I worked with Bray and Scarff to repair a two year refrigerator for two months. I gave up and purchased a new refrigerator out of desperation. Bray and Scarff weren't not able to repair - ordered wrong part twice, installed a defective part.

Shabree, the designer, did a truly excellent job of designing to our specifications and showing us what it would look like.   She came out to the house first and took measurements with discussed options for each room.  We then went through a few iterations where she would show us floorplans and renderings of how each room would look at the store.
We eventually chose another contractor based on price, build quality ratings.

I do feel like I had to micromanage their work just to get the results I wanted, and I don’t think it would have gone well without my supervision.  I was a little disappointed in the quality of the cabinets and I was also surprised at some of the additional charges that came up along the way, such as adjustments on the duct-work and soffits.  The appliances look great and we're happy with them as well as the counter tops, though.  They were also very responsive.

To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. I cannot believe how they continue to make ME feel as if I am somehow inconveniencing them, even though they have completely disrupted our lives, and have turned our home inside out. Our wood floors are ruined. Our downstairs basement is flooded. The carpet is damaged, the padding destroyed, the insulation in my walls has to be replaced, my basement ceiling needs to be replaced, and I pretty much need to move all of the contents in my home into a POD to get the floors refinished. And to add insult to injury the dishwasher does not work correctly. And nobody cares, except me.
The best part is that they are charging me an additional $250 to replace my dishwasher with another model. I cannot believe it.
I have never seen customer service so bad. I have called them repeatedly. Nobody has called to apologize. I have to keep calling. Other folks who have written reviews see Sterling Appliance as I do--they do not understand customer service, and I would not recommend anyone use them, else risk running into the nightmare that now defines my life at this point in time.
I hope to report better news. But I cannot at this time. Deanna is a nice salesperson, but carries no weight to rectify nor provide me the level of service that you would think a small business who needs to compete with bigger stores would actual provide. I get the contractor price for the dishwasher. Awesome. Some deal. I have to spend weeks fixing my home, but Sterling Appliance gets to bill me for over $3,000 for their services.
They also dented my kitchen island as they installed the range. But in wake of the bigger nightmare, that little chip is nothing to worry about. Look, nobody is perfect. Installers make mistakes. People are busy and are rushed to make their next install--I understand things can happen. But you cannot run your business with the attitude that you do not care about your customers. And that is the point here. I do business with companies on Angie's List because I believe that the company will stand by their product and workmanship, but this company could not care about me, my situation, nor the hassle that they created, and have still not rectified.
Do yourself a favor, and stay away. You can find pricing that is just as competitive, and I can guarantee you that you can find a better customer service oriented business to buy your appliances.
This is why Angie's List is so important and beneficial. Consider yourself warned.

Salesman gave great advice about dishwashers, actually sold a less
expensive appliance than we budgeted for because he said the cheaper one
was just as quiet. Dishwasher delivered and installed quickly, old one
taken away with no fuss in spite of the tricky small space.
Total cost about half what we expected, with excellent service.
We'll go back again when we need them.

We purchased a new dishwasher along with a 4 year service warranty. Sterling Appliance installed the dishwasher
After 3 years, we contacted them to service the unit.
They replied that they were unable to service the dishwasher because it was placed into the space under the cabinet too tightly.
After 3 visits and 3 weeks later (without a working dishwasher) they said that they could remove the legs of the dishwasher in order to make the repair in which case the dishwasher would be ruined, or we could choose to break up the floor tiles in order to remove it.,
These were the same tiles which were there when they initially installed the dishwasher.
What was the point of them selling us a warranty when they installed a unit that was too snug to be removed?
Had they advised us that the dishwasher unit was not an appropriated fit for the space we had available, we would have taken a different course of action. We asked that the warranty be refunded to which they agreed, but still have not received our refund.
We ultimately hired another appliance service company to make the repair whcih was completed within a week of our call. It was not neccessary to remove the unit from under the cabinet.
In the name of retaining a customer, they could have solved the problem by refunding our entire investment or offering to replace the unit and making the necessary repairs to the floor. They did not stand by their product and chose to do otherwise.
We spoke to several different contacts at Sterling Appliance. Intitially, our discussions were cordial. Towards the end of this ordeal, they turned worthless and contradictory. We will NEVER do business with this company again.

This experience with Sears was the single worst customer experience of my life - no exageration.  The sales person assured me that the appliance I was purchasing would conform with my house, and that a plumber would show up to install it.  On the day of the installation, the people that showed up were not plumbers, and were not able to finish the job.  I spent nearly four hours on the phone back and forth between Sears and their installation company trying to get resolution, but was only able to get them to enter a ticket in a system that would be looked at on Monday.  Their general attitude totally pushed off responsibility onto everyone but themselves, and they did not actively work to resolve the problem until several hours into the issue.

On the next day business day, I never received a call back, and when following up myself, was moved around the customer service channels of Sears for 4 hours.  At multiple points, I was promised that a plumber would be coming out to my house that evening, and that I would not have ot pay for the work.  However, they didn't follow through, and I got a call saying that the plumbe was coming the next day, and that it would be an additional $190 - because they don't work directly with the plumber.  I then spent another several hours (8 total hours), getting pushed around the customer service lines to no avail.  When I finally reached the top of the chain in escalations, I was treated rudely, and they said that they had done nothing wrong and that I needed to hire the plumber myself.  My problem was with how much time I had wasted, and how often I was lied to by their organization.

What made this such an imperative is that I was purchasing the appliances to be able to put my house on the market.  They didn't seem to care at all about this additional complication, and never showed any sign that they would want to act to move faster, rather than costing me money every day I could not put my house on the market.

Overall, a terrible experience, and I will certainly not be using them for the new appliances I will need in our new house.

Took four months for Bray & Scraff to complete minor service to kitchen appliance. Salesman did not respond to follow up. Service team slow and inflexible.

It went well. I've used Sterling Appliance for about 25 years. They are an excellent company.
