    Bought two glasses BOGO, plus paid bit extra on one pair. (Read through my review for the real kicker at the end) One pair was for my elderly father, and one was for myself. Father's frames and lenses were fitted beautifully/fine, but the lenses of my glasses did not improve my vision without having to tilt the frames at a 45 degree angle away from my face. This put the "arms" of the frames 3 inches above my ears. In this position, I could see absolutely GREAT. However, the manager was firmly adamant I was in the wrong, even though I proved REPEATEDLY and effectively that I could not see well at all with the glasses placed normally on my nose and ears. Manager would not back down. She would not listen, was interrupting, getting argumentative, blaming the ophthalmologist and was trying to make me feel like I was not very intelligent. I tried explaining repeatedly that my lenses were wrong,  wrong, wrong. My vision was NOT corrected.
    At this point, I refused the glasses, but I said we would keep one pair--my Dad's. Almost 800.00 for two pairs (the type of lenses we had ---bifocals are expensive) yes, almost 800.00/TWO for the price of one. So, they told me, since I wrote one check three weeks ago, in order for me to return the glasses and get a refund (~100.00) on the spot, I had to write ANOTHER check for ~800.00, and they would refund the ~100.00 for my glasses from the NEW check, hitting my bank account  AGAIN, and I would have to wait 30 days for the refund from the first check"to come back from corporate." WOW..so then with this confusing accounting, Visionworks would sit on almost 1400.00 of my money for awhile, and I would have to TRUST them to refund me.  
    I was so disgusted with the manager, that I kept the glasses I cannot see out of only because my Dad loved his pair. I was afraid that had I written another check for almost 800.00, VisionWorks would have found another problem and I would NEVER see my money without going to small claims court.
    This store does not strive for customer satisfaction, and as we are on a limited income, to write another check for almost 800, get 100 back and WAIT for the balance to be returned in a month's cycle of our household expenses was really cruel.
    Another review is online for this company, country wide, and had I first read the reviews posted there--over 180+ with a one star rating out of 200--- I never would have purchased glasses at Visionworks.. Reviews there completely reflected problems I encountered. This is a new store to Hampton Roads, and as there are no reviews as of yet,  I felt obligated to pass my experience along via Angie's List.
    Please note, I did not have problems with two technicians in the front of the store who were trying to help me, but just the merciless (and obviously mercenary) manager. As well, my father's glasses were fine, otherwise I would have put "F's" all down the line of this rating,  
    Steer clear. I am going to the BBB next.

    This was the first time I went there and they were $200 cheaper than my former doctor to get glasses done so I went to them. They were knowledgeable about which frames look better, getting glasses back, one can go in there and get the glasses tightened anytime. They were very helpful and they were reasonably priced.

    Takes his time with you, explains things very thoroughly. His staff is efficient and knowledgeable. It's an excellent practice and I had taken my children there. They are punctual, personable and nice. They are very knowledgeable about what aspect of the office they work in.

    I've been Dr. Corey's patient for 10 years, and every aspect of this office is exceptional.  Still working at age 65 and dealing with tiny numbers on hospital labels every day, I can honestly say the lenses he has prescribed over the years are the best I have ever experienced.  I had to stop by his office several times at the end of the workday to have rising glaucoma numbers checked, and the staff was unfailingly cheerful and efficient (amazingly, I was never charged for these visits!).
    As I neared retirement earlier this year and began investigating Medicare prescription options, Dr. Corey actually got on the phone with me one morning when I was stressing about my glaucoma med to help me make the right decision.  Come on, this kind of thing never happens anymore!
    Everything about this practice is wonderful.  His clerical staff is friendly and efficient.  Dr. Corey has a beautiful employee who spends a lot of time helping you make a good decision about each new pair of glasses.  The icing on the cake is that their new location is convenient, spacious, and inviting (decorating to die for).
    Take my word for it.  If you want the absolute BEST eye care for yourself and your family members, use Corey Family Vision at 335 W 21st St., Norfolk, VA.  They are the best.  Period.  End of story.

    Dr. Elkins is a highly respected physician and extremely thorough. Prior to cataract surgery, a spot was found on my retina which needed exploration. Dr. Elkins was the specialist in this situation and did a thorough examination and cleared me for surgery. This visit is an ongoing follow up to and quot;keep an eyeand quot; (forgive the pun) on my eye!

    They are very professional and always able to work me in at a time that's convenient for me. They are also very good about telling me every test they perform on my eyes and why it is necessary. I don't have any hesitation recommending them. I wear contacts and their prices seem to be about average. My only complaint is that their glasses seem very expensive.

    I see Dr. Mark Ophthalmology once a year for services. My husband sees him also. He is a good doctor as far as we are concerned. He did cataract surgery on my husband and he is getting along fine. I have not had to have surgery yet but I am getting along okay also. It does take a while to get an appointment. The office has moved, they have everything now computerized and now have prescriptions emailed to the pharmacy. The staff is professional. We receive excellent communication.

    He is with Tidewater Eye Center.  He recommended me for an eyelift surgery so that I could see well.  He has also recommended me over to a contact lens specialist because I fell in a year ago, busted open my eye and the lens ended up settling into the bottom of my eye.  So they are going to give me to the specialist for the contact lens that I am going to need to help improve the vision on my left eye.  Dr. Rappaport is very caring.  He always reassures me that things are going well; that I am not completely going blind yet and that is what we are fighting against.  He told me that the Glaucoma does not create more of a disability with my eyes than what I already have from the diabetes.  So he is really good.  He is pretty good on availability.  He is very punctual.  They are using a new system there that does keep them on time.  The staff is always very friendly.  Dr. Rappaport answers any of my questions and takes the extra minute to answer questions.  He is good with communication because he always sends the reports out to all my other doctors so they know what is going on.  He has done really good with the treatment so far.

    I would recommend nothing about him and his office.  First of all, the prescription that he gave me for my contact lenses and glasses was not a good prescription.  I had to go to the art of state class and I thought this new contact lenses and glasses would fit perfectly for this particular class.  I found that I had to wear both in order to see.  I had to wear contact lenses and glasses in order to see.  When I got back I returned the glasses and very much later when I needed to order contact lenses, I went to the contact lens store.  When I needed to order contact lenses, the people from Dr Simmons’ office would not give the store my prescription when the store had called.  In fact my first set of contact lens I ordered from them and it took them nearly three weeks to get my contact lenses in.  I didn’t get them in time to go on my trip.  They only gave me one pair of contact lenses which took them three weeks which is absurd.  I can get the contact lens from the store within two days.  It took these people two to three weeks to get my first pair of contact lens.  When the store called Dr Simmons office to get my prescription, they said that they couldn’t release my prescription information to them.  They wanted me to go in and sign something for them to release the information.  They have violated the consumer law of not giving my prescription information to the third party.  So I have made a complaint with the medical corporate office that Dr Simmons is associated with.  During this whole thing, they also lost my record.  The people in his office just do the dumping bit.  They kept putting it off when I had asked them for my record because they had lost it.  I will never use his services again in the future.

    I consult Dr. Newsome once in every 6 months. My wife and I was consulting Dr. Newsom���s father in law and later switched to Dr. Newsome itself. He is a great person and the practice is very convenient. The dispensing of glasses and the checkups are all under a single roof. I like his services and will continue to use the same in future.
