procedure was almost pain free. I got most everything done, and returned a short time later for the finish. But I never had any discomfort or swelling or throbbing or anything. I even chewed on the area almost immediately. Really, I'm beyond impressed. I've had more discomfort with cavities than this root canal. And everyone was just so NICE. Genuinely so. I still have to go to a regular dentist to have the tooth part plugged up permanently, so my only regret is that they don't do that there. Still, it makes sense. But really, I couldn't be happier with Dr. Dellork and the entire experience.

  • Wow - very impressed with my care from Dr. Patel and his team. On time, quick and efficient. Great communication. While I hope to avoid another root canal/endo dental care, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

  • I was experiencing pain in my tooth and my regular dentist, Dr. Leslie Rye, sent me to Dr. Besner for this situation. He is an expert in the field of endodontics.. He uses the latest 3D technology to obtain the most information about the medical situation.. Dr. Besner takes the time to clearly explain each step of the procedure. Besides Dr. Besner's the excellent care Dr. Besner provides, his staff is not only excellent but delightful as well!!

  • My experiences with Premier Dental have gone very well.  In addition to the root canal, my son and I both go to them for routine check ups and cleanings.  I highly recommend this practice.

  • I went to Dr. Brian Clark until he retired last month - and thought long and hard about switching to his brother, Dr. Jeff Clark - except that I no longer live or work near Reston, so saw it as the right time to switch to a practice closer to home.
That was the ONLY reason I changed. I had seen Drs. Clark since the early 1990s, and was always happy with the care I got from them (one exception very early - root canal of the wrong tooth - which meant they ended up having to do a second of the actually-inflamed tooth - but they were SO great about doing it and not charging me for either, then switching me from Dr. Jeff, who had made the error, to Dr. Brian, with whom I was delighted - so I kept with them, and was very happy I did.
Their hygienists are all delightful and very competent, and Dr. Brian particularly was excellent at communicating, diagnosing, doing root canals (unfortunately, I've needed a few thanks to repeatedly-filled cavities over the years) that were virtually pain-free and never got infected, and generally keeping my teeth and gums healthy.
The practice is also extremely good about billing insurance, and not asking money from the patient until they've submitted, and if necessary resubmitted, insurance forms - plus they ALWAYS send refunds if due, no matter how small.
If my new dentist doesn't work out (he's highly rated, but based on my one visit with him, I'm not so sure he's going to work for me - ever meet someone with literally no personality?), I will probably go back to Dr. Jeff Clark, despite the long commute to get there.

  • Dr. Pal is a talented and professional dentist with exceptional communication skills and bedside manner. A couple members of our family are less than comfortable with dental procedures and she has been caring and skillful in easing our fears and pain. She has been great with our (pre)teen sons and diagnosed an abscessed tooth that had been a mystery to other professionals for 18 months. Though I feared the resulting root canal, Dr. Pal's technical and personal skills made it truly a breeze. Her staff members are professional, friendly and knowledgeable and add to the positive experience of visiting the dentist. They do a great job at promoting preventive care and dental health. I highly recommend Pal Family Dentistry.

  • Drs. Clark, Clark, and Delany are an extremely good dental practice that I would highly recommend to anyone. They have been our dentists for years and we have always gotten excellent care. They and their staff are very friendly and professional.

  • I have seen Dr. Besner about 2 or 3 times. He is a top rated dentist. He is fantastic. I had an excellent experience with him. He explained everything. He was very gentle with the procedure. It was a root canal procedure and the procedure itself was painless. He is absolutely excellent. He is quite elderly and he has many years of experience. He knows what he is doing. There is some confusion with the billing. I would definitely use his services in the future too.
