Concrete Repair reviews in Portsmouth

    Integrity Concrete
Company came highly recommended. Met with owner in January 2017, who was very impressive in knowledge and suggestions/recommendations and provided a fair price along with a reasonable time frame. The deposit check of $2,600 was promptly cashed in February, then silence on the line. Finally in May after no concrete or scheduled date for work to begin, we cancelled the contract for non-performance. After taking 30 days to refund the deposit the company kept $250 without notice or explanation. Txts messages and voicemails to the company regarding this matter have not been returned. In order to give the company the opportunity to correct this, I delayed making this report until now.

    JES Foundation Repair
Trust --- we trusted JES to fix a bad situation and they did!
This waterfront home was built on poor soil ? as a result, portions of the house sank 5 inches and the detached garage sank a catawampus 11 inches.
The house renovation was planned to the inth degree and completing major items such as roofing, plaster work, flooring and more were dependent on getting the structural problems fixed first. Walls were cracked, windows didn't work, sliding doors wouldn't open, and floors were amiss. The house needed a complete renovation.  A year and a half ago, we hired a local competitor to JES. They worked for four months with little oversight, the majority of their helical piers failed, engineering oversight was non existent, and they left the garage in a jack hammered unusable condition. I had to fire them off the property.
After receiving several more structural estimates, we chose JES to remedy the problems.  Their crews and supervision came in like gangbusters and they finished it all in 29 working days. It was a huge effort. They drove numerous piers down 35 feet, lifted both the house and garage, reinforced walls and floors, and finished it off with a walk through. My wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the production and engineering competence and expertise. Windows and doors that hadn?t worked in years freed up and are now usable, the family room isn?t crooked anymore, and I have my garage back. We trusted them to do the job ? and they did!
I only wished we'd hired them first -- we would have saved thousands, we would have less gray hair, and would have finished the renovation a year ago. Lesson Learned.
JES's management team was great and the engineering work was impressive. Our investment in them paid off with dividends. We were lucky to find a company like JES.

A friend of mine usually does my tile work because he is a perfectionist, as am I  ---  but he injured his arm and couldn't perform this job. I was hesitant to hire anyone else, to re tile the Master Bedroom Shower, as I wanted an exceptional job.  After looking through reviews and Angies List, I choose Belletto Construction (turned out to be a great choice).  Clarence, who did all the work, was friendly, very courteous, and respected my wishes and our house.  As soon as he started working I could tell he was extremely experienced and had done this many times before. I thought I was a perfectionist!  His specialty seems to be how he cuts tiles --- complex corners, holes, smooth edges and angles are not a problem.  His finished product is a show piece and I wouldn't hesitate to show his work to anyone.   I used the shower this morning for the first time and all the water flowed directly to the linear drain.  No water puddling occured anywhere -- not on the floor, not on the granite seat or shelves.  When we re-tile the downstairs bathroom and shower, I know who I'll call  ----   without hesitation.

I called Dan for an estimate for a small patch for $1000, then a couple weeks later my wife wanted add another section for another $500, by the time he was done, we added more areas that ended up costing us almost $3000.  The whole time Dan was so easy to work with even as we were adding more areas as they were removing the old stuff.  His group of guys worked hard and fast.  I have pine trees, so the roots were everywhere making my old driveway pop up, so they used axes and saws and removed the roots really deep, so I shouldn't have any issues for years to come.  I had to travel for work the day they poured and Dan took pictures and text them to me.  We are very satisfied with the cost and the results, it has added curb appeal and value to my house.  I would highly recommend them and will use them again when I have enough money to replace the rest of the driveway.  I have already recommended him to a few co-workers, so I hope he gets their business, because I know they will be happy with his work.

Dan's crew ripped out an old section of driveway and then poured a new section which doubled the entrance of my driveway and gave me room for an additional vehicle. The guys did a great job and beat the rain to meet the deadline. They covered everything so the rain wouldn't ruin it and roped off the driveway. We love our new double entrance. Now we can come and go without playing musical chairs with vehicles or driving on our yard.

So first the caveat that I know Dan personally as he is my neighbor. However, I don't have issues calling someone out if they can't get a job done - neighbor or not! (This is probably because I run a family business and have learned to separate business and personal relationships). I've always believed it is important to write a review to inform others, good or bad, as this is the way I most often choose services; that is by word of mouth. Also, if you're reading this Dan - I expect a discount on the next job! (kidding, but I won't complain if you take it seriously)
Anyways, I had seen some of Dan's work and decided to hire him on to provide a complete update of our decades-old main bathroom. He provided a detailed estimate of the work and what was expected from both parties. For example, which items I was responsible for providing, which he would provide and so on. He also helped select some of the fixtures and gave advice on what the popular styles were. As a contractor myself, I am not overly impressed by someone getting a job done, after all that's what I'm paying you to do. What impresses me is how a contractor overcomes the inevitable problems that arise on almost every large project. Dan and his crew did a fantastic job dealing with the existing bomb shelter-like walls of the bathroom and unexpected rot of a portion of the sub floor. The project stayed on budget and on time which to me is very important. Our bathroom looks impressive and we receive compliments regularly from our guests who have the pleasure of taking care of business in our new look.
Since then I've hired Belletto Construction to tile a sunroom, repair an exterior garage door, and create a custom, removable screen enclosure for my garage door (this turned out to be an awesome addition to the garage for a minimal amount of money!). I am currently saving up to have them update our master bathroom in the spring. I'll write a review on that as well when it is complete.
In summary, Dan's an honest contractor whose primary concern is customer satisfaction. If you're looking for a local company to get a project completed in a timely and professional manner, consider Belletto Construction. There should be pictures of our bathroom before and after on their website to give you a visual of what we had done.

    PRESIDENTIAL POOLS
I found the company as concrete specialist on craigslist.  I got them to pour a concrete patio for me and they came and did it the same day.  It took them about four hours from start to finish.  Everything seemed all good until they left and I started looking around.  The patio is not level at all.  It slopes in all different directions.  I could have done it myself and it would have been more level than what I have now.  I called and told Renee the issue, only to get told that it is between myself and Frank.  When I talked to Frank, he promised to make it right and he would get back to me.  After a couple of days, I took pictures of the patio, even with a level on it, proving how screwed up it was, and sent them to Renee.  I shortly recieved an email back saying that Frank would take care of it.  I still have not heard back from them.  I spent alot of money, only to have an unlevel patio and a mess in my yard.

    GBCO Conoco Concrete LLC
This is an outstanding company that has fantastic work ethics, which is hard to find these days. The job was completed in one day, where the estimate provided stated 1 1/2 to 2 days. The lawn/dirt removed from the work site for framing, etc... was put back in place neatly & everything totally cleaned up to the point that it was very difficult to tell that any work had taken place.  We look forward to doing business again with GBCO Conoco Concrete LLC in the near future when they replace our driveway.

I have had quite few huge jobs done in my 70 year old house by these guys. They were just great. They have always showed up on time and always got the job done right. Most of these jobs were done at different times so it is hard to say exactly how much I paid for each. This was a very expensive job though but it was all worth it. They did great.
