Well & Water Pump Repair reviews in Purcellville

In December of 2016, we needed a new water heater. Dave come out and assessed the situation. He pointed out that previous plumber had placed the water heater on a dirt floor underneath the old part of our house. The water heater should have been placed on bricks to prevent the rusting that happened with the old heater. Dave also noted that the water heater they would install would be off higher quality. I did some research and concluded this was so. You can get less expensive water heaters but they are not as well-made. Dave promised a crew (his brother and one other plumber) would return the next day. They did so early in the morning. The removed the old heater and installed the new one, on bricks with a drip pan. They also noted that shutoff values should have been installed to isolate the well pressure tank from the rest of the system. They also notes that a sand filter trap should have been installed to prevent sand from the well scouring the inside of the pipes and also filling-up with sand the PH corrector the same previous plumber had installed. They also noted that the supply line from the pressure tank to the rest of the system went from 1" to 3/4" and then back to 1" reducing water pressure. These things were all corrected, the work done neatly, every recommendation was explained and justified. As a side note, previous to their visit, I had noticed last summer when refilling the PH corrector medium that the PH tank filled up with the medium more quickly than expected - now I realize that the tank was/is half filled with sand that I will need to suck out with a Shop-vac or something. At least the PH tank can now be isolated w/o turning off the water to everything else. The told me how to purge the sand filter - which would need to be done regularly - which I then neglected until the previously fabulous water pressure became poor. In April I called for them to return to help as the sand filter had A LOT of fine sand trapped. I repeatedly tried purging the filter which only helped for a day or so. The sand was caked on and wouldn't purge. Dave called back quickly and reminded me to turn off the water using the previously installed shutoffs, open the purge value to relive pressure and the unscrew the filter body and remove the filter and swish it in a bucket of water to removed the sand. Problem solved! 5 minutes. These are the best, most informative plumbers we have ever used. They have a client for life. This is want you want in a service provider. Not the cheapest but the best.

Mr. Rooter's service (through Kevin Tozcko) was exceptional. This was the second time we called upon Mr. Rooter: earlier in March we asked Kevin to install a dish washer and survey the plumbing in our newly-purchased home with an eye toward replacing older equipment.  The installation of the water heater, disposer and sump pump was done within a day by two master plumbers.  They were on time, efficient, professional in all respects and very easy to work with. We relied on Kevin's advice in terms of equipment brands and capacities and have been most satisfied.
We have recommended Mr. Rooter to others in the area (including a son who had an emergency plumbing situation that they solved.)

We found Runyon through Angie's List and placed an early morning call because we had no water service at all. After stepping through some questions over the phone, Robert was able to get technicians out to our house very quickly to replace one of the components of our well pump system. Very professional and courteous - would definitely recommend and use their services again.

Scott and his brother were great.  We called them on a Sunday after we noticed our water heater was leaking from the top - a sure sign that it was corroded.  We called a few places around the area - including Sears - and Scott was the most responsive out of any that we called.  They came the following day when they said they would, and during the entire scheduling process Scott communicated well with estimate times of arrival and changes due to other jobs.  When they got here they worked quickly, but not hurriedly, putting down tarp and being mindful of cleanliness.
The install itself was pretty easy and I think fast.  They hauled out and installed the new one within an hour and half, including a new expansion tank and replacing a broken sump pump connection at a low rate.  I would highly recommend Scott and Plumb-Crazy.

This contractor was wonderful! My usual plumber couldn't respond to a service call to fix a broken sump pump when I needed him. So I found Crown Plumbers on Angie's List, contacted the owner, and he was able to come out the same morning. He was prompt, professional, and tidy!

The responsiveness was incredibly fast. They were hear early the next morning. The cost of the septic service, $275 was, I thought, on the high side for a small septic. The additional cost of emptying the sump, which took less than 2 minutes, was another $125. Okay, I can live with those amounts as they were quoted over the phone and they are flat rates. It was clear that I my sump pump was no longer working and would require replacement. I agreed for them to replace it that same afternoon and they were to call back with the cost. They did. It would cost $950. I complained that the cost was very high in view of the fact that the replacement sewage pump, a Zoeller M267, retails for $350. But what could I do? I had no alternative. Even Sears, which sells the same pump, does not install. So two guys came back in the afternoon, spend 43 minutes installing the new pump, and charged me the full $950--$600 more than the cost of the replacement pump. There were no additional materials, although they did take the old pump away. There was no travel fee; their office is less than 4 miles away. Finally, there was no discount for the $412 I gave them that morning to empty the sump and septic tank. As noted at the beginning, they were prompt and they were professional. They were also inexplicably expensive. I would use them in the future only after comparing the cost with other septic services.
