    Moving On Services LLC
Everything went like clockwork! Nancy and her team are truly professional. All discarding and donating of items were handled with sincere compassion to help my sister "let go" of stuff that she really did not need in her new environment. They placed & arranged items/pictures on the wall and even made up beds. All items moved were put in their places. My sister just had to help with suggestions of placement--even to placing dishes and flatware in kitchen! They cleaned the new apartment and took away all trash/boxes. Top quality service from such a caring and professional team. Nancy Alberts also provides professional and knowledgeable advice about any life transition. We were blessed to have her services along with her caring team members.

    Horton Hauls Junk
When I talked with Horton Hauls Junk, I mentioned that my partner has anxiety, and they immediately asked what they could do to help her feel at ease. I expected more of an eye-rolling, whatever-lady kind of a response, so I was cheered to hear that they would help her feel more comfortable during the process. They made it super easy for me to schedule and pay for the service, even though I couldn't physically be there, with invoice and payment online. And they were available for the very next day. The team arrived right on time at 8am, assessed the stuff, and gave an estimate. The estimate was a little higher than I'd hoped for, and the team lead called the office to see if he could offer a discount. This saved about $200 (12-15%), which was a huge help at a time when we're spending lots of money for steam-cleaning, duct-cleaning, chimney-cleaning, and all the other expenses that come with moving. The team worked briskly and professionally, and was at the house until almost 3:30pm. When they came across some boxes of old checks, the team gave them to my partner because of the identity-theft risk. They asked questions where they thought something might be a keeper, which was thoughtful and kind. Through the day, while I was working, my partner sent me photos of the freshly-emptied rooms, and it felt like a relief and a freedom to have the stuff be just gone. It was also a relief to work with people who were kind and patient, thoughtful and considerate. I would not hesitate to recommend Horton Hauls Junk to anyone who needs their services... and hopefully nobody needs them nearly as much as we did!

As business owners ourselves (General Repairs LLC) we've heard multiple stories from our customers of contractors that don't call back, do poor work or disappear on them. We couldn't fully appreciate the reality of their experiences and the frustrations associated with it until recently when we had to find someone to remove a tree from our property. We hired Reliable Tree based on a recommendation from a longstanding customer. He is very particular about the work done on his home and we felt that Reliable could be trusted as he was pleased with the quality of their work and their prices were comparable to the other estimates he had gotten. Our customer explained that recently the two owners parted ways but their companies still did jobs together. A pleasant woman answered my call and we were scheduled for an estimate the next day. That afternoon, Rob called to say the job was running long and asked if we could move the appointment to the following day, Friday the 27th. No problem. Friday afternoon, the man who called to say he was on the way was Jim and when he arrived, I was impressed with his demeanor and professionalism. His prices were fair; not the lowest but better than 80% of the other estimates we had received. The tree to be removed is very large and in the middle of two detached garages on the property line so we knew it wasn't an easy job. Jim wrote the prices on the back of his business card and that's when I realized he was the former partner doing the estimate for Rob. While going over the work to be done, I was particularly happy that Jim didn't require our neighbor's fence or vehicles to be removed as he said the crane would be able to lift over everything. This was a relief because our neighbor's truck is inoperable and to move it would have been an imposition to him. Jim said the oak and two other pines would be climbed and the pruned limbs lowered to the ground and hauled out so there was no issue with our work trailers being on the other side of the house. I called him within the hour after our appointment and asked to be put on the schedule. He said he needed to speak with someone about the availability of the crane and would call next week. No one ever called us back and we were beginning to think we needed to find another contractor when Rob called Saturday afternoon February 4th to say they would be there Monday morning. My husband called Rob on Sunday to say we were going to pass on having two of the pines pruned. We wanted just the oak pruned and the large pine removed. He also stated he would be there to meet with Rob Monday morning to insure we were all on the same page about the work to be done as we had not yet received a formal contract. Jim's prices were written on the back of his business card and included the trees but not the verbal price of an additional $200 to grind the stump. Because we wanted the stump ground, our price should have totaled $2350. When Rob arrived today, he proceeded to write the contract but the price for the two trees was $250 more than our quote. When we produced the card with the prices on it, Rob said he would honor it but clearly he wasn't happy. He stated that the tree was larger than Jim described and therefore he brought the smaller crane. In addition, he insisted that the neighbor's vehicles, our trailers and a small ornamental tree be removed. While this supposed miscommunication between the two owners placed us in an awkward and uncomfortable situation, we immediately set to work waking our night shift neighbor to move vehicles and preparing to move trailers to accommodate the equipment. Rob clearly did not like the prices Jim had quoted us and was on the phone discussing this as we finalized with our neighbor that we would jack up the back end of his truck and help push it out of the way, promising to move it back for him when the tree was finished. Suddenly Rob approached us and said he couldn't afford to wait around for everything to be moved and he was going to pass on the job. In complete dismay we told him we could have everything done in 20 minutes and were ready to get the job done today. Mistakenly thinking this was his fault, our neighbor offered to have the truck pushed into his back yard if that would speed things up for us. Despite bending over backwards to accommodate him, Rob still didn't feel it was worthwhile and we parted ways. I cannot understand the purpose of an estimate appointment, in particular with someone who apparently never intended to do the work himself, when Rob planned to write his own prices the day the work was set to start. James was delayed getting to our job on time and further delayed our customer getting to her job as she continued to wait for him. We're embarrassed to have woken and inconvenienced our neighbor unnecessarily. Perhaps Rob made money elsewhere today and it was easy to walk away but it's most unprofessional to disrupt the lives of multiple innocent parties on very short notice because you weren't interested in the job anymore. I cannot overstate how displeased I am with this company ironically named "Reliable" Tree Service

