They came out and walked it the house with me. I asked him if he could check to see if there was mold in the bathroom from a previous smell. He stated if he went upstairs he would have to cut out a board in the floor where the smell was coming from and it would run a cost of up to $2000 extra. My $59 BD purchased would be applied to that. I feel no service was performed for my $59 purchase. He stated over and over if there is no smell I do not have to go upstairs. Apparently he was looking for some sort of visible sign. They were also suppose to come out on Friday and no one showed up until Monday after I received a call.

    Flood Doctor
I called when our dishwasher flooded and unfortunately, it was the worst time - right after a snowstorm and below zero temperatures. Frank spent time with me on the phone going over what I thought the damage looked like. It wasn't much and it had flooded into our unfinished basement. Because he was so overbooked with recent frozen pipe bursts, Frank gave me several fantastic suggestions to take care of the damage and suggested I call him back to test for the mold later. He was so helpful and knowledgable, we would definitely use him in the event of a big flood!

David was professional and punctual when he came for the free estimate. It was clear that he was very concerned with diagnosing the problem correctly and finding the best possible solution. He thoroughly explained all the options and procedures. He was very considerate of my physical limitations and constantly reassuring me that he would fix the problem. When his workers came he was also present. Once completed he carefully reviewed the work, found further issues and was able to address and adjust the work schedule accordingly. He was able to provide excellent referrals and it was very clear that he was an expert in his field, very knowledgable.

Mike Mulieri evaluated our mold problem in a small area in the basement.  We found that some of the items we had stored were wet and mildewed and strong smell of mold.  Had no idea whether this was a big or small issue and even possibly dangerous.  Mike was prompt and cordial.  Identified himself at the door, gave me his card.  Long story short.  He evaluated the problem and turns out it was minor.  Pointed out what he was and wasn't observing so we understood.  Gave us advice about how to wipe down the area, but said it wasn't necessary to hire his company.  Who says that!?  He goes to the top of my list for any future mold issues.  I understand that this is a business decision for him.  Probably isn't worth it to send a crew for such a small job.  But, there are those out there who could have and would have taken advantage of our ignorance about mold  issues.  Thank you for being candid and honest and ethical.  GIves me hope.

We had a water pipe burst and our basement flooded. There was damage to the walls, floor, sub-flooring, and mold set in. We called a number of companies that say they do water damage remediation and none were as responsive as Disaster Response. We had to wait a few hours, but it was worth it because the technician was professional, answered all of our questions, and handled our problem in the most efficient and non-intrusive way possible. They took care of everything and when the job was done, you would never know there had ever been a problem. They were fast, worked with our insurance and we were very happy with the whole process. We recommend Disaster Response completely and we will definitely call them again and tell our friends, should the need ever arise.

A mature, healthy, oak tree in my backyard fell on my house on Thurs, Jun 13, 2013, during a sever storm in the area around Dulles Towne Center. A tree in my neighbor's back yard also fell on their house.
After getting authorization from my insurance company, the crew from RestorTech professionally packed out my house in four days. There was a lot of debris and then attic insulation in the house, so one of the crew members had to wear a hazmat suit
to clear out the debris to make it clear for others to walk. They worked hard to remove items that were against a wall in a living room, one of the two hardest hit zones. They used a machine to add moisture and clear the air.
John Pletcher of RestorTech came to the house the same day as the disaster, based on a referral from the company who placed a temporary roof and tarp on the house. Mr. Pletcher explained in great detail what his company would do, once insurance gave him authorization to pack up the house. He was very understanding and spent a great deal of his time talking with me. He was willing to start the pack out the next day. Unfortunately, I did not get insurance approval until Sunday, but the RestorTech crew was at my home on Mon, Jun 17, at 9:00, to start work.
Mr. Pletcher took calls from me and my insurance agent on Sun, Father's Day. Shelley, the Textile Division Mgr and her crew, lead the charge for picking up all the clothes from the house, upstairs and downstairs. That same week, Shelley returned a hand- made quilt to my daughter that was put on rush for dry cleaning. That meant a lot. Thanks to Daniel, Brandon, Justin,
Vericona, and then Daisy. This is just some of the crew that were at my house until Thurs, Jun 20. There were others. And Daisy is a very fast packer. I can't thank you enough. Once the household items were out of the house, it was a relief.
The whole ordeal has been difficult but once all items were out of the house, everything started to fall into place. The day after the Jul 4th Holiday, we moved into an apartment. My daughter was invited to Myrtle Beach, leaving early on Sat, Jul 6th. We called RestorTech, to see if my daughter and I could search through dry cleaned clothes and items from the bedroom dressers for beach wear on Fri, Jul 5th. Mr. Pletcher and Shelley had no problems with our schedule and had the racks of clothes ready for review. The boxes from the dressers were easily accessible. Be able to visit or pick up stored items lessens the stress too. We will have to do this again for college soon.
For furniture badly damaged from water, Mr. Pletcher referred me to a furniture restoration company. Selective demolition was
completed on Mon, Jul 17. Mr. Pletcher also picked up the last piece of furniture that could not be reached, due to the debris field.
If you have damaged household items under any circumstances, this company will take great care to clean, restore and store your items. The entire crew is very professional, friendly and courteous.

David with First Priority came to the house and did a thorough examination of an area in our half bath that had a leaky pipe in the wall.  He gave an estimate and we scheduled the work for the following week.  He and a crew member arrived and quickly and efficiently removed the wet and molding drywall and baseboards.  They also removed a nest of beetles that had made a home in our wall.  They wiped everything down with a mold disinfectant and cleaned up.  Other than the lack of drywall in that room, you would have never known they had been there.  The clean up was phenomenal.  I would definitely hire David should any other problems arrive.

The servicemen were courteous, knowledgeable and prompt.  I was selling my house and need to ensure the job was done quickly, efficiently, and effectively.  Disaster Response was able to get the job done quickly, alleviate my concerns, and clean up properly when finished.  I would use them again.

ARS stated they do not perform mold detection, they only do the restauration work after mold was detected by another contractor.

We recently purchased a house and had discovered that there was a basement flood in the past year.  While we were provided information about remediation measures that were taken by the seller, we wanted our own piece of mind about mold. Referred to us by our title company, we contacted BioServ to set up an consultation and mold tests.  Since we are in Northern Virginia, we had to schedule an appointment on one of the two days that Steve was in the area.  Steve showed up on time and we had a good discussion about the potential mold problems.  He presented information in a clear manner and described the process for collection of samples.  He collected the samples in the basement and he performed some visual inspection in some of the exposed walls in the utility and sump pump rooms.  After the samples were processed, he emailed us the reports and we had a phone call to go over what they meant.  There were two results that were cause for concern, so we set up another appointment to come back out and do a visual inspection behind the drywall in some other areas.  In the end, we talked about some remediation methods and a likely mold risk due to a leaking dryer vent which emptied into the utility room.  Our plan is to have Bioserve back to retest the air after we take steps to rectify some of the issues to confirm/deny whether we have improved the air quality.  Overall, Bioserve did a good job and provided us with useful information about mold and the likely causes in our house.