Arpin Van Lines - Hampton Roads Moving & Storage
I recently hired Hampton Roads Moving and Storage to move a few items to my daughter?s new home in Yorktown, VA.  Although the items did not have great monetary value, the items have been passed down three generations and hold great sentimental value to my family.  Juan and Joe wrapped each item and move the items with the greatest of care.

I called this morning and Carl said he would come and look at the limb today. He came around lunch and called me with a price. I told him I wanted him to perform the service and he said it would be later today or tomorrow. He ended up coming by today with a crew of guys who removed the limb safely and quickly. They lowered it down so it would not fall on any other structures and were gone in about 20 minutes. I really appreciated the quick service. Carl said that he wanted to go ahead and get it down because they were calling for storms later today. He was very friendly, and they did a great job. Its like the limb was never there! I really appreciated the quick response and professional job.

Atomic Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Corporation
It began with a old damp cellar smell in our basement.  My husband went in the crawl space and repaired what he thought was a small leak in the pipes.  Several days later I noticed a putrid smell "sewage" mixed with a gas type odor.  I called ATOMIC Plumbing at 3:42AM in the morning out of sheer desperation from the foul odor.  They answered on the second rang, and said they would have someone out first thing in the morning.
At 9:00 AM technicians Jason and Brian arrived. I described the situation and they immediately went into the basement into the crawl space returned quickly and said it was to dangerous to go any further.  The smell was Methane Gas.  They recommended a industrial cleaning company "Drying Solutions and said the basement would have to be cleaned out before they could proceed any further.  We called Drying Solutions they came out and  cleaned the crawl space.
ATOMIC plumbing crew returned the next morning.  Their level of professionalism, kindness and concern was overwhelming.  They showed us all of the old pipes that were damage, explained everything to us as they went along, and took the time to stop and make us feel comfortable with the situation.  It was an extremely unpleasant situation that was made tolerable by the customer service from the initial phone contact with ATOMIC plumbing till the completion of the job.
I wish all companies handled their business in this manner.  They are worth every penny and more.  If and when we have to do more work on our home they will be the first company we will consider for the job.  JASON AND BRAIN You Guys  Are The Best Technicians Ever.  We would also like to give a big thanks to the young lady that takes the calls.  You have the best attitude ever ... it makes a difference when the person on the other end of the phone cares.
